    Здравствуйте. Видео просто прелесть. Вопрос пожалуйста только ответьте, кожа какая краст или коза и какая по толщине? В готовом виде ремешок какой толщине должен быть и шлевку вы приклеили она со временем не оборвется? Обычно нитью седельным швом ременные шлевки прошиваю. Спасибо жду ответа.

    Piękna praca! Jaki klej został użyty do klejenia? Czy planujesz publikację filmu z produkcją przedmiotów wymagających formowania skóry, tj. np. etui na pióra, zapalniczkę, pochwa noża?

    • @mkleathers3453
      @mkleathers3453  7 лет назад

      Klej wodny do skór. Coś z formowania będzie na pewno, myślę że właśnie etui na Zippo. Względnie proste a samą technikę można zastosować do bardziej złożonych prac.

    great video! could you tell me where you get the plastic outline for cutting the watchstrap? also, in your other video, there was a tool that punched the holes for the watch strap. where did you get this as well?

    • @mkleathers3453
      @mkleathers3453  7 лет назад +1

      Thanks, Both were made by local (Polish) companies that make this sort of stuff. Templates were cut from plexi. Any place that offers laser cutting should make you any shape you require. For multi hole punch was done by facebook.com/wykrojniki/?fref=ts Ibelievve they take international ordders.

    Very Nice, Could you please advice what tools you use and where to get them from?

    • @mkleathers3453
      @mkleathers3453  6 лет назад

      Hi,
      The list of the tools I use is probably longer than the minimal list of the tools you would need to make a strap. But to make a strap you need:
      1. Leather, for top, and lining - if you make strap with lining
      2. Glue for leather
      3. Sharp knife,
      4. Ruler
      5. Piece of paper, cardboard to make templates
      6. Awl
      7. Stitching iron, pricking iron - to mark and punch holes for stitching
      8. Needle and thread
      9. Something to mount the strap while stitching, stitching pony is the name of the actual tool
      10. Hole punch
      11. Egde paint and something to apply it
      12. Sand paper, preferably on a block of foam or wood. 100,150, 180 grid
      13. Something to smooth/press the leather when glueing and shaping - bone folder. There are plenty of items you could use. needs to be firm and smooth.
      Some are sourced from various online shops, some are custom made by me or fellow makers. I'd advise to start with something simple and work your way through to actually see, what suits your way of crafting the best.

    Hi. Thank's for this video.
    May I ask what is the "brown painting" you are using for the sides ? is it a special product for leather, a special brand ?
    Thank's !!

    • @mkleathers3453
      @mkleathers3453  6 лет назад +2

      Hi, Yes that is called edge paint. ( for leather) Plenty of different suppliers out there, Fiebings and Tandy Leather to start with.

      Wanted to ask this as well... its different from a dye is it?

  • @namasayagiri

    Hi, on the hole part of the strap you only use water based glue, rite? is that strong enough to keep them together for a long time?

    • @mkleathers3453
      @mkleathers3453  6 лет назад

      For the "production" or strap that would go to customer, I'd use barge glue / butapren just to make sure. Having said that I have used this strap for a long time and nothing fell apart. If the stap had been worn in moist environment or you'd sweat a lot there is a chance it could affect water based glue.

      Hi, this is water based leather glue from my local shop. Look it up there are few manufacturers who make those. I also use heavy duty leather glue (one that smells bad ;) ) I designed templates myself and had them cut out from plexi at my local printing/cnc shop.
