On 23 January, 2014, the 3x NS SD70MAC with mixed freight train was going to Greenfield to give away the cars and the crash occurred at 1:16 PM because of the engine being short-circuited and then, getting burned so they took the LV GP9 and 1x NS SD70MAC to the repairs and returned back to service whereas, they cannot fix the NS SD70MAC because it has been burned and it is not longer useful for the service. So, they threw it out of the railway.
