You have taken the mystery out of installing a bar. I think people will now know if they are able to install one themselves or not. Also the mystery of the broken foot. Thanks for putting your body on line, another great video.
Argh. Where was this video 5 days ago. You make it look so easy I could have installed it myself and saved $600. Great video as always mate. Keep ‘em coming.
I managed to score myself one of these bars! I'm so excited to give it a crack once it arrives using your vid as a guide. I'd also just like to say a big thanks on behalf of the entire VSMH community. Your videos are informative and of great quality and all your efforts are appreciated greatly :)

Definitely no hoop is the go. Especially with how sexy the dmax front already is designed. Keep that mean look and still have the protection of a bar. I’m currently looking at the ambush bars for mine when it comes but we’ll see what happens because this one is mint 👌👌.
I almost like the bullbar, but the large gap between the bullbar and the fender is rather unsightly and makes it look like a misfit. Great video nonetheless!
@@pukavita Cheers mate! P.s all bullbars should have a ~20mm gap, with the bull bar connected to the chassis and the body on body mounts they move independently. If it's flush you will damage your headlights. You can add d rubber seal to 'cover' the gap but still allow movement.
A great video, the new bar looks OEM and video detail was exceptional. It appears you did not use the additional cushioning edge strip you showed earlier, I think it would have made the side look better at the bar interface to the mudguard arch strip. A big fat rubber all around the top of the bar would fill the gaps really well. Even though the side of the bullbar to the mudguard at the side aligns well, the gap looks a little large. The VSMH in the bar grill is a really nice touch.
Thanks mate 👍 yes it's a balance between the gap, really gotta have 10-20mm for vibration particularly across proper corrugations. Have tried a few different edges now, you can see on the lights vid today, just have the side gap for the.moment reckon looks the goods
I don't know if your still reading these comments but if you are how have the lights been going with the side brackets removed. I recently fitted a full bumper replacement bar and had to remove those black brackets on the sides of the headlights that attach to the bottom. I found that the lights are a little wobbly after removing them. I remembered this video and came back to it to see you also removed yours. Was removing the side light brackets something you were concerned about or has everything been fine?
Hi there, yes have added light brackets on the sides just after the install, I'd recommend adding some. If the bar you got didn't include them you could make up a pair pretty easy, just need some flat alloy/1.6 gal, then 2 small bends and couple of nut and bolts.
@@VideoShowMeHow yeah noticed the light is now resting on on the quarter panel. Making a bracket should be easy enough fitting it without removing the bar is going to be a bit of fun
Hey mate cheers 👍 Yeah still a fan, has made a good difference to driveability. Still have the follow up vid to release with findings etc (waiting for trailer to get back to so I can do the last bit of the vid!!)
Hey Adam, any reason why you went for just the one recovery point, other than cost? I'm picking up a pair tomorrow, and I've already got a Maxtrax static rope I can use as an equalizer if I need to. Just keen to know your perspective. Cheers mate.
Hey, one would be fine, I just had access to purchase at the time from a guy on the forum. Am planning on grabbing another though as gives more recovery options 👍
Looks good I’m also looking at one for my new dmax. I saw the caravan that you tow with the dmax can I ask what size it is? I have ordered one for delivery end of 2022. Keep the videos coming
As an Auto Mechanical Engineer and a career in many fields, doesn't make me an expert, we all should know what an expert is? For whom believes or thinks that they know every but a knower of nothing, meet many of them, LOL. Definitely an EXCELLANT and informative break down and refitment vid. BUT! If you are going to fit a Winch Bar because to go through this process, why was not a WINCH fitted at the same time as it shouldn't be an afterthought considering fact of again "removal" required. As to you mentioning Glass House Mountain "Tracks" I know that area... Also, using the chair was a good idea, I have one better!! Do you have a floor jack, Remove the Lift Plate, make a "H" frame with attachable arms " to fit any Bull Bar" it can be bolted to the jack. then you can position the bar with ease. Make this and you will have more friends. LOL. Considering I made one for a mate some long time ago and in his opinion / great Idea. I was thinking of a Patent. Anyone can do anything creative. Like my father use to say /upstairs for thinking / downstairs for dancing and in-between your problem .... Cheers
Probably due to the fact not everyone can afford 6-7 grand in one go with a bullbar and winch, I highly doubt there would be much difference, or else they wouldn’t put them on after if it could potentially effect the vehicle in the future
Some great vids VSMH ;) Gee i hope they bring out a bar for the 2022 MUX. The price for the bars are great. Is it a strong bar compared to other similar bar?
Same material, good welds etc, I'm happy with it and love the tucked design :) Have a few extras to bolt on shortly, selections have been made, vids underway 😁😉
Just wondering if anyone has a long term update on these bars? They appear to be a Chinese bar that are sold under several different brands with minor changes between brands?
@@VideoShowMeHow Thanks for update mate. How long is the slim cutout in the middle of the bar? Just wondering if a 22" slim LED light bar would fit in there? How is the powder coated finish holding up? Any surface rust marks near welds etc. ?
@@VideoShowMeHow ahh ok cool, sorry I thought you got upgraded LED lights, all good, thanks for the vid I am doing my bar this weekend and have some notes taken :)
The sensor housing just couple of light sprays with matt black. Am going to be powder coating the bar so leaving them blue. Have painted the rear sensors and no issues
It's pronounce as E-sue-zoo and not I-zoo-zoo. It's Japanese, alright. That's a very cool looking bumper, however without winch and light bar it kinda look naked.
