As someone in the similar position of Bjorn as a young man with a father, I can't help but feeling anything other than empathy and adoration for Ragnar's character. Yeah, he made a shit ton of mistakes but his intentions were always pure, he never aspired for ambition, as his character even mentions in episode 9 of season 3, his rise to power was fueled by others decisions. I get why people might be pissed at him all the way back to him cheating on Lagertha, he's a flawed character no doubt, but you have to look at all the layers of nuance to this amazing character. Travis Fimmel has really brought such life to this incredible story, Vikings is one hell of a show.
why is everyone talking so much about is mistakes... i know he made few, but not tons like everyone is saying. tell me some of his mistakes please. at least 5...

Steven Jonas I think all of his sons inherit certain traits from Ragnar. Ivar has the strategic ruthless mind Ragnar had (it is heightened by the fact that he cannot walk). Björn inherited the curiosity and adventurous aspect of him, Sigurd and Hvitserk are more difficult to allocate I think. But Ubbe definitely inherited Ragnar's sense for justice and his looks.

Well, I already know anyone who says something like this has never lived with a disability firsthand. I love Bjorn dearly and always will - but Ivar has a kind of strength, tenacity, and hunger for life that his able-bodied brothers will NEVER understand. Ragnar himself said his legs gave him a strength even his brothers didn't have.

bjorn left rollo behind........he should have known ragnar wouldnt want him to stay behind........ if anything bjorn should have stayed behind...he's always on i want to go to the mountains alone crap for how long...he always wants to prove himself....he should have went behind and held it down....yet again...i do understand perhaps he wanted to go back to kattegat to watch his dad till he got better....all and all he should have known to not leave rollo behind...

yea he didn't do great when he should proof himself, but i still believe he can become greater than ragnar, because he'll learn of the many mistakes he has made or gonna make. and believe me, he WILL become great some day. and actuly his character does look a little like ragnar's character.

The scene with the bear is one of my favorites in the show, but it has one inaccuracy that's so huge that it's funny. He's fighting a grizzly, which is a species not native to Northern Europe...so the only way he could have tangled with such a beast would be if he walked all the way across the Arctic Circle to Canada! Also, Lagertha should have made Bjorn a good political marriage some time before he knocked up the help, or at least given him a good talking to to prevent him from ruining the life of every woman he sleeps with!

Ironic that the Vikings raided England and murdered their kinfolk. Although it was centuries after the Angels. Saxons and Jutes settled in England the Danes from Jutland raided Jutes in England. Languages so similar that both sides understood each other’s language.
Bjorn is trying to live up to his dad's rep and for his own glory also.He is not following Ragnar's tracks, just tryna reach to that peak of a glory. For those of you who nags about his ways and character, u'd probably feel that about urself if u were the son of Ragnar but fortunately it's Bjorn and not u. He is young and much to learn from his endeavours, still wise as a young viking and daring, not as awesome as Ragnar coz he still young bruh but much careful... He is his own character not Ragnar and he will be great as he already is for some of us. Take ur time and let it sink if it's sink-able...
