Namaste Pandit ji, Firstly a big thank you for taking to social media. You are sharing the lessons and wisdom with the current generation, we are fortunate; at the same time, all of this material is being preserved for the future generations and contributing to an open source archive (something that has been lacking in the past). I am sure that a lot of the viewers here, are not professional musicians. Some pursuing music alongside their studies, some alongside their day jobs, and others may be turning back to tabla after years of not being able to play or connect with their instrument. Whatever you share is truly valuable for the community. However, I would also like to see you share protocols for riyaaz. For example, how does one get the best out of their limited riyaaz period? How should riyaaz approach be different for different bols (e.g. how long, how strong to play, how fast to play)? It would also be great to hear your views on how to listen to great maestros (e.g. what makes Thirakwa Khan Sahib's tabla feel so complete; what should one listen for when listening to Ustad Alla Rakha perform his intricate layakari; what can modern tabla players learn from Pt Kanthe Maharaj). Please keep sharing. These videos will serve generations to come. I hope you taking this step will also encourage other maestros.
I am so eternally grateful to you for sharing your skill and your wisdom with us. Not only the technique, also the guidance on the approach and the wisdom for the struggling student that music is for enjoyment. Sending all my love, respect and dua's to you. Thank you❤
Yogeshji, all your syllable explanations are so unique n presented in such a unique manner, which help practice in right technique. I am not a Tabla Player but practice Tabla for my own mental satisfaction. Will practice from today itself the way you are showing. Definitely it will help. Will give further feedback after practicing for one week.. 🙏🙏
Pandit ji pranam. I had problem with tagtag syllable while playing dheneghene tagtag. Now I can play it faster according to this video. It would be so kind of you if you explain us the hand posture of playing dhenedhene.
Only what and how to play is not important, for what to play that is what exactly "dhin gin" practically speaks or plays for situation ?..every bit on any instrument transfers its energy vocally..regards❤
If you could, please kindly consider making a tutorial on tabla care and cleaning
