I'd clarify with a more meaningful position "where's the evidence". The position "I don't know" as in "I can't disprove it" applies to any 'god' the same as it applies to the tooth fairy or anything else you could name, so it's not very useful to identify as 'agnostic' when the application is so broad. The atheist "believes" God does not exist since the atheist cannot actually say "God does not exist" (he can't prove it). @@crazydragy4233 Are apples blue? In reality, apples appear to be the color which the observer detects based on the light spectrum they are sensitive to. So, if one perceives it to be blue and has faith that it is, sure, it's blue. The same goes for the observation of creation. If one perceives it as evidence for God, so be it. But, I tend to play with the atheist's interpretation of Faith. They claim "faith" is blind to evidence. Atheistic interpretations fall into the category of "mythology" or "religion" by that standard. When an atheist "believes" there is no God, it becomes an assumption/faith, hence Faith. But, in my heart, mind and soul, Faith is the understanding that as humans we are limited by our brain; therefore, we cannot say "God does not exist". How can we rely on the limitations of human comprehension to reduce God to particles found in the universe? Dawkins "believes" something must have existed for the universe to come out of nothing (a paradox). So, should we all follow Dawkins' Religion?

During my early teens i went to see for myself what this was. Tried seeking this God and i had a supernatural encounter unlike anything I had experienced and i really tried to explain it away. I couldnt. It happened again and again as i searched for God. A sensation that seemed beyond my body.
Then i researched my belief. How could i believe it, is there objectively based reason for it. And in my findings i find that there is absolutely NO way to explain existence without an infinite and personal God.
The base for my reasoning is simple causality. Everything is caused by something or has an origin is the premise. However following that logic would follow an infinite «caused by caused by» with nothing to start everything. In other words there needs to be something that was uncaused and has always existed for anything to exist. If there was no such thing then we would have a paradox in which there would be nothing to cause everything.
And i know you’re gonna ask «well who created God?» but if you ask that then you probably didnt understand what i said. The reason why this would point to God is exactly because He is not created or caused but has always existed. So noone made God. He is completely independent for His own existence because He IS existence.
To me at least. That is the WHY God. Why Christianity is another matter with plenty of reasons and evidence that is uncomparable to the other religions

      a) when you leave out WHAT you experienced, again and again, there is no reaction possible. b) Why can't we accept, this is something we don't KNOW, yet. Why the need to "fill it up" with a god? Why can't we just say: "Well, science brought us very far, compared to 2000 years ago, but there's still a lot to discover." I don't WANT to know, what came before the big bang; I leave it to the scientific world, that gave us DNA, great breakthrough to use, for identifying people and thus very usefull to use in crime resolving. I'm not going to name all great inventions and discoveries.
I just don't understand this stubborn, unlogical thinking. "We can't explain what came before the big bang, so there MUST be a god".("the god of the gaps")
Using YOUR logic: the UNIVERSE is god. Certainly not an old, bearded man up in the sky.

@@smoly37 i dont leave it to the scientific world as i am part of it studying medicine at the university of Bergen. And what you’ll quickly realize is that a lot(if not most) of discoveries and theories have a lot of uncertainty. Meaning that we cant know for sure if that discovery or theory actually is the case. The scientific world is also quite flawed in the way that when a theory gets accepted and then gets refuted by new evidence, the science community will dogmatically withstand the new evidence to great lengths until it cant be done anymore.
And no im not using a God of the gaps argument. Im observing evidence and follow where it leads. If it points to the universe having a creator, if that explanation best explains what can be observed. Than i will belive that. You can say the same for gravity or evolution, you cant definitely know but you can make a case for each explanation and are left no choice but to go with the best explanation

I personally don't want to worship a God, who doesn't exists. If he existed, he could let us know. This hide and seek does not satisfy me. Especially what religion or God one believes in depends on what part of the world one was born, and when the person was alive. For an example an Egyptian 5000 y ago would have believed in Ra, the Sun God. There were way to many gods in the history of mankind. None of them proved to be particularly credible. CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO
Kṛṣṇa Steals the Garments of the Unmarried Gopīs
One day, the young gopīs left their garments on the shore as usual and began playing in the water while chanting of Lord Kṛṣṇa’s activities. Suddenly Kṛṣṇa Himself came there, took away all the garments and climbed a nearby kadamba tree. Wanting to tease the gopīs, Kṛṣṇa said, “I understand how fatigued you gopīs are from your austerities, so please come onto the shore and take back your clothes.”
The gopīs then pretended to become angry and said the cold water of the Yamunā was giving them great pain. If Kṛṣṇa did not give them back their garments, they said, they would inform King Kaṁsa of all that had happened. But if He did give the clothes back, they would willingly carry out His orders in the mood of humble servants.
Śrī Kṛṣṇa replied that He had no fear of King Kaṁsa, and that if the girls really intended to follow His command and be His maidservants they should each immediately come onto the shore and take their respective garments. The girls, trembling from the cold, climbed out of the water with their two hands covering their private parts. Kṛṣṇa, who felt great affection for them, again spoke: “Because while executing a vow you bathed in the water naked, you have committed an offense against the demigods, and to counteract it you should offer obeisances with joined palms. Then your vow of austerity will achieve its full result.”
The gopīs followed this instruction and, folding their hands in respect, offered obeisances to Śrī Kṛṣṇa. Satisfied, He gave them back their clothing. But the young girls had become so attracted to Him that they could not leave. Understanding their minds, Kṛṣṇa said that He knew they had worshiped Kātyāyanī to get Him as their husband. Because they had offered their hearts to Him, their desires would never again become tainted by the mood of materialistic enjoyment, just as fried barleycorns can no longer grow into shoots. Next autumn, He told them, their most cherished desire would be fulfilled.

So although the evolutionists have the burden of providing evidence for their fanciful tales, they take no responsibility for a detailed account or for any evidence demonstrating feasibility. Contrarily, they go so far as to imply that anyone holding them to the normal requirements of science is feebleminded, deranged, or evil. For example, Professor Richard Dawkins has been quoted as saying, "It is absolutely safe to say that, if you meet somebody who claims not to believe in evolution, that person is ignorant, stupid, or insane (or wicked, but I'd rather not consider that). Instead of taking proper responsibility for the burden of evidence, the evolutionist propagandizes by the intimidation of name calling.
To set a better example, let us take up the evolutionist's burden of evidence to see where it leads. Our first observation is that apparently all functions in a living organism are based largely upon the structures of its proteins. The trail of the first cell therefore leads us to the microbiological geometry of amino acids and a search for the probability of creating a protein by mindless chance as specified by evolution. Hubert Yockey published a monograph on the microbiology, information theory, and mathematics necessary to accomplish that feat. Accordingly, the probability of evolving one molecule of iso-1-cytochrome c, a small protein common in plants and animals, is an astounding one chance in 2.3 times ten billion vigintillion. The magnitude of this impossibility may be appreciated by realizing that ten billion vigintillion is one followed by 75 zeros. Or to put it in evolutionary terms, if a random mutation is provided every second from the alleged birth of the universe, then to date that protein molecule would be only 43% of the way to completion. Yockey concluded, "The origin of life by chance in a primeval soup is impossible in probability in the same way that a perpetual motion machine is impossible in probability."
Richard Dawkins implicitly agreed with Yockey by stating, "Suppose we want to suggest, for instance, that life began when both DNA and its protein-based replication machinery spontaneously chanced to come into existence. We can allow ourselves the luxury of such an extravagant theory, provided that the odds against this coincidence occurring on a planet do not exceed 100 billion billion to one." The 100 billion billion is 10 to the 20th power. So Dawkins' own criterion for impossible in probability, one chance in more than 10 to the 20th power, has been exceeded by 50 orders of magnitude for only one molecule of one small protein. Now that Professor Dawkins has joined the ranks of non-believers in evolution, politesse forbids inquiring whether he considers himself "ignorant, stupid, insane, or wicked.”
Let us proceed to criteria more stringent. For example, Borel stated that phenomena with very small probabilities do not occur. He settled arbitrarily on the probability of one chance in 10 to the 50th power as that small probability. Again according to this more stringent criterion, we see that evolving one molecule of one protein would not occur by a wide margin, this time 25 orders of magnitude.
Let us go further. According to Dembski, Borel did not adequately distinguish those highly improbable events properly attributed to chance from those properly attributed to something else and Borel did not clarify what concrete numerical values correspond to small probabilities. So Dembski repaired those deficiencies and formulated a criterion so stringent that it jolts the mind. He estimated 10 to the 80th power elementary particles in the universe and asked how many times per second an event could occur. He found 10 to the 45th power. He then calculated the number of seconds from the beginning of the universe to the present and for good measure multiplied by one billion for 10 to the 25th power seconds in all. He thereby obtained 10 to the 80th x 10 to the 45th x 10 to the 25th = 10 to the 150th power for his Law of Small Probability.
I have not been able to find a criterion more stringent than Dembski's one chance in 10 to the 150th power. Anything as rare as that probability had absolutely no possibility of happening by chance at any time by any conceivable specifying agent by any conceivable process throughout all of cosmic history. And if the specified event is not a regularity, as the origin of life is not, and if it is not chance, as Dembski's criterion and Yockey's probability may prove it is not, then it must have happened by design, the only remaining possibility.
Now to return to the probability of evolving one molecule of one protein as one chance in 10 to the 75th power, we see that it does not satisfy Dembski's criterion of one chance in 10 to the 150th power. The simultaneous availability of two molecules of one protein may satisfy the criterion, but they would be far from the necessary complement to create a living cell. For a minimal cell, 60,000 proteins of 100 different configurations would be needed. If these raw materials could be evolved at the same time, and if they were not more complex on average to evolve than the iso-1-cytochrome c molecule, and if these proteins were stacked at the cell's construction site, then we may make a gross underestimation of what the chances would be to evolve that first cell. That probability is one chance in more than 10 to the 4,478,296th power, a number that numbs the mind because it has 4,478,296 zeros. If we consider one chance in 10 to the 150th power as the standard for impossible, then the evolution of the first cell is more than 10 to the 4,478,146th power times more impossible in probability than that standard.
In summary, given the known age of the universe, the solar system, and our understanding of mathematical probability, mindless Evolution and natural selection is impossible on every level.
You have a better chance of resurrecting Michael Jackson, having him teach you to moonwalk, and then Moon walking all the way to the Moon, then stand on its surface and toss a pebble at the planet Earth, making it land in the back of a moving pickup truck once every five minutes for the rest of your life, that would be exceedingly more probable than mindless Evolution or natural selection.

@@Mark13091961Respecting religions is imperative upon all but following wrong religion or the religion that has been contaminated by the selfish people for petty gains may not be the right thing to do. Therefore, it becomes necessary for all to verify what they believe is 'truth' or not.
If God is One for all and all his favours( water, sun, food air, etc etc) are for all then His message for the humanity also has to be one and can't be different for different set of people of different era/time, language or geographical area.
What is that 'one message' that God is giving from the beginning (from sanatan kaal/ ancient times) through different sages and prophets?
To understand the same first we need to give up our worldly identities given by our birth like- muslim, Christian, hindu, Buddhists etc and ask ourselves 'what would've been my 'truth' if I had been born in other community? Will it not be different from what I believe today?
If it would be a 'different' 'truth' then either that one is wrong or the one that I follow is wrong.
For 'truth' is got to be UNIVERSAL in nature and applicable to all without any difference or discrepancy of any sort...like the favours of Almighty is same for all humans of the earth.
The 'classical mistake' the humanity has committed everytime is that they began worshipping false Gods/ man-made god's or humans/animals as Gods and demeaned and diluted the authority and sovereignty of the True One Creator of all.
And therefore, today we see n number of Gods confusing all of humanity...God, in order to curb this menace of associating partners to the God, kept sending His divine knowledge through sages and prophets from time to time in all era and area. They (messengers) established the truth while they had been living here however, after their departure their knowledge did not pass on, in right manner, to the coming generations and also due to manipulation by unscrupulous people the 'true message' got corrupted...As, therefore we see the knowledge of Vedas/ Torah/ Bible have almost been lost/forgotten/ manipulated.
In order to re-establish (yada yada) the truth again and again prophets were sent in all areas and then the final messanger prophet Muhammad(pbuh) was send to earth for all of humanity...but people gripped under the illusion of their accidental 'worldly identities'(of being born to different cultures, races & languages and their superiority complex) are unable to see it that he( prophet Muhammad saw) has been given the 'same message' that was given to all the other prophets and sages who cane before him, i.e,- 'Calling all of humanity to their one true God'.
Unless we accept prophets of all times of all nation as giving the same 'message' we will always differ with 'tera-mera' ( yours- ours) or become prone to 'apni daphli apna raag'( everyone playing their own tunes without any accountability)..whereas deep down in our hearts and conscience we all know that we all have one race 'humans' and are brothers and sisters from the same family.
A humble soul doesn't disown others(due to accidental birth Identity) unless it has studied and pondered over the message of other religion before making his/her choice.
For this life is all about choosing-
      1. RIGHT FAITH( Unadulterated to True God) &
      2. RIGHT DEEDS(karma).
No soul will be given salvation unless it has earned it. So, mere holding onto someone will not get you the salvation.
So, everyone Choose wisely as noone will answer on your behalf ... you ALONE are answerable to your One & Only Unseen true Creator.

"O mankind! We...made you into nations and tribes, that you may know each other (not that you may despise each other)."

Seems surprising they are reprinting Batman Rebirth TPB 1 & 2 when the first three of these still seem very available, whereas a couple of the later ones including particularly Vol 4 War of Jokes and Riddles are extremely hard to find?

Most people won’t admit it, but the only reason they believe in a religion is because they were bought up around it, or they use it to keep themselves grounded. Realising that the world is just random chaos will turn a lot of people mad, they need a reason for it to be the way it is. But the truth is there isn’t.

There's little use in talking to Americans about what happens outside their borders. It simply does not register. She still thinks American evangelism is the only religion that exists.

Richard Dawkins did not realize that all he mentioned believed in God. God is in all cultures, even Charles Darwin believed someone bigger than man

As a muslim if i am wrong. nothing happens. i will die and remain dead. what if iam right and what if a belief in god is right and if i dont believe i will go to hell. when you know you have a choice what will u choose a train with no destination or a train with clear instructions on where it is leading. no matter where you are born if you research about life and its purpose u will come across god and thats why humans are created and they are here on the earth for a "test" . and i intend to pass it.

By the numbers i would go with shinto, with 8 million gods it has more chances of one of them being the real one
