When you tested the red cable it said pairs one (1,2) and three (4,5) were used and you said it was a 10Base cable. But 10Base uses pairs one and two. So that's kinda weird.
hi there i recently bought this product and started testing it out however i am confused by the wiremap system. i had around 20 meters of CAT5 utp connected to the nc-500 and into channel 1 had set up the NVP to 69% i tested the cable and everything was fine connections and everything however my problem came when i cut the 1st pair and tested agn it showed the reading of 23.5m on the side what does it mean? Please advice me thanks lot
The weird cable pinout on the red cable is a T-1 loopback cable. The IT guys probably had to install a PRI at some point and then went to another type of phone system later.
Nobody will even notice I unplug this phone for a second. *5 seconds later* "Hey! Who turned off my phone!?"
Hey! Who turned off my phone!...................nice review thanks

This is a T-1 loopback cable. You may have to use one to wire a PRI.

Wow, I've seen some of those testers total over $18,000! I'll take this tester into consideration. Thanks Jim!
Does it tell you the number of the port on the switch? Thanks for the video very informative as always.
