I've always wanted to convert a SxS. We do a lot of mountain trails and rock crawling. Electric would cut out the heat, the noise and the exhaust fumes from slow moving trails. I might have to take this project on some day.
@@gerald4027 Well if you carry small solar panels with you then you can charge when sun is shining. Also having reflectors on solar panels increases their power so with 100kg of solar panels you can charge long after when gas you carried has run out.
@@USA-GreedyMenOfNoIntegrity You could fit quite nice amount of flexible panels to your rear compartment with small modifications. Like 400 Wp panel weighs about 8 kg and having like 20 of them weighs 160 kg and can charge quite fast. It might slow down you somewhat but when you are exploring I don't think you are in a that big an of hurry. I think this is where solar panels could be quite useful because then you have small power plant with you.
So he stated it's a little faster than stock but then says it tops out about 60nph with electric but as gas the RZR100 will do 80mph conservatively from everything that I have read. Still one amazing job and definitely worth it especially for the job that it's going to be doing EV West does it again always with the Great electric conversions
This is cool. For set use, the range on this is good. I doubt they would often go 50 plus miles during a shoot period in one day. The quietness and fine level of control is a very valuable commodity.
My dream is a converted Ariel Normad. Rally capable but mostly used to get around the countryside and sleepy villages in great weather. I do want to to remain light so the upcoming next generation of cells will be welcome. I kind of want it to be AWD though, so that would be a proper challenge to engineer. No huge power needed on the front axle, but some good low speed control for light roack crawling and maximum acceleration would be epic.
How in God's name would I search "Side by Side electric conversion" and have EV West coincidentally upload a video about it 10 hours ago. It was meant to be.
Is it possibly a centrifugal clutch you are thinking about? I have a slipper clutch on my bike, and it's meant to minimize back wheel lock-ups when downshifting.
Awesome build, I would love to do a conversion but with the ranger ev coming out in December will hold off until that shows up. With this build can it handle water or mud? Where I am we ride in a lot of creeks with SXS so just curious if these electronics could be used or if another package would be needed.
There are some really affordable EVs on the market now. Perhaps taking a stock drivetrain and modifying the vehicle for the application would be a good way about it.
If you’re trying to pull up an inch and move 1-2 feet, something is wrong with your buggy. $18,000 not including the cost of the RZR or labor? Lmao Nah I’ll buy a 400hp electric Vauxhall Brawley before I go this route.
It would be cool to see the range with a turbine generator that runs on alternative fuel like hydrogen or oxygen onboard recharging the battery in the field.
@@notimetoexpIain that would work. But the fuels I listed burn cleaner. And what’s cool is a turbine is multi fuel. As long as it burns and is a semi gas liquid spray. It will run.
@@Daniel-os9tb the fuels you listed do burn cleaner but are harder to store and come by, I said biodiesel as it is fairly normal and the turbine could run on that too (afaik)
So much more reliable than a gas RZR because the gas RZR runs a belt. As he just gets done showing us his electric RZR built running a belt🙃 why not direct drive it? 🤡
would like to see build videos as well as completed vehicle videos
@savage to salvage check out their RUclips they're building a c10 with tesla motors
Yes
OMG that is so cool. I'm super excited to see more adoption of utility and work ev.

Fast isn’t just top end it’s 0-60 also and it sounds like that’s what this guy used it for more 0-60 then top speed
I've got a sxs with a blown engine & wasn't sure what to do with it but now I know what I'm going to do.

I have a vision of doing my Can-Am Ryker.
Me too
What's the weight difference? Looks like a ton of fun!

Great stuff hope to see an electric jeep conversion from ev west soon with amazing performance just like this speed to power and power to speed.
Hi Mike, will you guys offer a conversion kit for UTV's?
Sounds and kinda looks like a giant remote control car
In AZ and Utah utvs are street legal.. I hope someone can do a cost-effective kit for older rzrs and can ams.
How did you get the stock LV system to work without the motor? Were you able to flash the ECU so that the EPS and everything worked perfectly?
it looks like it's going to tip over, slow down a little .seems like fun
Do you plan on having an SXS kit on your website?
Nice video, as others stated would like to see real build videos also.
Awesome thanks Mike 👍🏻
Nice work. Subbed
Does it have regenerative braking?
Is their a forum people are using to source components?
Yep, I would like one of these. How much would you sell the the RZR in the video for with today's value?
It was a little unclear. Did they retain the CVT Transmission?
The attacked the ev motor to the transmission

I'm interested! I have a 2021 General. Can you supply a kit with the motor mounts & CAN integration?
Just yes!

Hope to see a jetski build one day.
My rzr is new, but it's good to know I can relatively easily swap it out to electric when the gas engine is end of life.
Sick!
Fantastic content, could you do a kit for a ktm enduro motorbike
Awesome!
It is time for Can Am and Polaris to start production of electric ATV , I am expecting 45kW electric motor at 6500rpm and at least 15kWh battery .
so cool!
How does this compare to something like the polaris factory ev ranger?
Where did you get the pulley from
How strong is the engine
At least it's not running on a rubber band
No offense to yawl but the factory 1000 mill has way more tire spin then what that does for 18k and top speed 60 it better break loose from 0 to 50
kindly convert small vehicle for commerical purpose
like taxies, renting cars , load carry vehicles and many more...

The Brawley looks sweet!
Could it be driven in deep water?
That's a good question! I bet if they wanted to wrap everything up they could, but since it wasnt specifically requested or talked about, I doubt it
The front end is the junky part...

A diesel generator running on biodiesel would also be interesting to see

Sxs = s+g 🤣 side by side, swerve and giggle
for the sport crowed you are asking people to spend 18k on something that is EXTREMELY underpowered . and extremely underanged .
