Dowtin Jr. was the most NBA ready looking player on the Sixers Salt Lake City League team.
Chase your summer league analysis is spot on. Council & Bona played exceptional. They just need to slow down & play more at a controlled pace. McCain definitely has a natural court awareness. I see him as a more skilled TJ McConnell.
I think Andre Drummond is a huge addition

McCain as #2 but no mention of Keve Aluma? Aluma is looking like a perfect fit for the Sixers PF spot. McCain needs to hit his shots to be on the floor and he has not done that against fringe NBA players so far.

Yall forgetting the regular season. Ricky was literally a spark off the bench. He had a awakening at the end of the season (last 30 games). He exploded on the suns to the point KD walked up to him & gave him his respect. Ive been saying this since february, "Ricky Council is a future star. The biggest indication to stars are their abilities to draw fouls. Ricky has high iq, high motor, great rhythm, good defensive tendencies, good facilitator off the drive, can score off the dribble, can catch & shoot, just has to improve his handles & continue to polish his skills. HE WILL BE A KEY PIECE IN US WINNING A CHAMPIONSHIP."
Council plays out of control to much he thinks he’s a creator off the dribble that’s not his game he’s not a 10 man rotation player yet he has to slow down and know his role
@@romelsligh2788crazy talk. Council should be a guy we play as much as possible. Morey robbed him at 4yrs 7M. This guy has potential and needs 20 minutes a game in the regular season. Let’s see what he’s got.

@@romelsligh2788 you obviously don't watch games. He dropped 19 vs was, 17 vs WARRIORS, 16 vs BOSTON, 13 vs MIAMI, 11 vs spurs, 10 vs suns, etc. All done off of a maximum of 10 - 12 minutes.
If we could round out the roster now with a solid start I’ll be hopeful next season. We have the 3 first rounders in 2026 to possibly trade during the season if we need to upgrade or shake up the roster. Oubre and Martin starting with a bench of Lowry, Payne, McCain, Eric Gordon, Council, Gordan Hayward, Achiuwa and Drummond would be a good team

If we could somehow acquire Lauri Markkanen that would possibly put the sixers in the same area as Boston in my opinion. That would allow you to bring Caleb Martin off the bench. What do you think? Or another option that I like is Aleksej Pokusevski, he would be a nice power forward or backup center plus he's a 7 footer that can shoot the three and play defense and rebound on both ends. Can you imagine a backup frontline of him with Adem Bona or Andre Drummond. Check him out. Let me know what you think. Could be backup if we miss on Lauri Markkanen

McCain needs to hit shots to be on the floor, so to say that he was the #2 Sixers star with his really poor shooting in these first 3 games is way off. Dalton Knecht is looking like the better pick. It's only been 3 summer league games but McCain isn't doing that well against fringe NBA players.
Sixers still don't have a point guard that can keep his dribble alive. That means Embiid will be trying to show off his handles. No legitimate power foward either. Drummond will control the boards when he's on the court. Otherwise, we'll be outrebounded.
Please no dowtin rather have bona on the bench this year he is more ready than McCain on defense which is what we need when embiid is sub out.

Sixer nation, why does everyone keep assuming caleb martin is playing pf. Hes never played pf for miami go back & look. Maybe hes had a defensive assignment to guard a pf, but hes never been played as a pf. Hes 6'5 in a lineup with a guy whos 6'7 & 6'8. I guarantee you Oubre or PG would be inserted as the starting pf WAAAAY before caleb martin would. I see PG playing pf first because he stands a better chance beating a pf off the dribble before he beats todays youthful sf off the dribble. C'mon guys ctfu we philly phi-natics NOT casual fans. Thats casual fan talk thinking caleb martin can/r will play pf 😅😅

@@binnybrand2563 that's casual fan talk. Positions don't change just style of play. Most SF from early 2000s still in the league are converting to pf simply because 1) the players in today's league aren't as big as they used to be. 2) veteran sf's are too big & slow to out pace the average SF of today's league.. The game is constantly evolving & devolving, but positions don't change. A pf is a pf but I get your point.
