  • Primary health care (PHC) is the frontline of the health care system. It provides the essential first point of community contact in our efforts to try to keep people well and improve their quality of life. A strong accessible PHC system underpins population health outcomes and delivery of cost-effective care.
Yet, despite its critical importance, PHC is not always not clearly understood by those working outside the system.
PHCRIS Senior Research Fellow and Knowledge Exchange Manager, Dr Christina Hagger, gains insights from senior stakeholders across PHC: community/consumer; policy maker, health manager, health professional and researcher perspectives, including Professor Michael Kidd, Ms Deb Lee, Professor Ngaire Kerse, Ms Anne McKenzie, Mr Mark Booth and Professor Tom Brett.
