Every time someone runs fast in a 60m, the question immediately becomes how does it translate into their 100/200m, no one really cares about that 60m time 'independently', it's always about what it means for the 100/200m depending on the athlete! With only 2 rounds in the new Global Champs in '26, be good to see someone like Shericka, Kerley, Tebogo, Kenny B attempt a 'real' sprint 100/200/400m triple!
Hated waiting till March to start the season I would have loved to have had an indoor season of track in high school. Indoors is kind of a cheat code for the outdoor season especially for the high school College level.
I'm sorry but I cannot agree with this man. The only triple is the 100 the 200 and the 4x1 the indoor is a whole nother season that doesn't count on your triple. I'm sorry
This is a silly argument. Indoor will never compare to outdoors and the competition is much lower. The only country that really care about indoor is mostly the US. The fact that some of the greatest sprinters in history couldn't be bothered to show up for indoors should let you know how important the competition is. Indoor is really just competitive training for the outdoors season. 60m is impressive but it is at best equal to the 4x100m. and a 100m/200m/4x100m triple is far more coveted than a 100m/200m/60m triple.
The 60m is only a tune up. I wouldn't say that nobody cares... But most ppl simply don't. Including so many pro sprinters. No way an indoor event should be included in a triple discussion.
Nobody cares about the indoors. Bol can break 400m indoors record,, it doesn't count. Until she does something great in the outdoors.. outdoors performance trumps indoors heroics.
my thing is no one really watches indoor and for all that gatlin still couldn’t beat bolt when it came to outdoors and regardless there is a 200 indoor and outdoor would you rather have the indoor title or the outdoor title
True triple... 100m, 200m, 400m. Sorry, but thats what a triple is. I dont think its been done at a world championship. Or a 110m hurdle, 400m hurdle, and a 4x400m relay... no high 4x200s, if they run that professionally, that changing track revertly.
The youngsters on your podcast do not understand the comparisons you try to make.. They get stuck on indoors v outdoors and Worlds v Olympics.. They miss that global championships have a sense of equality, and if you can be dominant at 60/100/200 THAT is a huge achievement as a sprinter..

I feel like all high schools with a track and field program should have an indoor season.
A healthy Asafa on that Jamaica team on the anchor leg in 2012 is beating the US in 2012!
Anson, you’re talking to two competitors who are still in the game hungry for their own titles.
