In all seriousness, the masterful rendition of this song is not even next level, it's next dimension. The orchestral adaption alongside a powerful singer that adjusts to the pitch and timing of the rendition is just ... honest perfection, and that's just the song *on its own.* When it accompanies the scene it was designed for, well, you can't help but see everything as epic, even a giant cookie with a steamy-milk wig.

Everyone praises Disney's musical bits but nobody acknowledges the amazing Dreamworks stuff. Sure this was just an epic battle scene set to a song by Bonnie Tyler but still. This is just as good as any Disney number. Alongside "The Plagues" and "It's Tough To Be a God" I dare say Dreamworks' music rivals that of Disney.
+Viktor the Creator Your absolutely right. This interpretation is bloody amazing. The power, the strings, the disco feel... everything! It's musical perfection.
I like how this song fits perfectly with Shrek himself. The song talks about needing a man who's "larger than life" (Shrek is pretty big compared to everyone else) and "fresh from the fight" (he's fighting his way into the castle just to get to Fiona in time) while the song describes the struggles of holding out for a hero. While Shrek is battling with trained, armed knights with a cat, donkey, and a giant gingerbread man, Fiona is desperately trying to keep her distance from Charming, suspicious of his rushness and egotistic personality that the real Shrek doesn't have. She's forced to dance with him with no one else to help her but herself. She also avoids kissing Charming as much as possible. Talk about dedication in a woman who's forced in a situation like that and not knowing when her man would come back!
So, I am an avid RPG player, and at one point during a fairly intense fight, one of my fellow players used an ability of his to basically put some tiny speakers on our tank's shoulders to buff him. Guess which song started blasting out of the speakers? Yeah, he wins at D&D.
Jennifer Saunders did a brilliant job performing this song. Even though her character (Fairy Godmother) was Evil, I can't deny the way She sang this song.
When you think about it the nights did a great job protecting the castle. I mean the party continued uninterrupted while a giant ginger bread man attacked. However they couldn't stop Shrek. Thing is can anyone?
Lol, that random moent when Dreamworks breaks out the best cover ever created in history for a song. xD Seriously though, i can't choose which one i like better, the original song, or Shrek 2's cover.
Andrew McFayden Yeah seriously! It's like they wrote a song with epic lyrics but never intended it to serve a purpose, then along came Dreamworks like "No no, here's how you do it."
Okay but does anyone else appreciate what a wonderful job Dreamworks made with this song? The transitions, the choir, the orchestra as a whole.... Honestly such a great piece that told the story in itself and portrayed every emotion amazingly and beautifully♥️🔥. Thank you for uploading this! (Incase you do see this some day lol).
Couple things: One, this isn't in Cm Two, Jennifer Saunders said that she basically had to sing each line over and over to stitch together something usable but damn if it didnt come out great

Damn. The Fairy Godmother does all this stuff to try to make Charming happy, and then proceeds to hire an entirely incompetent pianist.
+Derpy: WolfyBananaProductions Horrible mother if you ask me. Hiring a horrible pianist for the ball.
That's the part that I like, " Put it on C minor." She knows that she is going to nail it.
Crispy Well it's actually Fiona's parents that planned the ball
Everyone praises Disney's musical bits but nobody acknowledges the amazing Dreamworks stuff. Sure this was just an epic battle scene set to a song by Bonnie Tyler but still. This is just as good as any Disney number.
Alongside "The Plagues" and "It's Tough To Be a God" I dare say Dreamworks' music rivals that of Disney.
I agree her voice is amazing and the score goes perfectly along for the ride. this song gives me goosebumps
+Viktor the Creator Your absolutely right. This interpretation is bloody amazing. The power, the strings, the disco feel... everything! It's musical perfection.
+Viktor the Creator I love Disney, but I love Dreamworks more, in my opinion Dreamworks does everything better than Disney
You are so right, I love Dreamworks music. Possibly even more than I like Disney music, although that really depends on the song.
+Viktor the Creator El Dorado is seriously one of my favorite movies ever :D
This song is my childhood yo.
captain obvious really clocked in overtime here
Your lord and savior Rayenryu ever one who was growing up heard this song, in 2000s and I one of them.
Shrek is literally my whole childhood since i can remember, this is the best animation movie for me and its gonna be for ever😼😆

I'm sorry to say but I prefer this version over the original. Something about this is epic.
+BACONKING Agreed!
I choose this version as well.
So true

So, I am an avid RPG player, and at one point during a fairly intense fight, one of my fellow players used an ability of his to basically put some tiny speakers on our tank's shoulders to buff him. Guess which song started blasting out of the speakers?
Yeah, he wins at D&D.
I remember when I was young and this scene came up. Let me tell you I was shook entirely I started to lose my hair since then.

Jennifer Saunders did a brilliant job performing this song. Even though her character (Fairy Godmother) was Evil, I can't deny the way She sang this song.
And they say sequels are shittier than the first. I call bullshit!
I think the 2nd was the best. 1 & 3 were decent. Everything else doesn't even exist in muh world.
There are two reasons I liked your comment. 1, your comment itself, and 2, your profile picture. good day sir
Shrek 2 - a masterpiece
Shrek 1 - not your usual, but still a fairytail
Shrek 3 - its funny. But not really as good as the first 2

When you think about it the nights did a great job protecting the castle. I mean the party continued uninterrupted while a giant ginger bread man attacked. However they couldn't stop Shrek. Thing is can anyone?

*"COVERS AREN'T BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL"*
Shrek 2: 𝐎𝐁𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐄
And other quotes from a dumb*ss
*John Cena pops up* ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THAT?
True but I rarely find some covers better than the original. Sadly I need a hero's.
until fairy godmother broke that myth.
Lol, that random moent when Dreamworks breaks out the best cover ever created in history for a song. xD
Seriously though, i can't choose which one i like better, the original song, or Shrek 2's cover.
Cussundria Kneal IKR!
How is that even a question? Bonnie Tyler sounds like she was nursing a massive hangover while singing this song...
Cussundria Kneal Ditto. Jenifer Saunders can SING.
Cussundria Kneal the shrek 2 cover for sure
Andrew McFayden Yeah seriously! It's like they wrote a song with epic lyrics but never intended it to serve a purpose, then along came Dreamworks like "No no, here's how you do it."
Okay but does anyone else appreciate what a wonderful job Dreamworks made with this song? The transitions, the choir, the orchestra as a whole.... Honestly such a great piece that told the story in itself and portrayed every emotion amazingly and beautifully♥️🔥. Thank you for uploading this! (Incase you do see this some day lol).

You're wrong, its bonnie tylor theme haha
Couple things:
One, this isn't in Cm
Two, Jennifer Saunders said that she basically had to sing each line over and over to stitch together something usable but damn if it didnt come out great
The C minor is referring to the piece before this song.
Wait why did she have to sing it line by line?
@@moistsquish Because obviously she wasn't very good at singing the song altogether.
