MAN, I've been watching your videos for a while now and I feel that you are the most knowledgeable person when it comes to radio installation. I wish you were closer to me so I can have my radio installed by you.
Looking at the video brings me back to that day, fun stuff. I want to take this opportunity to again thank you guys for the amazing work you did on my car, Paul is lucky to have you guys. After driving my car for a couple of weeks I can tell you that mount is like cement, it does not move at all.
I really like how you pay attention to all the little details. Wish there were installers like you around here. Now I want to upgrade my 2017 Tacoma lol
@@brandonhernandez9260 I went with the Kenwood DMX906S, it was around 800 for everything including the Maestro to map all the stock steering wheel controls. It's around the same size as stock, but has a greater feature set.
I took my truck to this shop thinking they knew what they were doing, and they made a mess out of truck dash. You guys really know what you are doing 👍, too bad you are at the east coast. Good for the truck owner, I bet he is very proud of the work it was done to his truck. Keep it up guys.
Just had the ILX F309FRN W/ Maestro installed in my 17' 4Runner TRD Off Road. Works perfect and looks great! Highly recommend it to anyone looking to replace their factory system.
Holy cow! I drooled over this install and figured these guys were somewhere on the other side of the country from me. Went to their FB page...30 minutes away! Will be calling them for sure.
Closing off the vent holes of the head unit with wedge. Is that a good idea. Electronics and heat built-up does that work? Your dashboard gets super hot in the sunlight.
I installed the ilx-w650 on my 2015 Tacoma and I love it. CarPlay works perfect and it’s everything I need. I even bought an adapter to use CarPlay through my factory usb port
What a win win win Monday...get to watch Dean do nice work...then watch Soundman joke about Rafas mom...then go out in shop and build a box for 2 Skar 18s..fun👍
Note to self, only trust audio techs that have a RUclips channel. That way you know they do a 100 percent job This is a great install and great pride in your work.
So the steering wheel control flash is a one-and-done deal? I was hoping the Maestro could be more accessible if you wanted to change the button configuration...
I like the install but I would not like the free floating screen. What radio would you recommend fir the same truck but have all those features and upgrading all speakers with apps.? And where are you located? I would like for you to install my sterio system with speakers and amp.
My god i a proton today at work made me wanna quit my job lol in out in out drill new holes in the brackets to fit as not brackets were supplied in the facia like honestly took me 3 hrs to get it right and I had to space out the brackets from the dash aswell used tube alloy and it was sweet but the process made me drop my brain in the drain and walk away fml some cars really do my head in in our shop guys I can relate is what im saying being a auto elec and car audio installer for 19 years its not bad job if you get good money if not drop it and move on lol
You've got a lot of stuff there in the beginning. Any chance you could provide a simple part list so the rest of us DIYers can purchase and have the right stuff? Thanks.
I love this video and the cleanness of the work you have done. Seem like you work on a lot of old and new vehicle. On that note I have an old 2001 corolla and I had updated the radio system to a JVC stereo with CD player many years ago. I will like to upgrade it again to a single din android system with touch screen. Do you have any recommendation for such an old car that will work well and fit well for a 2001 corolla?
My question is if you guys give the guy the install fee before the installation beggins and then you just add the extra labor o you do the job first and then charge the customer?
I watched this video a few times, you guys helped me install a pioneer 8400 into my Tacoma just from watching your videos. Thank you for saving me $150 and giving me the confidence that I can install the radio myself. I have the radio in there with a iDatalink Maestro RR ADS-MRR. I am wanting to install a front camera now, do you guys have a recommendation for a front camera? I was thinking about adding the NATIKA Backup/Front View Camera IP69K. Do you guys have a better recommendation?
I’m going to assume you went through all this because this radio is originally not compatible with this truck? I mean the average install is absolutely no where near this.
Thanks for posting this install, i have one question where do you connect the data to data cable because i have also an halo9 but it has no data conection for the rr module. Thanks in advance!
And you get those idiots who wonder why some installs cost a fair bit of money...this...THIS is why...quality custom work so things work as they should. This is a process a lot of people need to see.
Why would u do that to your brand new car? Isnt that against your warranty? And besides i think we do not need a lot of hightech stuff inside the car i mor than prefer those analogs cos when u repair or replace them is much cheaper
Glad I’m not paying for that install. Way too many extra pieces added to make his price go up! Its not playing CD’s so why do you need to add all the support?
Hi, congratulations, your videos are awesome! Can you help me, I have a 2018 Nissan Sentra Advance and I want to replace the factory radio with a custom one. Can you help me telling me which cables (adapters) need to buy to make all the car functions to work? And if you can recommend me a good car stereo like the one on this video for my car. Thanks, i appreciate a lot your help.
Wtf!?!?.... that was exhausting and I didn’t even do the work. There is the saying... “you win some you lose some” Great work but this is considered a loss for the work vs profit but a win for the customer Always love the work and videos. Keep it up
I wish idatalink would tell customers that on subaru forester 2017 and above the vehicle gauges will not work with this radio. Waiting on the rr2 to be released so i can finally add those features
Hello guys . Keep up the good videos . I have a 2007 jeep grand Cherokee laredo. Stock . No nav no Boston I'm new to all aftermarket receivers. I'm looking at pioneer 2330 or 2440 maybe 2550 I go to al these sites . Different harnesses recommended. Can you please point me to the correct cables I need to install Thanks .
how much does an install like this cost? I want to upgrade my stereo unit in my stock 2017 toyota camry to have apple carplay so i can display my navigation up on the screen but I don't want to lose any of the factory features such as back up camera, steering wheel controls, etc
RockU that’s one pricey head unit. I don’t mind having a shop do it for me because I have no idea wtf I’m doing. But I think I’ll have a hard time finding a shop that will do quality work and knows there stuff
I got a alpine 509 and a maestro rr2 and even though everything is connected and the rr is flashed to the Alpine the alpine radio says it’s disconnected and doesn’t see it the vehicle is a Subaru Outback 2012 anyone have any ideas 💡 I went to a radio shop and they couldn’t figure it out they told me everything is connected correctly so I’m kinda lost 😞
So the million dollar question is how do you find an installer as good as this guy in the area you live.
Yeah and they ALL claim they are the best LOL
I need one in charlotte NC
Machiavelli_ G Same, let me know if you find one
There one here in my area with over 15+ years of experience
agree. installers in the area i live will destroy the dash with poor installation.
This craftsmanship is why I’m coming to your shop for my system. Nice work!

It's a truck. Everybody calling it a car. It's a truck.
Can ya tell us what it cost?lol..curious on labor 🤔
I really like how you pay attention to all the little details. Wish there were installers like you around here. Now I want to upgrade my 2017 Tacoma lol
Same here on my 2017 tacoma SR. The oem screen is too small now that I look at most of the 2020 vehicles oem screen 🤷🏽♂️
@@brandonhernandez9260 I ended up getting the top of the line Kenwood unit. I absolutely love it and I love having carplay / Android auto.
Tursko how much was it and what size is the screen if you don’t mind me asking?

Clean AF guys! Going the extra mile is why you guys are so sought after :)

At the 6:00 mark, you had me DYING! I tell everyone to always READ THE INSTRUCTIONS when they are confused - usually, they didn't even look at them.
This is just other reason why you guys are some of the best at this stuff. Places don’t do that around me. Keep up the great work.
Clean and solid build. Love the work you guys put into these installs.
I could sleep at night if I left my car with this guy....great work!!!
Man Dean that is a 5 Star install! absolute perfection! once again thank you for the knowledge!!!!
Closing off the vent holes of the head unit with wedge. Is that a good idea. Electronics and heat built-up does that work? Your dashboard gets super hot in the sunlight.
Yeah I wouldn't mind seeing a follow up toward the end of summer, just to see how it handles the Florida heat.
It can go either two ways, but a follow up series is a good start.
...and that ladies and gentlemen is why Dean makes the big bucks.
Awesome install,Dean you are the best installer I have ever seen
I installed the ilx-w650 on my 2015 Tacoma and I love it. CarPlay works perfect and it’s everything I need. I even bought an adapter to use CarPlay through my factory usb port
Wish you were on west coast. Attention to detail is spot on. Well done.
Thank you for the detailed class but after seeing how professional you are i would feel more comfortable having you install mine :)!
Great video! Thanks for not having a bunch of background music 👍
Outstanding attention to detail! Best aftermarket integration I've seen in a long time. A++

Wait you could find your 10mm sockets to do the job??? You guys are gods!!!
Your attempts are futile.
So the steering wheel control flash is a one-and-done deal? I was hoping the Maestro could be more accessible if you wanted to change the button configuration...
Just curious about the cooling since you covered the vent holes
Too bad no shop will ever do such amazing work!!!
I like the Halo9 because it reminds of the stock head unit in the 2018 and up Honda Accord in a good way.
What was the out the door price of a job like that???
Just 3-4 truck payments 😂
Think the deck alone is 3-4 grand..in Canada anyway probably 800 labor with the amount of times Dean was in and out of the vehicle
I like that install. Floating screen looked badass
Yall should sell kits with everything included for what the customer wants. Like all speakers, amps, a head unit, and all wiring
You were very patient...and professional. Thanks for your video!!
Beautiful Alpine and install. Looks factory OEM!
Nice! .. this was the install I was waiting for. Now can go with a 5 channel amp , speakers and sub. Thank you 5 Star!
I like the install but I would not like the free floating screen. What radio would you recommend fir the same truck but have all those features and upgrading all speakers with apps.? And where are you located? I would like for you to install my sterio system with speakers and amp.

Wow! I Love your work you deserve a trophy. Very professional, wish I could have my Tacoma done by you..👍👍👍
They should make the dash kit with reinforcement brackets included, would save a lot of time and it shouldn't be much more because it's plastic.
Great attention to detail. Which you li ed in my area. Again, great job.
This install needs to go in the highlight reel..
I’m going to assume you went through all this because this radio is originally not compatible with this truck? I mean the average install is absolutely no where near this.
Looks Great, what do you guys think of the OEM audio + systems for Toyota’s and Subaru’s?
Thank you for this video. I have a Tacoma and was considering the Alpine, I think I'll look at more conventional head units now.
Thanks for posting this install, i have one question where do you connect the data to data cable because i have also an halo9 but it has no data conection for the rr module.
Thanks in advance!
The Halo is not RR data compatible
wait... the all the vent "cooling" holes on the radio get covered? 🤔
Can you guys do one aftermarket install for a 5th gen 4runner similar to this video?
And you get those idiots who wonder why some installs cost a fair bit of money...this...THIS is why...quality custom work so things work as they should. This is a process a lot of people need to see.
to take out the radio was so simple compared to other cars and models
@FiveStarCarStereo Were you able to retain the factory bluetooth microphone?
I need this whole deal in my 2013 camaro v6.
I want to add the alpine status package. Location?
Why would u do that to your brand new car? Isnt that against your warranty? And besides i think we do not need a lot of hightech stuff inside the car i mor than prefer those analogs cos when u repair or replace them is much cheaper
the floating screen is what kills it for me. it's so non-oem looking. Crutchfield don't make the install appear like this lol.
Is this a typical installer job to expect or is this guy God level installer?
What can a customer expect to pay for this scope of work? All parts included?
Great job...please do one 4runner limited 5 gen
Great video. Was there any functionality lost? For example, can you still see the radio info in the gauge cluster?
Is that thick centra not covering the venting slots
I had my Halo 9 installed a few days ago. But I can’t access the “setup” app on the head unit. Do I need to bypass anything to access?
I wish this guy wasn’t an hour away 😝🤣🤣
will this set up retain on dash info?? like what song you playing or gps instructions????
I do my installations very similar to this. Great job.
Were you able to retain the factory microphone?
Very nice install. Thank you for the video.
Glad I’m not paying for that install. Way too many extra pieces added to make his price go up! Its not playing CD’s so why do you need to add all the support?
This is an installer you PAY ONCE..... I wish he was in my city
An expert job if I ever saw one!
you selling these reinforcement parts, because ill buy.
What about the turn by turn screen in the center of the dash. is it still available after stock radio is removed?
Have you done any upgrades to a 2017 civic with the Orem 7 inch screen?
which radio would better the halo 9 or, the pioneer nex wt7600? for user interface?

Great install
Does this come with rca inputs to add aftermarket amps
