I gather its 50x50 and 75x50.. keen to know the wall thickness and the series of aluminium (6060, 6061, 6005A or 6082) I have been trying to source aluminium for months but cant find what I want with radius corners. Your aluminium looks sick!! Keep up the mad work. If you can let me know what materials you used I'd be grateful.
Hey mate cheers for the comment 🤙🏻 the main frame is 50x50 under the ally and yeah 75x50 is the outer boarder all 3 mm except the main rails underneath and mounts they are 5-6 mm c channel. Not sure what grade it was from memory mate. Where are you located ?
@@Ozoffroad_ legend thank you for the speedy reply. I'm in melbourne, I'm guessing but probably wrong; your in QLD? So all the 50x50 and 75x50 is 3mm. With radius corners.. I'm guessing at that size it has to be 6060 aluminium. They are the sizes I have been looking for, for months now. But can only find it in 6060. I really wanted to use 6061 as it is a structual grade of aluminium used in the transport industry but cant find it anywhere. Really looking forward to your third video on the build cos that tray is coming up SICK!! I no longer have a MIG so I will be doing mine 100% TIG gonna be a drainer. Lol
Aww sweet as man yeah won’t be long now for the 3rd vid I’m going to make a 4th one as well when it’s powder coated and installing the water tank and all the finish touches. Yeah man I am in qld if you were up this way I would be able to help you out with the ally but sucks yiur down there haha good luck with your build man I would have hated to do mine %100 tig but I do prefer the look of it haha but you won’t see my shitty mig welds under the tray 😂
@@Ozoffroad_ LOL your mig welds arent that bad mate.. no one is gonna see them and as long as they are strong who cares what they look like 😉. Funny thing about TIG welding mine is I'm going to sand all of mine smooth before powder coating so there are no visible welds any where. I'm going for the super clean look. 😂🤣 who did you by your ali off in QLD I'd like to see if they have a web page and see what materials they have. It might be my only option.

@@Ozoffroad_ oh nice mate, tray turned out micky too btw 👌🏻 I just went and bought my self the unimig viper 180 acdc, just getting the feel for it on stainless till I'm confident enough for ally. Got a tray I need to build for my GQ
@@Matthewrandone aww nice mate I was gonna go unimig but I already had a cigweld mig welder so I went with the cigweld tig as well. Good luck with it mate I need to practice more on stainless haha.
@@Ozoffroad_ ahaha thought I'd learn stainless first since it's a bit easier till I get my technique down pat ill move to ally, finished making a CAD of my tray, used your video a bit for references etc, gonna be hard for me with the toolboxes and mud guards since it's going on a GQ iv gotta cut the mudguard in half etc, but ah well ill work it out, how long did it take you to do from start to finish?
