Hi sir, Can you discuss single phase semi converter with RLE load, here extra free wheeling diode is needed or not for RLE load. many text books explaining with free wheeling diode. i have doubt why free wheeling diode is needed. As per my knowledge, free wheeling diode is not needed for semi converter with RL or RLE load. is it right.....

why there's no negative output when L discharge?

I think its because of the fact that we consider both D2 and T1 as a short. Since we're measuring the output voltage between these two, we'll be effectively measuring nothing. In order to see some sort of voltage we should measure on the resistor, wich i think its pretty much impossible irl, since that resistor is a symbol for all the resistances found in a motor.

    Why T1 get shorted ?
If shorted due to inductors high negative on anode
Then same we can say for D1 having more high on cathode due to inductor... Means D1 also get shorted n?
