    We bought a '23 450 three months ago. We chose the 450 because we both tend to drive heavy-footed and the 350 felt strained. We also frequently drive through mountains and I need to be able to pass going uphill. If you aren't a speed demon the 350 is fine- surprisingly powered. Some things I've noted: infotainment isn't the best, frustrating the first 1-2 months, Apple play is meh, and we have all the safety features turned off that you can turn off. The adaptive cruise brakes hard -throw you forward hard, if someone changes lanes 4 car lengths in front of you or going around a bend, can't stand it and so now I can't use cruise control. Would prefer much less interface with the screen and way more buttons, it's fingerprint city, distracting, and a slow way to change settings. My opinion is just because we have the technology doesn't mean we should. The suv drives smooth, we both frequently find ourselves driving 15-20 mph faster than what we thought we were doing - thankfully no tickets yet. It definitely feels luxurious inside and is very comfortable. For myself I am looking at a Cayenne but I may order it so I can forego the options I don't care for. That's my other complaint with auto manufacturers - packages add things like 22" wheels, panoramic roofs, and more tech that not all people want.

      I think the 450e is the sweet spot, sporty yet still fuel efficient.

    If I had the money, I'd buy this today. Perfect color, perfect build. This is much better than the 350 and I don't need and AMG. I am disappointed that the dealer uses stock photos.

    Just traded my 2016 GLE350 for a 2023 GLE350. Was disappointed in the power decrease from the previous generation, but couldn't justify the price increase for the 450 over the 350. Didn't even drive the 450 so as to not tempt myself, hahaha.

      It’s disgusting what these manufacturers are doing and please don’t use these idiotic European emissions at EPA standards as an excuse to give you less power. You could use as an excuse if these manufacturer didn’t slobber all over themselves and tell everyone how wonderful it is to meet these new regulations and cars were immoral before these new regulations Mercedes-Benz needs to step up. I’m gonna look at 450 but if they don’t take off MSRP they can take a hike.

    • @MercOne
      @MercOne Год назад +7

      You're missing out. A Lexus will never drive like a Mercedes. Unless you're keeping for a longer term, it won't cost much more than a Lexus during a typical 3-4 year lease. I own a Lexus also and isn't cheap to service as it ages.

      Mercedes is not too bad to maintain. It's expensive to repair, and the extended warranty is worth it. It won't be that much to maintain a new one at all.

    If I ever got a MB I'd lease it.
    My friends wife had a 2021 model year, technically it came out in 2020, GLE and well...9 recalls in 2021 and 4 in 2022,!
    So much for “The Best or Nothing."
    She traded it in right before that 3rd 2022 recall, and got a 2022 MDX Advanced trim. Not as plush...but 0 issues a little under 1 year into ownership.

    • @MercOne
      @MercOne Год назад

      Issues or recalls? They aren't always the same thing. A recall is done in some cases to prevent and issue that the owner isn't even aware of yet. There isn't a single brand that is immune to recalls.

    • @zbabyg6998

      This is NOT a 2024. The 2024 build configs are not yet available to the dealers. In addition, the 2024 GLE will incorporate Mercedes’ “super screen” like the C and S models - which this model doesn’t show.

      @@AmarnathShenoy High maintenance is a myth. I have / had several Mercedes past 30 years and if you keep them for over 12 to 15 years, the overall cost of ownership is less than or equal to Toyota. Just make sure you change oil every 5K miles and do complete maintenance every 80K - rear diff oil change, spark plugs, coolant, belt and pulleys, brake (all of it - rotor, disk etc.), engine mounts, new tires. This service will cost you 5K. But your car will last for ever. I have several high mileage Mercs and they purr like kitten. Great cars.

    Great video, I was very impressed with thiis SUV. But who puts $95K in a GLE? Might as well pay a few extra bucks and get a GLS. That said, the GLE450 is a great looking ride. The only problems I have with Mercedes is they moved the gear shift to the column. Just like my grandfathers 57 Chevy. They certainly have room for a console gear shifter but chose to put that stupid mouse (or whatever the hell it is) there instead. Lastly, I've had 2 Mercedes vehicles in the past but I always lease. Given Mercedes reliability issues I would NEVER outright purchase without an extended warranty. Besides, unless you are going to keep the car for 7-10 years, leasing is cheaper.

    You always want to lease german cars, because while they’re the best when they work, they’re horrible when they break. If you lease you get to drive it before it breaks, and it’s in warranty! The GLE has a gorgeous interior, but the exterior looks like a Chevy Blazer, not to mention the BMW X5 is faster, SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper, better MPG, and definitely looks better.

      Agree with the leasing. Agree with BMW pricing, but the rest is really subjective. Ppl like what they like 🤷🏾‍♂️. Can’t go wrong either or. I would lease a BMW vs purchasing as well. My experience with Lexus is diff tho. But I think ultimately leasing is the way to go since that negative equity ppl carry car to car is just a never ending revolving door of paying down your old debt differences when you trade-in/up
