This is a video in my Speculative Fiction Studies series, which examines and analyses key aspects of classic and contemporary works in the genres that fall under the broad rubric of speculative fiction. This includes fantasy, science fiction, horror, alternate history, weird, cyberpunk, utopian, post-apocalyptic, and superhero fiction, among other genres
This video focuses on Howard Phillips Lovecraft's story The Call of Cthulhu, a classic work of cosmic horror and absolutely central to what will later come to be called the Cthulhu mythos. It discusses the dreams that the sculptor Henry Anthony Wilcox has, investigated by Professor Angell, which lead him to produce a bas-relief of Cthulhu, and culminate in a vision of a "mountain that walks". As it turns out, other sensitive souls also receive communications in their dreams from the Great Old Ones lying in their tombs in the city of R'lyeh

I wonder Dr Sadler if you have every seen Season 2, Episode 8 of "Night Gallery" Professor Peabody's Last Lecture. It is the last vinette of the episode.
I think you would appreciate that piece.

Probably. Looking at the summary of it, I suspect you get more out of it than I would
