I'd never heard of this one mate, will definitely be checking it out based on your review! I can imagine it being in the HMV sale at some point, they just had a pretty decent sale on second sight recently 👌

Amazing movie but the 4k transfer was a huge let down, I didn’t see any good comparisons online so decided to pull the trigger and honesty it's not a huge improvement. The set is lovely, but I would hold off for a sale for this one. You know it's bad when 20 minutes in you convince yourself you've stuck the blu ray on by mistake. One of my all time favorite films just a shame the 4k is pretty soft and only seems like a slightly improved blu ray rather than the 4k I was expecting after watching SS's green room recently.

But for something shot on film 20 years ago, i thought it looked great. More the hdr than resolution. As u know it’s not a flashy film. It’s got a fairly monochromatic colour palette but the highlights, contrast n’ shadow detail help considering it’s shot mostly at night. My recommendation was the blu ray but if ur a big fan and/ or enjoy HDR especially, then for a couple of extra quid the 4k is worth it IMO. I personally don’t like paying £24.99 for any release. I’m always looking for a sale, but that’s because i’m a tight scotsman 🏴😂
Not yet mate. I love the movie and seen it loads. I have the film four blu ray currently. I’m not thrilled with the 4k steel design if i’m honest. Trainspotting’s artwork is so iconic of the 90s, would have preferred it’s OG artwork. I might pick up the standard 4K nearer the time as have T2 (not that T2 lol) on 4k 👍
Not quite mate, i just put that up in brackets as that was the mode my tv was in when the photos were taken. Just to give people a point of reference 👍 My tv has two dolby vision settings; dark and bright. Each tone map the brightness levels differently for different viewing environments. Bright is the most impactful but slightly inaccurate as everything is raised to combat glare, like say excessive light in a bright living room during the day. Dark is for a light controlled room, like a home theatre or man cave. It’s the most faithful to the hdr / DV experience the creator intended. And dolby vision is basically just an advanced form of HDR. Not every device is capable of displaying it tho. In general having dolby vision on a disc is good thing, a brucey bonus lol I did a full video on HDR if u want to know more. U can look it up. Thanks for ur comment mate 👍

Can't remember if i saw this one, but i have seen I saw the Devil. Second Sight are just as good as Arrow with their special editions. I have Criterions Blow Out coming today.
That’s a film i haven’t seen, Blow Out. I like de palma as well but a fair amount of his i haven’t seen actually. I agree that Second Sight are s great label. And they have scene selection on their discs! Does my nut in that arrow don’t. Ridiculous i think! 🤷🏻♂️😩
I really enjoyed Longlegs mate, wasn’t easy for me but glad i braved it. Really good horror/thriller. I thought it lived up to the hype but then remember i don’t watch a lot of horror so might have been a novelty factor for me. If u check out my letterboxd mate, i did a ‘long’ (😉) review of it lol seeing D&W at Braehead IMAX on thurs 😃👌
