I found her through the SNL performance. I don't ever watch SNL, but they were saying this singer did worse than Ashley Simpson, so I looked it up expecting something horrendous and it was Lana. I thought it was very good, very unique and soft. I've been a fan ever since.

that's why her album is still in the Billboard top 200, to date :) Lana Del Rey's 'Born to Die' Becomes One of Only Three Albums by Women With 300 Weeks on Billboard 200 Chart
ngl I missed this kind of cinematic and romanticized Lana. She's so distinctive from all the artists both before and her current times. Although her newer albums are great too, Born to Die and Ultraviolence are just unique pieces of art.
True. This dreamcore Lana from 2012-2014 was not from this world. Thats scary how perfect she was. Maybe the pressure was too high, to keep perfom on that level.
I don’t think she means dying literally. She means their relationship is meant to die. So she’s asking, just keep making me laugh, don’t make me cry or sad because eventually this will be over so let’s just fill it with what we want. Whether she’s leaving him, or he does, it’s coming to an end.
The beginning of this song will forever send chills down my spine. The first Lana song that made me realize that she was for me. Someone who so effortlessly captured my feelings for life and my confusions. All of my questions about life and death and purpose, reason, she also has those same questions. Brilliantly and poetically crafted into a marvel of beauty. This song means more to me than any other song could. This is my truest testimony, my modern manifesto. I am eternally grateful to have lived in the same time as Lana Del Rey and even more-so that I was able to listen to Born To Die. This is art, this is love, this is our lives. Tell that the the Grammy Award is like the Popular Kid at school... Just because they're popular, doesn't automatically mean they're a good person. Just like an album or artist not winning a Grammy doesn't mean they aren't absolutely amazing or deserving of it. This is not depressive but melancholy, nostalgic, poignant and intense. It gives you the feeling of something lost, something that used to be beautiful and mesmerizing but now it's gone like a childhood sensation. It makes me think about the time I visited the place I grew up in thinking I would feel the same as when I was youg, but it didn't happen.
lana del rey sings about grief in her songs the thing with grief for me is that its about loss but when grief is felt its transformational . We can go back to the places in our childhood and see them with eyes of joys. The feelings of joy and wonder and curiousity of the inner child are available to when I start loving , reparenting and protecting and speaking up for that inner child it becomes safe for him, to come out and express himself more
I remember listening to this in highschool and my mom coming in my room asking me “are u depressed again?” So this comment is boosting me I FEEL SEEN!!
I'm just discovering her music now at 48yo and I feel like I've missed out on so much all along. It's interesting to see how her music has evolved over time. I'm addicted, TBH.
This song is used to be my late ex's favorite. Whenever I want to remember her, I play this song. We used to play this song while I'm driving our car at night together through boulevards of Chicago. Such sweet memories I can't ever get em back, but always entertain me everytime I remember them.
It's 2020 and I'm crying in my room now thinking about how many memories this song made for me over the past 8 years. Lana is such an icon, her songs never get old.
The melancholy in her songs are so magnetic.. they pull you in closer and closer and you want to hear more of her.. until you feel really sad and depressed and yet you want more and more of her cuz it somehow connects you to yourself.. the "you" you abandoned deep deep inside, the "you" that needs healing and thus you come closer to spiritual evolution through her music. Lana Del Rey is a wonder that we are blessed to have in this era. A woman with an old soul.. with more alignment to the source energy and thus you feel "high" listening to her, because she without a doubt is spiritually on a more elevated level to be able to create masterpieces of art. True art like hers comes from spiritual awakening, no one can be faking stuff like this.
I can't believe that it's been 9 years. My life has been a roller coaster since these song was released. So many things, places and people have changed.
God pure ecstasy....feels high and sad and relaxed and all confused feeling...one of my favourite songs ever. I listen her for 9 years, from the same beginning...still touches me deep inside. Can't even describe...

Lana from 2012-2014 was from another world. This 50‘s vibes, with this Hollywood attitude are magical. Doin‘ Time was maybe her last song with this powerful magic. She perfected Dreamcore, that's what she did best and that's what defined her. Her new Songs and her voice Are still good, no question. I think she would not be Not that famous, if she started with her new Songs. The unreachable, iconic, vintage girl has gone.

I still remember the first time listening to this album. On a flight to Russia to start a whole new chapter as a college student summer 2012. When I listened to this album I wasn't thinking about any of that, no anxieties, no fear, no uncertainties. I was just thinking how beautiful this music was and from that time on Id use her very music to study to sleep, to dream. Born to Die.
Love this song it' captures the emotion of knowing your in a toxic relationship but the desire and love and hope for it to improve when you know it won't.
I don't have any words in my head to express how I feel when I'm listening to her songs. It's barely been a week since the day I got to know her name and songs and I completely got immersed in her songs. You rock Lana Del Rey!!!!

If you're reading this, congratulation, you have a great taste of music.. Its a pity for Grammy's that they don't recognize what's true music, this lady has produced magic over the years..
My late fiancé and I had such a crazy relationship he ended up passing but the love we had was so much of this intensity. He was my best friend, my love, my soulmate, and before he passed, before I met him and I heard this song and it was so intense to me.

Her music is not depressing to me, it tells beautiful stories and i actually listen to her music when I am prepping.... This song is factual we were all born to die, we are not the queen of England..
This song reminds me of the very best and the very worst mutually destructive relationships I've ever had, all at the same time. I've been in a healthy relationship for years and I wouldn't change that, but this song almost makes me miss the crazy, tumultuous times I had in the past...
her lyrics, they feel like she loved someone so hard like they were soo in love and then one day that someone was no more and her world came crashing down and such beautiful songs came out of it, breathtakingly beautiful ❤.

I can not add anything!!!
Да просто она бесноватая бабца, которая, как сирена затаскивает в омут греха и саморазрушения. А всякие мокрощелки дифирамбы поют ей.
Hell yeah. couldnt have said that better myself

Speak on it! My whole life feels like a long Lana del Rey song, some days! Fortunately, my marriage is nothing short of amazing!
Or that its meant to be!
As time goes on people will understand how underrated was this song ❤

Why, who me, why?
Feet don't fail me now
Take me to your finish line
Oh my heart it breaks every step that I take
But I'm hoping that the gates, they'll tell me that you're mine
Walking through the city streets
Is it by mistake or design?
I feel so alone on a Friday night
Can you make it feel like home if I tell you you're mine?
It's like I told you, honey
Don't make me sad, don't make me cry
Sometimes love is not enough and the road gets tough, I don't know why
Keep making me laugh
Let's go get high
The road is long, we carry on
Try to have fun in the meantime
Come take a walk on the wild side
Let me kiss you hard in the pouring rain
You like your girls insane
So choose your last words, this is the last time
'Cause you and I, we were born to die
Lost but now I am found
I can see but once I was blind
I was so confused as a little child
Tried to take what I could get
Scared that I couldn't find
All the answers, honey

I still remember the first time listening to this album. On a flight to Russia to start a whole new chapter as a college student summer 2012. When I listened to this album I wasn't thinking about any of that, no anxieties, no fear, no uncertainties. I was just thinking how beautiful this music was and from that time on Id use her very music to study to sleep, to dream.
Born to Die.

Yes. You actually realise that her album was released at a non opportune time. It is what it is.
