Do you know it like the back of your hand now? Hi Hi Thanks for your kind words. Glad you found the video useful. That's why I posted it. Barry, KU3X/QRP
You should have a table of contents in your description. Great video but I find myself returning to you tube to remember how to do things not just learning. Thanks for the video.
I have the KX3, now I ordered a KX2 for camping and It will arrive this Wednesday. Thanks for jump starting the operation ! Best Luck es DX. 72, 73. Lee, WA8QFE
The KX2 is not a, "One radio do all" like you FT-817, but it is a much better radio for performance and, "Grab and Go!" I have two each of the batteries Elecraft sells that go with the radio. Good luck and I hope you enjoy the KX2 as much as I do. Barry, KU3X
Barry, your videos on amateur radio are excellent. Thank you for your straight forward, no nonsense approach in presenting your subject. I own a KX3 currently and will be getting one of these little gems soon as well. 72/73 Brent VA3YG
Thank you for your response. I am sure you will enjoy the KX2. I love operating portable but I wanted a radio that is super small and packs punch. The KX2 does it. Great battery life and for me, 5 watts out is perfect. I never use more than that for QRP. Barry
@@downsouthsafaris6788 Size, the KX2 is smaller and lighter, a great grab and go rig. Power efficiency, the KX2 is really stingy. Internal battery is brilliant, operate at full power if you’d like with no external power source. The KX3 bulky, heavy, AA batteries can’t do that.
Thanks for explanation. I realize this is a nice grab and go unit. I’m considering this vs a kx3. Do you think not having a pan adapter limits you with this? Thanks
The addition of the pan adapter is a personal preference. I have the pan adapter for my KX3 and I am not impressed with it. That's not to say that it is not a good product, I just don't like the way it operates. I like the way the pan adapter on my TS990S works. Barry
Does the DUAL RECEIVE Function with the Headphone on, Give you dual receive in Both headphones, or do you get Dual Receive like VFO A in your left ear and VFO B in your right ear ? thanks.
The left ear is for the main VFO and the right ear is for the SUB VFO. It’s kind of hard to tell since both audio levels are equal and you only have one audio level control. So the answer is, “Yes.”
Turn the multi function knob. It will scroll through numerous display items, like Time, Voltage, current drain and more. If the display shows VFO B, then tap the, "DISP" button to get out of the VOF mode. Barry, KU3X
This is excellent!! I have watched this video several times. Thank you!

Thanks Barry , awesome tutorial. Love my KX2 , I've had it for 6 months and really like it.
Good video, no loud irritating music, straight to the point.
Thank you. I try to make my videos as informative as I can without all the drama.

It's appreciated. Thank you.

Why would you want the KX3 AND the KX2? What situations (portable) does the KX2 have failings over the KX3 other than 6m and 160m?

I bought the SIDE KX End panels, Longer Tail Leg, and their VFO Knob.
We'll see thow these work !
