More than likely whatever you ran into that busted the hydro shield would have probably trashed your prop. My guess is that it might have even saved you from prop damage or maybe even having to be towed in
I used it right off the bat.. so I had no numbers to compare. i think the physics behind it (as it directs prop wash aft, as apposed to downward) makes since, and therefore should help fuel efficiency.

Obvi... yes, prob is now a paper weight
Possibly over torqued? Not saying thats definite but if i get one i will buy my own hardware and be mindful if torque. Maybe even use rubber washers?
hand tight... the locking washer was really tight. Hydro Shield did send me new hardware for free! They have great customer service.
