I am not a plant breeder but confused after watching your lecture. What is the advantage of RIL if the ultimate goal is to produce AA or aa plants since we start from AA and aa plants. Next please also clarify how homozygosity is obtained after selfing of F2 generation since some of the F2 plants will be AA or aa, if we will do selfing then there may not be any use of recombination. Thanks

i think bcse ril population contains linkage blocks of both parents

    Namaskar
    1) F11 recombinant line means developed in 11 th segregation generation of SSD ? M i right ?
    2) what is difference between isogenic and near isogenic line NIL and how to developed ? please make videos or explain me here sir.

in case of backcrossing some of linked allele with gene of intrest of donor parent is also transferred in recurrent parent so the genetic constitution of resultant is some what differ in 2to 3 locuses thats why its called NIL and devlopeed during lingake mapping by repaeted backcrossing and ISOGENIC lines are devloped at tym of multiline variety formation they differ only 1locus i.e. diesase resistant locus.
