The 2025 Subaru Ascent is not available on their Website "Build A Subaru" yet as of 09-01-24. So how he was able to obtain a 2025 is questionable or incorrect. Also, they do plan to give the option of hybrid capability to the Ascent. I wish Subaru would give the "option" of dash cam technology front and rear coupled with their Eye Sight feature. It would be an easy add on/option that many customers would seek.
Another future option wish (often spoke about in Subaru columns/pods) (1) give the technology "faster chips" - at times the screen are laggy compared to the competition. If it is an upgrade charge for a faster chip I think customers would purchase the feature. (2) Improve the color cameras! This has been a constant concern for many owners. Although their quality is acceptable they should really give this thought.
But this is not the 2025, right? It's not listed on Subaru's website and I haven't seen any at any Subaru Dealers that I have looked at. I don't think the 2025 has even been revealed yet, so how do you claim this is 2025? Genuinely curious.
Iv'e leased Subaru's for over 15 yrs, and the Ascent was my favorite. (3 Outback's & 1 Ascent) Roomy enough for me. Peppy enough for commuting. I didn't think the MPG's were awful. If any complaint from me it was just a little bland style wise. But I loved it. Great review as always Everyman Driver.
People that complain about this vehicle haven’t either driven it or own one so they have no idea that it’s a nice ride and it owns up to its name as a subie.
Still digging my 2019 Ascent Limited. However I am still waiting for Subie to build my Wilderness Edition Hybrid Ascent. Gimmie that plus 3 more inches of legroom in the 3rd row and I’ll be 1st in line for a trade in.
I don't think Subaru release Ascent 2025 yet in the media. It's only speculation. They will release this coming fall. Mentioned about adding hybridization.
I owned a Subaru once, the seats were very stiff and not meant for touring. What a great little responsive fun car it was tho. I cant see anyone enjoying a lengthy drive in one, however.
I had a 2005 Outback. The seats were awful, like sitting on plywood. And, with no telescoping steering column, the driving position was bad, too if you are tall. The new ones are much, much better. They finally added a fully adjustable passenger seat to higher trims as well, a few years ago. Took them long enough!
Had a 2002 Legacy GT & 2006 WRX (Jdm) & presently a Exiga, I go on road trips with them & no complain from my family. In fact we ditch the comfortable but boring Nissan Serena for the fun turbo charged EJ20 when it comes to road trips 😂
Super stiff? 2016 crosstrek frabric seats are comfortable enough to sleep in but my in-laws 2018 forester has the stiffest fake leather seats it's unbearable just to drive over an hour
I will keep my 2013 Nissan Xterra over this ugly thing. They need to make a cool looking SUV like the 4-Runner, or Passport, etc... No way I would consider buying this Ascent. I might consider the Crosstrek.
Ugly interior. Completely dated. 10 year old styling. Tech is atrocious. Subaru has missed the mark on most of their fleet with exception of WRX. Even that is behind the times on design. Great video.
Have you actually owned a Subaru? I own a 2021 ascent and LOVE IT! People like you obsess over “looks” and not on quality, comfort and longevity. Go ahead and get a Mercedes, they look great but will only last you a few years without draining your pockets. Tech on the sobie is AMAZING by the way. They have technology that higher end cars don’t. See you at the Subaru dealer. 😂
@@OmarDeLaCruz-y7s no. I wouldn’t own one. Again, I think you missed the point that it is dated, in design (which is what I do), and technology. That, they have missed. Can’t argue that. Their sales show that as well. Never commented on build quality, commented on design and tech and that is not good. I won’t be at a dealer anytime soon. Thx though.
@@dustinm8800 I don’t want to start an argument. The Subaru Ascent have the same engine of the WRX, we love our and when we need the power to show up it does nicely. Subaru vehicles are not meant for everyone.

This is the onyx edition right?
the cvt is the deal killer next is the turbo.

Didn’t think the 2025 was available yet? I know they announced the changes but they said to expect it in the fall.

What mileage would you trust the CVT for the Ascent?

very nice car
Subaru puts zero effort in their exterior designs
I agree! The only Subaru I might consider is the Crosstrek Wilderness.
Who cares. It’s what makes a Subaru, a Subaru. And it sells so that’s YOUR opinion.
We have an ascent, it looks good to me, but all 3 row crossovers look pretty close. The new Mazda 90 looks better than most.
The front end isn't the best looking.
Crazy. This doesn't look bad

CVT for this size reason for people not to like it.
Super uncomfortable seats. Hope they updated that in 2025.

@@Jordan-or8wufunny, I test drove the 2025 Forester and loved it. The seats were not the greatest but tolerable. The Ascend is terrible.
I love the Nappa Leather seats in our Outback Touring (own two!). They are very comfortable and adjustable. It's well worth the price point.
Hasn’t improved since it came out. Hard sell on a vehicle lacking sales.
Mazda cx70
Subaru aren't known for design though. They're all about functionality outside.
It is not roomy in the third row at all.
Man that screen is still ugly

I don't think it's attractive or stylish at all
Pure sales pitch on this lemon.
Gotta love opinions.

Rugged capability 😅
It's very slow. It's not very roomy or attractive
It’s not very slow. You obviously haven’t driven one. My mechanic love to punch of mine.
@ericpizarro3084 driven several. Lol. Don't tell me what I have and have not driven. It's also a cvy. 🤮 🤮

@@ericpizarro3084 the base non fast wrx. It's not an attractive suv. It's functional. Lots of cheap parts. Not a fan of it.
CVT and no effort exterior looks🤷🏽♂️
