Probably so far the best video dedicated to this topic Me watching this video : Yes instructor. Adam watching me get rekt: No I'm not your instructor u noob
I was flying a wyvern in clouds and I saw a black dot on my six .I guess it's a fighter chasing me because I happened to notice there's one thunderbolt missing .It was below the clouds with his teammates so I began a shallow dive and got out of the clouds and voilà that p47 was on my tail .I performed a deep dive and then a split S . Wyvern lost much speed when it turns so I didn't kiss the floor though it was close . The p47 seemed to forget he has air brake and try following this and crashed .That's what a noob like me can do at his best .
My issue is I'm too reliant on zooming in to score my kills, and the smaller field of vision throws off my aim. Or I'll reflexively zoom in just before I shoot, and that throws my aim off. I've done it for years now. It's a hard habit to kick, and my aim without zooming in is so bad.
Adam, amazing tutorial. Is there any way that you can make a short reversal video where we see your point of view, but also from the opponent's point of view as well? I know it would certainly help me to see exactly what you are doing. If not, no worries and thanks for the great channel!
This may sound like a stupid question but I am going to ask it. When doing the last reversal on the G56 after u pitch in to him and then pitch up are u using keyboard or the mouse for that. Also when u flip over for the shot are using the keyboard to try and line up your shot or are you pointing your cursor to where u think he will be. Thanks in advance great tutorial.
When doing maneuvers except for strictly dodging, I always use mouse for the pitch (elevator). I always use keyboard to help with the roll though. Thanks mate!
Adam514 oh dude i do have this couple of things id really look forward for somone to cover on: 1. how to clutch, or atleast maximize the chance of winning in 1 v many fights 2. How to win in general Those are 2 of my suggestions. Id really like to know how you look at it, feel free to have it in mind and good luck to your channel
Nice lecture, as always! By the way, can I ask you a basic lesson about MEC? Sometimes you use MEC like rad, manual prop pitch in your videos. However, since I completely have no idea about MEC, I can't understand why you use those techniques at that moment at all. If you mind, ofc you don't have to do! Always thanks for your nice videos and have a good day!
Thanks! The most basic (and useful) MEC setting is the radiator. The bigger the radiator opening (%), the more cooling the engine/liquid gets, but also the more drag. If you're running away from someone, you should put the rads to 0%, but when you're climbing you should set them around 30%-50% to not overheat and keep WEPing. There are tutorials on RUclips for MEC, then after you set it up you can practice. Things like prop pitch airbrake are very advanced, it's not worth learning when you're just starting MEC.
Hey Adam, im currently flying the Yak 3P. When there are Japanese planes tailing me i always find it dificult to reverse, because the wings rip at 683 km/h. What i tried doing is bringing it to a low speed dogfight and outturn him with flaps. The A6Ms will be above you most of the time. BTW great video.
Yeah Russians have a tough time with Japanese. Do not try to turn with them, that's the worst thing you can do. Extend away towards friendlies if you don't have the energy advantage.
That P47 start shooting 800m away? I used to see them shoot 2 km away and I catch fire from random single hit. BTW thank you for the tricks, best WT RUclips channel and finally hearing your voice much better
very nice video! 1 suggestion is if you can make a part 2 to this and have a scenario were you are at equal energy states with your attacker. i find this scenario to be slightly more difficult, and it takes longer to get a clean reversal with no damage. Cheers. :)
You can always reduce your energy by throttling down and diving. Also, if you are at equal energy states you are better off retreating towards teammates, it's safer.
If you're in the faster plane you should run, and if you aren't faster you are probably more maneuverable, so turn and roll a bit to throw his aim off and then pitch up. It's something I do often, but it's always better not to get in that situation.
Thanks for the vid. I always have issues with reversals and anything on my 6. Thanks for providing great techniques. I watch all your vids. So educational. Thanks man!
Great video yet again. I have a couple of things that I'd love to understand. 1. It seems like you think roll rate is more important than turn rate is for achieving reversals. Is this because you will usually have very little time to aim and hence you will usually need to be able to orient your plane very quickly? 2. In your clip at 5 mins, what should the Spitfire Mk XVIII have done rather than pitching up? 3. Great call on adding your voice. Are you from Quebec by any chance?
Thanks a lot mate! 1. Both are important. You need the turn and the roll to orient your guns on target in the 5-10s window to get the shot. These reversals were the clean and easy to explain type, with a lot of gun time (if needed) so that aim is less of a requirement (but still a big one). 2. He should have pitched up a few seconds earlier, right when I start the aggressive roll. He kept going straight until he was within 300m, which made me able to pitch up at around 80° instead of the 120° required if he had pitched up earlier. Of course, if he pitches up to early, I just continue on my way and escape, and that's why he didn't. He also could have slowed down to stay behind me, he was going about 125+km/h faster when the ideal is around 50km/h. 3. Haha yes I am! My accent gave me away?
Thank you mate :) 1. Cool I understand. I guess roll rate is particularly helpful (and more helpful than turn rate) in denying a firing angle to an approaching enemy? 2. That's so helpful. Thank you :) 3. I spent some time in Montreal a few years ago (and I've watched a lot of ice hockey) so I think I'm often able to spot a Quebec accent :)
1. It's hard to say which one is more important. You don't need excessive roll, and you don't need excessive turn (bleeds speed), so there's a sweet spot (imo, Tempest Mk V). 3. Nice! I actually live in Montreal, hence "514" in Adam514 which is the area code for phone numbers. My pleasure!
1. I'm going to give the Tempest Mk V some time in the air. It's been sitting underloved in my hangar for too long. 3. Man I am so jealous. I lllooovvveee Montreal. I had wondered what the 514 meant :) Looking very forward to your next video.
I'm not really a jets expert though. Defyn, one of the best jet pilots in WT, would be able to answer your question a lot better: ruclips.net/channel/UCaZxLTrdV9S78TO1Cc2yzNA Here's my reasoning in any case: Cl13 is probably the best jet in game at the moment. It certainly outturns Migs as long as you stay above 700km/h. Mig15s are absolute bricks and crap. If ever he's turning better, just go straight and accelerate and you'll leave them in the dust. Plus, Cl13s don't really fight Migs, they are mostly on the same team.
HEy ADam, which settings or PostFX do you use? At 2:46, those cannon shots look amazing, I´m playing on Max Settings and my cannons look...shitty :) Love ya vids
All of these clips feature you, in a low-alt, low-speed position, taking advantage of your opponents high speed to kill them. So, I'm still left with my problem. I fly a MiG-15Bis, and I get sabres on my tail pretty frequently. It is so hard to shake them off - so far I've been nosing into a dive, then rolling continuously (bad roll rate on the mig, so can't go back and forth) until my opponent is nearly up my ass, then I sharply pull up so that he overshoots and tries to escape by diving away. Because of my bad aim and the MiG's pretty crap guns with slow muzzle velocities, I only get the kill less than half the time, but it saves me, and I can usually get a kill elsewhere. But this doesn't always work. Sometimes I have a Sabre behind me and I can't do anything - often when we're flying at the same speed. Any tips for those situations?
Yeah Mig15Bis is a tough aircraft to reverse something in, especially a Sabre. Priority for the Mig15 is to not have anything on your 6 that has enough energy that you can't outclimb. Of course it'll still happen that you get stuff on your 6, and in that case I'd mainly use pitch up and down with slight rolls to dodge until they are close enough to commit to pitching in one direction.
You should spiral climb when you already have the energy advantage and the enemy is zooming up to you to try and shoot you. With the spiral climb, you present a smaller target and you conserve your speed to drop down on him quickly as soon as he stalls.
So I pulled off a reversal against a 190 in the Helldiver today. Wasn't that impressive to be honest, more because the opposing pilot committed to an extended series of scissors but was still a reversal. Also got a 109 that tried to zoom climb for me in that match. My french Helldiver has a 14-5 record in 13 games. I wish I had saved my reversal against a German P-47 in that thing. Yeah reversals in more maneuverable aircraft isn't particularly impressive but I think it is when it is the Helldiver against 190s and P-47s. I'm still willing to help with any potential Helldiver video if you want. :) Also can't decide on best ordinance option to take. Do I want to take rockets for early anti bomber stuff or a light bomb load and just drop it wherever? Don't want to take the 4 .50s as I don't think the performance loss for them is actually worthwhile. Also don't know the ammo belt that they use. Also that last clip had probably one of the best squads possible in terms of who I would want to fly with. So glad that I didn't face it.
Haha anything is impressive in the Helldiver... And nice record in it. I think loading bombs or rockets is a waste. And at the moment the performance penalty for those 4 extra guns is minuscule, it's certainly worth loading them. Lol yeah, too easy.
Meh. How about 4 in the very next match? Again I don't think it was notably impressive for the most part but I could try sending you the replay(s) and let you decide. Could have been shot down after I think the 2nd kill but some reason the other guy just couldn't land his shots. The loss of climb is my concern in using them. Also if you can land your shots with the cannons they do rather well themselves so I don't see the need for the added firepower at the cost of the added weight. Just me though.
No it very much isn't but if you get dragged down late in the match and want to climb back up a small difference can go a long way. Thus I'd rather the extra climb as ridiculous as that may be. Link to replay for 4 kill match at WT replay section if anyone wants to see it. If it doesn't come up search silentrain in the user search bar with RB, random, aircraft and look for Berlin 20 May, 3:35 warthunder.com/en/tournament/replay/327010267227903547 Again I don't think the kills were particularly impressive but for any curious enough to want to see it. I know I saw a few wanting to see Adam fly the Helldiver in prior video comments. Until Adam does it this may entertain you lot.
Adam, perhaps you won’t see this since this is an old video, but how do you know so much about each individual plane and how they compare to each other? Where do you get your information?
Yes and no! Yes: - Great skills as always! - 1000 subs, congrats :) - Great tips, now I have to implement this in my noob brains :D I liked this "side to side" maneuver. Seen it before but didn't really understand it. - 1st video with voice commentary. (finally :D ) - I`m not in kill montage :D No: - lack of conversation. Just talk to us, all as a viewers we want to be related with what you are showing. So, pick a bullet points and lets have a conversation :) - New mic is a must (with time) :D Overall, great video, cannot wait for k4 and c3 ones...........!!!! :D :D :D
Thanks for the feedback! -Lack of conversation: not sure how to go about that, in my opinion I was showing you guys how I perform this maneuver. -New mic: because of some audio artifacts? Sound quality? It sounds clear to me, the changing volume from time to time is not due to the mic.
I don`t have balls, time or skills to do youtube videos, but I have seen some youtuber`s who starts rigid, however with time they become more flexible or more like conversationalists :D. All the information we need is here. Compare yourself when you started playing war thunder and how you are doing it now, same thing applies with commentary. Obviously you have skills and presentation will come with time. :) Yes there is some audio artifacts and volume irregularities, maybe some enchantments are applied or there is increased distance to microphone.
I don't have that much time either haha. Yeah presentation isn't my strong suit that's for sure. I tried my best to keep the distance with my mic constant, I suppose small changes had this effect.
I tried flying the Ta yesterday and quit after two games. Having multiple P-47s and P-51s chasing is not fun. I tried to use the energy retention to my advantage and all, but the plane is so weak I get hit once and control surfaces are crap. You make it look ridiculously easy.
The Ta152 is decently sturdy imo. Using ER advantage isn't that simple either, I really didn't like the Ta152H the first few times I flew it. I might make it look easy but I also have a lot of practice!
Was wondering if u still think tempest V > II for the BR with the „new“ MM? 6.3 brits gets to fight a lot of german probs now, which mainly consists of 109s. While 5.7 is basically non existent for Germany. Besides a few TA‘s here and there
Yeah I do, I'd almost prefer the Mk V over the Mk II even if they were at the same BR. Mk II is significantly less maneuverable and compresses much more too (for some reason).
Adam514 I see. Guess I will fly out my mk5 again and see how it goes. Always liked it, it was the 1st plane I aced by flying. I’m just a bit afraid that brits aren’t in a very good spot right now. Also btw, got me a H1 after I saw your vids. Seems like a nice plane, especially if u get into a high alt map. But damn, I wish I could get it to work only half as good as you do in your vids o7
They aren't, and Allies in general. I haven't seen this many useless planes on my team in over a year when I flew my Mk V for 5 games today. I wasn't very good when I started off in the H1, but with experience I understood what it can and can't do and it has become my favorite German fighter.
Adam514 after a few matches I can’t play more allies lol. A match against soviets where my whole team besides me and a bomber was dead 2mins after 1st contact gave me the rest lol. Everyone seems to just rush in no matter what. Even airspawning planes dive right at the start, flying close above your head and rush the first target. It’s so sad :/
I usually pull my landing flaps whenever I see someone skilled enough in a defensive flyer so how can u reverse someone who knows that he can turn better than you at a lower speed and thus makes sure to lower his speed just enough to make sure that he doesn't overshoot. Also are these reversals possible if the enemy turns into an extended spiral climb with a wide radius instead of going in the same direction as your plane for eg. in the la-7 and f4u what would have u done if the enemy had turned hard towards one side while climbing and making a 180-degree turn. And let's say that this helps u survive but if u rinse and repeat won't u eventually run out of altitude to get the same speed as the enemy. And thanks for making the videos man really nice work.
That's a good question. You are right, reversals cannot be done safely at low speeds, because both of you will turn the same. That's why in all my reversals, I'm in a slight dive if the speed differential between myself and the enemy isn't high enough for a safe reversal. So if as you say you slow down to prevent overshooting, I just keep diving and escape to friendlies. That's part of the reason why I don't throttle down in all these reversals. If the enemy does a wide climbing turn far enough away from you, then you won't be able to reverse them, but you'll escape, and that's a win in and of itself since you were at an energy disadvantage. If they had so much energy that they can do that and still catch you, then you try to reverse them again. They'll be bleeding more energy than you with all those maneuvers while you're going straight. My pleasure mate!
Ok thnx, thought so. Also, I tried to get a idea of how thrust works. Seems a bit weird to me. What I found out so far is that the fast I go, the less thrust I have. Not sure if it’s a indicator of acceleration or not. But another thing I tried is how to use it when stallfighting, I realized that when it goes down again, after skyrocketing for whatever reason, I’m close to stall out. Is that what u meant with using it for stallfighting?
That's a great question to have! For prop aircraft, your power is (essentially) constant when your speed changes. And it has to follow the following equation: Power = Thrust*Speed. In other words, Thrust = Power/Speed, so your thrust must be reduced when speed increases. It's one of the reasons why prop aircraft climb at a much lower speed than jets. Yeah, on some aircraft it goes down at quite a high speed (Bf109s), and you should be aware of this. For example in the D30, thrust keeps increasing until you hit 0km/h, making the D30 better at stall fighting than Bf109s.
Adam514 sounds cool and pretty useful. Will pay attention to it. One last thing i‘d like to know from you. Do u prefer mk5 or mk2 hispanos? Just flew out my mb5, and had a few good matches in it, even a ace match, which is pretty rare for me. The thing I didn’t expect though is, I had a few kills from around 800m, and stuff blew up instantly a lot of times. And that with a plane which has its cannons pretty far on the outside of its wings. While with mk5 i don’t have that much luck. Maybe it’s just my aim tho, thats why I ask
Mk2s seem more effective, but that might just be because when I use Mk2s it's with earlier aircraft against slower, less sturdy enemies. Mb5 has its guns closer to the center than most wing mounted aircraft, mostly because the prop diameter is smaller (more blades). I have the same success at longer range with the Sea Fury when compared to the Tempest.
Adam514 I even managed to pull off one of your reversals. Kinda at least. Was with my mb5 against a k4 which was diving on me with a massive alt advantage. Took him with me in a hard dive, and pulled up again as I saw he’s doing the same. Was a bit surprised that I was catching up since he was going almost straight up. And got the shot at around 800m. So thnx for the idea, works pretty well. Also tried your tempest ones a few times; but my aim isn’t good enough to make use of it most of the time. Or I lose too much speed in the process, and only have a short window to shot, not sure about that. Unless the energy difference wasn’t that big anyways, then I get it to work. But by far not as good as your examples. Im looking forward to get better at it though lol
Nice! Yeah 109s aren't as good as the Mb5 for example at high speed, so you bled less speed in the dive and that allowed a window for a shot when you pulled up. You might be trying to make them overshoot too quickly by maneuvering and slowing down too much. Certainly! It's liberating when you don't worry about facing an enemy on your 6 with a higher energy state.
Just wondering, how would u compare the tempest mk2 and mk5, considering their br. Is the extra performance of the mk2 worth it? Or just go with the mk5 and enjoy more or less good MM?
Adam514 oh, and one more question. When u fly your tempest mk5 on a big map like Norway, do u climb as high as possible, or is there a altitude you don’t exceed? I mean with your reversal skills u probably don’t have a problem when flying lower :p While i get the most kills with stuff like chandelles or such things, where the enemy gets slow
By the way, how do you roll? Is there a particular way to roll and turn the plane? I can understand you turn to avoid be lined up, but how did you roll to make your opponent overshoot and dash ahead?
You need to roll then pitch, preferably when the enemy is still rolled away from you. Then you lose some speed and turn into the enemy, which increases the closing rate a lot, making them overshoot.
where do i find those stats when the spitfire for example cant handle high speed or the roll rate? How do i know which rollrate from Plane X is better than Plane Y? Since you cant testflight planes which are not unlocked.
managed to pull a very sloppy reversal yesterday with fw 190 a4. the enemy didnt know how to aim. and i got surprised when i got on his six. nevertheless watching your videos are a joy and educational
This is a pretty old video but i need to ask, what happens on those aircrafts that simply do not have the same armament, like for example in the last reversal if tried with a lower rank F4U you only get .50 cals and not the 20mm cannons the 4b does have, in that example it went succesfull since you could just one shot him but what if you could not, it would be the same proccess all over again?
I always come back to this video after I get shot down attempting to try to reversal and I am having the absolute worst time trying to learn. Is there some fundamentals you would recommend that I might be missing?
Ehh it was necessary for this video because there's a lot of information that needs to be said in a short time, and the viewer needs to pay attention to what's going on to understand. For my other videos it isn't necessary, and divides the editing time by 10+ (this video took many hours to make!).
Aren't these reversals dependant on the attacker attempting to gain altitude after missing? It seems to me if they just extend away they should be able to escape most of the time.
Somewhat, but some of them also go in a straight line. Basically you want to lure the enemy in as close as possible so that when they realize they'll overshoot and break off, you are close enough to pull off the shot.
Need to make sure they are close enough and with enough of a speed difference so that they can't get the lead on you before they overshoot. The rest of the details don't matter too much.
I... just... learning reversals aren't my thing. So is doing one. Say, if 15k subscribers is reached, or somewhere near that, could you make a video on NOT getting reversal'd? I believe countless other blokes and chaps out there are willing to learn how to do so too! Again, I know you're quite busy with your Aerospace Engineering (this is getting cliched), so sorry if I ended up using up your valuable studying time.
Adam514 thanks, I’ve been trying to fly out the A-5 more often so I don’t lose my touch on the butcher bird line, as I’ve been playing the A7M1 and A6M3, my fav turnfighters
Hey Adam, I know this video is old but I was wondering how to counter a reversal when your the person who’s diving. Is there any way to zoom away out of the persons gunning range without you being in their sights?
You can break off before you get too close (reduces your chances of landing hits), or turn in the opposite direction when the enemy commits to a turn, and that will put some distance between both of you, making for a harder shot. Then you can transition into a spiral climb if you have enough of an energy advantage.
I never seem to be able to pick up on this information, have 6000 hours in this game and still dont feel good at it. I feel aim is the biggest issue, do you have an aim guide?
6000 hours? Damn that's impressive. I don't have an aim guide, I feel like it can't really be taught in a video. I recommend being patient, and try to predict what the enemy will do in that situation and that aircraft, but you probably know that already.

I heard your voice... oh reminded me when i had English Listening exam xD xD
Hahaha I suppose that's good!
Adam, you should replacing the guy who speaking on my listening exam, cus your voice sounds much more clear than him xD
@Landen Zakai stfu
Finally get to hear your beautiful voice! :D
Hahaha thanks for the compliment I suppose!
Great games with thorough explanations, brilliant! Probably one of the best WT channels XD
Thanks for the praise!

That's a precise % of War Thunder players you got there ;).
i was about to ask you on how to do the reversal that you taught me while ago
Hopefully this answered your question!
I reversed you
I like this new format, even though it's recorded in a toaster mic. Congrats on your 1K subs, i'd like to see more of this in the future!

Haha yeah the Wyvern bleeds so much speed in turns, it's probably what saved you. And nice use of voilà ;).
Top quality stuff! My accuracy is too poor to pull off these kinds of maneuvers. lol

Haha if your accuracy is as poor as you say (which I doubt), you just need to get them slow ;).

Yeah maybe one day.
Congrats on 1k subs and great video

Hahaha sorry!
+Adam514 Tnx for your reply and help :)
My pleasure!
Impressive mate, thanks for sharing. Love WT!
Thanks mate!
Most people can't hit past 1km anyway.
Thanks m8!
Adam514 😎 actually they do most players has 800m as a gun targeting distance theoretically they could hit 1.6km away
Nah most players run 400-600m. I always run 400m, and that doesn't stop me from hitting at over 1km.
Adam514 you are OP man
Haha I try my best!
Step by step you grow. Bravo
Haha in what sense?
Mate your maneuver clips and lectures are so impressive. Tnx for good vids and plz keep it up!
Thanks man! I will! Feel free to share with your friends!
Sickkkk voiceee, maybe be an aerospace commentator😂😂
Lmao, I've been toying with the idea of slightly branching off to discuss technical aspects of aircraft to explain their performance.
very nice video!
Also, if you are at equal energy states you are better off retreating towards teammates, it's safer.
im talking at low alt. withought room to run. in these types of situations it is much harder
If you're in the faster plane you should run, and if you aren't faster you are probably more maneuverable, so turn and roll a bit to throw his aim off and then pitch up. It's something I do often, but it's always better not to get in that situation.
great video. And there is no problem with your voice mate ;)
Haha well it's monotone, unlike some other ones...
Thanks for the vid. I always have issues with reversals and anything on my 6. Thanks for providing great techniques. I watch all your vids. So educational. Thanks man!
My pleasure man!
NOTIFICATION SQUAD (ps: what a smooth voice you have)
Oh ! grand-mère, quelle grande bouche et quelles terribles dents tu as !
Adam514 haha
Thank you mate :)
1. Cool I understand. I guess roll rate is particularly helpful (and more helpful than turn rate) in denying a firing angle to an approaching enemy?
2. That's so helpful. Thank you :)
I had wondered what the 514 meant :)
Looking very forward to your next video.
Haha thanks, me too!
Wow ! Très impressionant !! Et j'aime bien ta voix. Je me sens nul tout d'un coup...
Haha merci!
Can you do a video on the Cl13 on how to duel jets? Always fighting tighter turning migs, can't get a grip. I hope you could teach me how.
I'm not really a jets expert though. Defyn, one of the best jet pilots in WT, would be able to answer your question a lot better: ruclips.net/channel/UCaZxLTrdV9S78TO1Cc2yzNA
Here's my reasoning in any case: Cl13 is probably the best jet in game at the moment. It certainly outturns Migs as long as you stay above 700km/h. Mig15s are absolute bricks and crap. If ever he's turning better, just go straight and accelerate and you'll leave them in the dust. Plus, Cl13s don't really fight Migs, they are mostly on the same team.
Adam514 I'll take your advice for it. I'm hopeless at jets, often sitting at 6.3. Hope this will fix that
that's super cool, great video quality.
Thanks man!
So many "Bravo!"'s and "Excellent!"'s, heres one more Sir, bravo! Very informative and entertaining :)
Thanks man!
That friendly was so pumped up and ready to help you and you just reversed that P-51 to mush, wonder what he was thinking after that
Always good to try to help even if it wasn't needed in the end!
HEy ADam, which settings or PostFX do you use? At 2:46, those cannon shots look amazing, I´m playing on Max Settings and my cannons look...shitty :)
Love ya vids
Old video, can't do this anymore.
Thanks!
Hey Adam, can we get some La-9 gameplay and maybe some Yak-9UT as well? (45mm snipes?) :):):)
I'll add it to my list! I've gotta warn you though, I can't aim 23mm at all.
Adam the type of guy to teach a whole damn school on flying planes.
Hahaha it's my calling!
Amazing info and great visuals. This will definitely help my piloting skills. Ty.
Thanks mate!
Thanks Adam ! And I want to ask how and when should I use spiral climb in a bf109? I never try spiral climb before and I don't know how to use it.
You should spiral climb when you already have the energy advantage and the enemy is zooming up to you to try and shoot you. With the spiral climb, you present a smaller target and you conserve your speed to drop down on him quickly as soon as he stalls.
Adam514 so I spiral climb when the enemy want to shoot me but not fast enough? What about spiral climb after you head on?
Yeah that works too but you need a significant energy advantage.
Ahhh its nice to watch such videos and still learn something even after 2000h spent on the game.
I agree!
4 kills? Nice lol.
It won't change climb by more than 10%, and the climb isn't even there to begin with lol.
No it very much isn't but if you get dragged down late in the match and want to climb back up a small difference can go a long way. Thus I'd rather the extra climb as ridiculous as that may be.
Link to replay for 4 kill match at WT replay section if anyone wants to see it. If it doesn't come up search silentrain in the user search bar with RB, random, aircraft and look for Berlin 20 May, 3:35
warthunder.com/en/tournament/replay/327010267227903547
Again I don't think the kills were particularly impressive but for any curious enough to want to see it. I know I saw a few wanting to see Adam fly the Helldiver in prior video comments. Until Adam does it this may entertain you lot.
It's going to take me awhile to get half decent Helldiver footage, don't hold your breath.
Your aim is impeccable!
Thanks mate!
Great vid, keep up the good work!!1!!1!
11111
After watching the video several times that lovely accent keeps echoing in my head lol
Hahaha not many people would say that!
Adam, perhaps you won’t see this since this is an old video, but how do you know so much about each individual plane and how they compare to each other? Where do you get your information?
Experience and testing.
Yes and no!
Yes:
- Great skills as always!
- 1000 subs, congrats :)
- Great tips, now I have to implement this in my noob brains :D I liked this "side to side" maneuver. Seen it before but didn't really understand it.
- 1st video with voice commentary. (finally :D )
- I`m not in kill montage :D
No:
- lack of conversation. Just talk to us, all as a viewers we want to be related with what you are showing. So, pick a bullet points and lets have a conversation :)
- New mic is a must (with time) :D
Overall, great video, cannot wait for k4 and c3 ones...........!!!! :D :D :D
I disagree with the no's
Yes there is some audio artifacts and volume irregularities, maybe some enchantments are applied or there is increased distance to microphone.
Yeah Allies seem to have given up...
That's a sweet voice you have :)
hehe, do this with P-47D-28 is super fun atm
Hahaha thanks!
D28 is too dirty for me for now lol.
Gaijin must lost their mind, the plane is well deserved 5.3 BR lul
I’m struggling with it
I usually pull my landing flaps whenever I see someone skilled enough in a defensive flyer so how can u reverse someone who knows that he can turn better than you at a lower speed and thus makes sure to lower his speed just enough to make sure that he doesn't overshoot.
TY
You help alot guys. Nice vedio !!!!!
Thanks man, I try my best!
Thanks for the video. So the idea is to cause the opponent to lose control in high speed, i.e, can't turn fast enough so it dashed ahead??
There's some of that yeah.
Just wondering, how would u compare the tempest mk2 and mk5, considering their br.
Is the extra performance of the mk2 worth it? Or just go with the mk5 and enjoy more or less good MM?
It isn't worth it. 5.7 just barely misses the jets, and you get downtiered vs Germany usually. Tempest Mk V is a better deal for the BR.
Adam514 oh, and one more question. When u fly your tempest mk5 on a big map like Norway, do u climb as high as possible, or is there a altitude you don’t exceed?
I mean with your reversal skills u probably don’t have a problem when flying lower :p
While i get the most kills with stuff like chandelles or such things, where the enemy gets slow
Nice reversals bro, I remember some of these :p
Thanks! And yeah you've seen a couple from another point of view!
By the way, how do you roll? Is there a particular way to roll and turn the plane? I can understand you turn to avoid be lined up, but how did you roll to make your opponent overshoot and dash ahead?
You need to roll then pitch, preferably when the enemy is still rolled away from you. Then you lose some speed and turn into the enemy, which increases the closing rate a lot, making them overshoot.
lol I just realised that I pulled a reversal on the spitfire you killed at 4:28 a few games ago
Really? Damn, what are the odds, and you have a good memory?
@@AdamTheEnginerd oh I don’t have a good memory, he was just being super toxic
wait, Adam, how do u roll from side to side while controlling with keyboard? Do u just use ailerons and elevators? or do u use some other method?
Yeah pretty much.
@@AdamTheEnginerd Ok, thank u very much for that! I guess I'll just go practice doing it later.
Nice video
Thanks!
where do i find those stats when the spitfire for example cant handle high speed or the roll rate? How do i know which rollrate from Plane X is better than Plane Y? Since you cant testflight planes which are not unlocked.
You can't really find that kind of stuff unfortunately.
he needs to continue this series
I agree!
Knolege! With knolege you win the wars
It's part of the battle!
managed to pull a very sloppy reversal yesterday with fw 190 a4. the enemy didnt know how to aim. and i got surprised when i got on his six. nevertheless watching your videos are a joy and educational
Nice! And thanks for the praise!
Incredibly hellful
I'm the master of hell!
I always come back to this video after I get shot down attempting to try to reversal and I am having the absolute worst time trying to learn. Is there some fundamentals you would recommend that I might be missing?
*has learned that rolling side to side is the deadliest manuever*
Unbeatable ;).
thanks for this video great content !!
Thanks mate, my pleasure!
Excelent vídeo! And Nice Voice!
Hahaha thanks man!
I almost reversed on a ta 152 with a f4u 4b and ended up crashing into him
That's still a kill!!
Lol. That Japanese empire will be proud.
Hey nice, with vocal it's so much better!
Ehh it was necessary for this video because there's a lot of information that needs to be said in a short time, and the viewer needs to pay attention to what's going on to understand. For my other videos it isn't necessary, and divides the editing time by 10+ (this video took many hours to make!).
WUHUUU HE IS TALKING.
Awesome
Thanks! I'll send your regards ;).
Is there ever a situation when you are the more maneuverable aircraft where you don't want to take them into the vertical?
Need to make sure they are close enough and with enough of a speed difference so that they can't get the lead on you before they overshoot. The rest of the details don't matter too much.
I... just...
learning reversals aren't my thing.
So is doing one.
Say, if 15k subscribers is reached, or somewhere near that, could you make a video on NOT getting reversal'd?
I believe countless other blokes and chaps out there are willing to learn how to do so too!
Again, I know you're quite busy with your Aerospace Engineering (this is getting cliched), so sorry if I ended up using up your valuable studying time.
It takes practice!
It's a rare occurrence, but really it's managing speed and alt and controlling the separation.
No worries!
@@AdamTheEnginerd Thanks for the inspiration mate!
My pleasure!
Outstanding vid very helpful thanks
My pleasure!
What are your thoughts on the Focke-Wulf 190 a-5 as a reverser?
Fw190As are especially good at revering. Good roll and great flaps.
AdamTheEnginerd ok thanks!
My pleasure!
@@AdamTheEnginerd thanks
I never seem to be able to pick up on this information, have 6000 hours in this game and still dont feel good at it. I feel aim is the biggest issue, do you have an aim guide?
6000 hours? Damn that's impressive.
I don't have an aim guide, I feel like it can't really be taught in a video. I recommend being patient, and try to predict what the enemy will do in that situation and that aircraft, but you probably know that already.
OMYGAD. IS THAT HIS VOICE?!?!?!
Perhaps, stay tuned to find out ;).
i like to call this manouver the "no u"
Lmao fitting.
Yes! You kept your promise ;)
Haha my 1k sub video promise?
Yes! I believe you will conquer the WT section of RUclips!
Hey, just don't forget about me ok? I want 5000 GE if that's possible ^^
Hahaha I won't!
Lol I usually do those kinds of reversals on my fw190s, but in my case it's a 50-50 chance due to weak elevator
The elevator was buffed on all Fw190s since 1.77, I wouldn't say its elevator is weak anymore.
Adam514 that was for bf109s I believe, if it was buffed I don't feel the difference
Godxilxhero i heard people talking about 190 nerfed back though it's buffed when 1.77 is released
武田信玄 was it in the changelogs?
It's very noticeable on all Fw190s over 600km/h.
Thanks for video! This great 👍
When will you make a montage???
What kind of montage did you have in mind? I'm not much of a montage guy/fan.
Do you need to use pitch left/right when you roll, or just roll is enough?
Need pitch yes.
Amazing, kinda like a verticle scissors but not exactly.
Hard to describe indeed.
I feel those 10 minutes + few seconds ehehe.
Haha what are you implying?
Should i use gun convergence 400m or 600m in F4U-4B and F8F-1B ?
I use 400m for everything, but I don't shoot from that far out. If you shoot at my range you should use 400m. 600m is overkill imo.
Thank you
Show them a little trick I learned! Thanks!
Haha at least this can be used!
Thanks for this tip man thx!
My pleasure m8!
