Feel like no one would be shitting on the fight and it would be still just as big if the UFC stripped Jon a year ago and this fight was for a fake "goat" belt or something like that similar to the BMF. Not holding up the division, and we get to celebrate 2 all-time legends go at it and then retire.

I know Jon is really good and one of the best to do it and is probably going to beat up old Stipe, but I wanna talk about GSP dominating him in practice.
I remember a number of jre episodes where Firas and Danaher both specifically mention Georges dominating very well-respected fighters in the wrestling room. They also implied that most people might not believe it since "some" of the fighters are much bigger and very respected for their grappling. That description matches Jones.
I admit there isn't much evidence. No camp is going to let this get out because it'd ruin the reputation of their fighter or their gym. However, there are a few things that support this theory. GSP was known for going all over to work with the best coaches and camps, including Jackson Wink where Jon trained. Firas, Danaher, and I believe Gordon Ryan all mentioned Georges dominating this mystery fighter on separate occasions. And then the infamous video of Jon avoiding GSP at the club. I think we all agree it wouldn't be out of character for Jon to avoid someone who got the better of him in the training room.
Anyways I'm just high and enjoying an mma on point video 👍

Jackson Wink was GSPs basically 2nd home gym. He spent his offseason in Montreal at TriStar, but would usually go do the last month or so of camp at JW before his fights for a number of years. Probably cause they had more pros to spar with while preparing
But that’s why Greg Jackson was lead cornerman for many of GSPs fights during his prime years

Let's just pray this fight actually happens. So they can stop holding up the heavyweight division. Jones loves saying Aspinall and the rest haven't done anything. That's because you and Stipe have been holding up the division for the past 6 years.

I always thought this was a bad stylistic matchup for Stipe but he's always been an underdog and made a career of never being the best in one area (speed, power, boxing, wrestling etc) but somehow piecing it all together.

Stipe said that he has never felt better and that he is stronger than ever. Now I am sure that he is slower a bit, busy so is Jones with extra pounds. I think Stipe will track Hines like gazelle and KO him. Tue only way for Jones to KO Stipe is by knee to the head and grown and pound.

Jon is right about one thing: Stipe is not to be underestimated. I'd be so interested to see what the fight looks like, too bad it's on US time though. But at the end of the day I think Jon wins by unanimous decision, or split. I see it going to the scorecards, and I think it'll be a really tough fight for both men, and if we're lucky, it becomes an all time classic fight. I want Stipe to win, but I believe Jon will squeak it out.

Jones has already said in an interview that he won't face Tom Aspinall because he doesn't want Tom to make a name for himself off of Jon's legacy. PATHETIC for a man who considers himself the greatest of all time. I hope Stipe knocks him out in the first round.

Corny as it may sound, watching Jones fight is truly a work of art. Don't think any other fighter has thrown that many different techniques throughout their career. Remember when people thought Conor invented the shoulder strike, when Jon was throwing it before he was even in the UFC. Same with Kamaru's foot stomp. Activity aside, that is the best P4P fighter ever. Great video btw. You mentioned a lot of stuff people usually don't, even Luke Thomas.

The best case scenario would be for Stipe to win and then retire, forcing Jones to fight back for the championship except then both ASPINALL and ALEX equally refuse to fight him and instead fight themselves for the Heavyweight title!
That would be a perfect punishment for Jones ducking!

Stipe living a cleaner life than (also not young) Jon Jones, who’s lived a life of excess, makes me think that physically the odds are equal. Plus, heavyweights decline much less after their prime, as shown by Teixeira with his 6-win streak into a title at his 40s
