I love this! I have been looking at these lamps for a long time now and I think I am going to attempt to make it myself as well! Thank you for sharing!!!
Thank you for the nice comments! I enjoyed doing this project and still love the way it looks in our living room! I’m glad to have inspired you, if you do make it I’d love to see the results! :)
Hello firstly I’d like to say thank you for the subscribe!!! I first cut the broom sticks straight measuring them at 120cm long. Drilled the hole down the centre before I cut the very tip off at 15 degrees, kept the little off cut so I could use it as a pilot to drill the 15 degree angle through the discs. Hope this helps, if you do give one a go if love to see the results!! FYI there are different thickness of broom sticks, these ones are the thicker ones measuring at 1 1/8 inch diameter 🙂 any more questions please ask!
If you’ve got the tools you’ve got the tools 🙂 had it a while and it was on clearance sale, I don’t buy anything expensive! Nothing to stop anyone using a hand saw after measuring the angles the old fashioned way 😁
I'm making one now. Three old broom sticks in my shed. I've bought the discs and lamp fitting. I'm a total novice. No idea what size screws. Etc. So playing it by ear. I have a mitre saw that someone gave me. It was a project in itself for me setting it up. My tripod is now complete thought slightly not level at the top. it's currently standing on my patio with for stones weighting it down till the glue dries. . If I had videos myself doing it I would have titled the video Stan Laurel makes a lamp. Just need to wait now for the gue to dry ready for painting. A professional would have fainted. Wish me luck that it is sturdy. lol if I can do it anyone can.
I have a huge box of random screws I did exactly that, played it by ear and just picked three the same to do the job 😊 awesome that you’re giving it a go! Hope the end result turns out as good as you’d like😊 I’m still super happy with mine and I’m definitely a novice 😄!
@@ProjectCao it's looking good. I made the hole slightly too big for the light fitting but improvised using part of the plate for a knob on a broken pan lid. It was right size and I glued it in place with Gorrila glue. It actually finishes it off very well. Very happy shame I can't post a picture.
@@lorraine.bernardettehoole7743 aweomse!! I’d love to see it! I do have Instagram project_cao I would love to see the results! If you or anyone you know has Instagram please add me and share the finished product there :)!!

I am going to make this
Awesome 😊 would be great to see the results if you do!
I have been wanting to make a tripod lamp stand. But what is the angle? I only have basic tools.
I cut the angle of the broom sticks at 15 degrees. :) hope this helps, definitely worth making your own!
Whatttt how?! Amazing
Why thank you! 😄
Brilliant x
Thank you!!
Would you please tell me what type and brand of saw that was when you cut the dowels. I want to find one. Thanks
So it’s a mitre saw, this one is an Einhell. Wasn’t too expensive but it does a good job! 😌
This amazing 🙏. I can do this
😊
Wood height?
What was the measurement and angle on the chop saw?
The cutting angle I used was 15 degrees. 🙂
@@ProjectCaothank you dude. and the cut to size length?
@@jamesmitchell8986 no problem! The length of each broom stick was cut to 1200mm at the longest point 👍🏻
More please soon!
You’ve got more ;)
Did you cut the dowels at 20 degrees?
