Before you go on about mining in colombia you need to watch a documentary about a coal mine near a town in colombia...... long story short the companies paid paramilitary to kill hundreds of land owners take their land & sell it to the company...... one of them went back with a film crew to show what they did....end of documentary we find out the victims see him and .. now he dead
thank you for your comment
Yeah but tourism rarely benefits the locals within the country, as proven by tourism in the Caribbean and Costa Rica. Costa Rica still has extremely high levels of inequality and it can be viewed by who benefits from the tourism. If you really want to help out Colombians, then you must create opportunities for locals to benefit, pay them well, and offer them good health opportunities if they are working for you. Otherwise, you are contributing to the inequity. It wouldn’t be that different than the conquistadors coming from Europe 500 years ago looking for resources, or the multinationals coming to take away indigenous lands for the exploitation of the land. Remember that in tourism, the culture and landscapes become the resource so that is something that must be protected from being exploited.
This is exactly what we are doing. If you like to contribute, I am more than happy about a cheque
@@COLOMBIAFRANK No thank you, this kind of tourism is dangerous for local economies. Furthermore, we don't want the economic scraps from your tourism businesses.
