Otherwise the part is too narrow and cannot be slipped over the tip
I rewatched that section of the video … I think she did it correctly. She ironed the short side to fold that piece up so that it is a stronger edge , which enabled her to form a stiffer edge to allow the bag pointed section, at end of the zipper to be inserted more easily into the connector strap . It becomes more stable and seals off the raw edges inside the connector piece. I believe she did it correctly . It’s a beautiful quick bag to use as a sling bag during vacation for security purposes…the bag is on your side or front …pickpocketing made difficult. Great sewing video 👍👍
