Ramprasad's rich voice resonating in our ears and mind. Let God Bless him with all talents to climb many more heights in his devotion and music mission.
Ramprasad knows that he is very very good in alapana like reethigowla, matamalava gowla.. and we too need same from him. He takes us to different divine world with his alaapana on such slow Krithis.. Fortunate to listen .. Dwaitamu Sukhama
I always look forward to Dr Ramprasad's kutcheri as he has surprises for us. Arambham song is by Garbhapurivasa " Karur Dakshinamurthy " in Shriragam !! HNBhaskar and Vijay Natesan are always great pakkom! Majestic Saveri !! Sankarai Sankuru chandramukhi akhilandeswari Shyamashastri sahityam !! Though known for his brilliance in mridangam artistry where he could play songs on his fingertips, Abhinavanandi Palghat Mani Iyer could sing all sorts of songs. He ought be proud[and he must be proud whereever he is residing now] of his own grandson to be singing ably all sorts of rare ragas and songs. Arabhi and ... I told you he is full of surprises. This Ganarajena in Arabhi by Muthiswami Dikshithar is the surprise I was talking about it. I salute the young man for this kind of special treats for rasikas -- far[California] and wide. One vainika SVSahana in 2018 played this nice song. Hindolam and Ma ramanan Uma ramanan by Papanasam Sivan. The grand vidwan GeeyeNBee popularized this nice song. Lathangi and Mariveredikkevvaro Patnam Khandachapu fast transitional song! Reethigowla and what ? Ragaratnamalikache ? Nannuvidachi? Thyagarajaswamikal owned it. Bale balendu bhushani? Dr SRamanathan grandvidwan used to sing it. Swathi Thrunal's Paripalayamam Padmanabha ? Why not? Did Shyamashastri and Muthuswami Dikshithar cover Reethigowla? I'm sure they did. Nothing comes to mind. Shri nilotpala by Dikshithar; Sadguruswami by Poochi Srinivasa Iyengar. Shyamashastri? Janani ninnu vina by Subbaraya Shastri. I bet he was inspired by his guru Thyagarajaswamikal who was his father Shyamaashastri's Thiruvarur village neighbour. Ninnuvia marikevaru by Shyamaa Shastri, I got it now. "Dwaitamu sukhama! Adwaitamu sukhama!" Notice how Dr Ramprasad clearly separates "Dwatam" and "Adwaitam" as Thyagarajaswamikal was saluting both divides of Hindu schools of Dwaita vdam and Adwaita veda; dual and nondual thoughts are both OK with Thyagarajaswamikal. You are one with god or you are separate from god. God and you are just one. God and you are separate from each other. MDR used to emphasize the two words Dwaitam and Adwaitam every time he sang this song. I wish to express my gratitude to Dr Ramprasad for learning the meanjng of the song before he presents it. That is a sign of total dedication to the art and music of our Carnartic muisic. Adi Sankaracharya was for Adwaitam -- the nonduality of religion of Hindus. Here in this song Thyagarajaswamikal was expressing his support for both Adwitam and Dwaitam as long as one is determined to pursue the path of good deeds -- dharma and karma -- to attain moksha. There are so many religions on this planet. As Swami Vivekananda lectured in Chicago and elsewhere that just as there are sos many rivers on our earth all eventually would end up n one ocean or another. Paths may be different, but ultimately all religions profess to lead their members to ultimate goal of salvation. I am not into an expert discussion of religions and their roles in the good of mankind. I was throwing some sophomoric ideas as I listen, that's all. tt45 I am simply enjoying the detailed presentation of one of the most beautiful songs in Canatic Music. 12 minutes of good layavinyasam. "Shantakaram bhujaga shayinam": Beautiful Sanskrit Shloka in praise of the presiding deity Sri Padmanabhaswamy of the Padmanabhaswamy Temple of Thiruvananthapuram[lately in the news for the discovery of its billions worth of collection of special stones hidden in undeground below the temple structure of enormous proportion that defied the prying stealing eyes of the British occupants of Travancore depriving them of all those humongous loots that would have financed to the splendor of their countrymen in England , a city named after Ananthapadmanabhan -- anantha: endless : infinite in his magnanimity, in his devotion to his devotees, in his wisdom, in his caring and love for all humanity -- who is none other than Sri Padmanabhaswamy, the benefator of once ruling Maharajah Swathi Thirunal who was a contemporaneous vaggeyakara of Thyagarjaswanikal, Muthuswami Dikshithar and Shyamaashastri from the neighboring Tamil Nadu's Thiruvrur village even while he ruled his subjects in the kingdom of Travancore ... Bhujagashayino -- in a lying down position the Lord props his head up with his right hand in an acuteangularly positioined folded hand as if ti get a good glimpse of his devotees thus revelaing his peaceful and happy face to null the anxieties of his countless devotees ... Hamrikalyani, Surati and Chenjurutti ending with Carnatic Music's Pitamaha (grandfather) Purandaradasa of Karnataka which gave rise to the name Carnatic Music. Bravo grazzi to the artistes lead by Dr Ramprasad for a fabulous kutcheri. May he and his pakkom be blessed with good health for perpetuatiing our music for years. @@Raprasad-753 I thank you Smt Rajakakshmi for cheering me on. At 75 I welvome all sorts of kudos. Sri Rajamani, son of Paghat Mani Iyer is a good friend of mine; I had drivern him all over New Jersey and New York; his dughter now lives in Massachusetts; his immediate presence in my house on Long Island, NY, was an inexplicable experience for me. His gift of tapes where his illsutstrious father would mimic the rendered songs on his mridangam are sources of great joy for me as I listen in the stillness of my study here in California. Dr Ramprasad being the grandson of the great man brings me additional joy for me as a rasika. Namaskar as you continue to enjoy pure gems of music in our tradition.
I only have one question for Dr. Ramprasad…when did you ever sleep? 😂 For me to be able to sing, like you do, one bhriga/Bhirka in one Raga would take a lifetime…Amid the kind of ‘rakshana Saadhana’ it would take to master the art, when and how did you find time and energy to get your doctorate and postdoctoral degrees? Please accept my sincere Koti Namaskarams. 🙏🙏
Wonderful, soul fulfilling performance. Enjoyed each second. Remarkable team spirit. Every one contributed very nicely. Expecting more such programs 👍👍👍
If I am not wrong,Shri Palghat Ramprasad is the grand son of Shri Palghat Mani Iyer,Not Palghat Madurai mani iyer as stated in the comments.Sorry for pointing out the same.please clarify sir.

The ability of Mr. Bhaskar in the Violin is to assimilate the bhava of the singer and translate it into his violin in totality.

Yes, Ramprasad is the grandson of Sri Palghat Mani Iyer. The announcer must have just gotten confused between Sri MMI and PMI!
Grandson of PMI.
You are correct. My guess is out of respect for the announcer and/or MMI, Ramprasad didn’t bother to correct him, when he got the mike.
In some tapes auto display of song details is coming. This will help for biginers like me
Wonderful👏👏
Very good concert!
