A big thank you to Ixair helicopter team!
www.ixair.com
wow BEST TECHNOLOGY IVE SEEN AND SMART TECHNOLOGY I AM NOT SURPRISED I EXPETED THEM TO COME UP WITH SOMETHING LIKE THIS
Wow just seen this on homepage of RUclips. And I have to say that is the most incredible thing I ever seen. The controls and stability look so simple compared to way an RC heli is controlled. Thumbs up on the programming and thanks for sharing!!
Wow... das ist wirklich ne sehr coole Art der Steuerung!
i've been imagining this ever since i was young... finally... it's here!!! waaaaah!!! :P
i have been successfully hypnotized by this, i now need it
Very good video on how to use the drone. good job, simple and time efficient!
That thing actually has amazing stability. I'm impressed.
Unfortunately, RUclips is not the place for intelligent responses.
Man, I haven't thought a toy was this cool since I was a little kid. Hopefully it works as well as the commercial seems to suggest it does.
I saw this at CES 2010, it was awesome. I would love to review it on our site.
this is the best piece of aero engineering i've seen move....this is priceless but the machine isn't i bet :D
MAN THAT WAS THE BEST THING EVER!! I loved that tune also!
Its not wifi like internet. the parrot creates it own wifi and u connect Iphone-Ipad-Ipod and fly within the range of parrot's wifi network :)
I love my AR.Drone as soon as you get the hang of it guys its great fun just set all the settings to low at the start and fly outside first.
Give it 45 mins. to fully charge. On a single charge, it last 15 mins. U can by another spare battery or buy enough battery, to give you a full hour. There's a camera on the bottom, and it can give you a split screen view of front w/ bottom views. Brookstone stores sale it for 299.95 and accessories.
that is bad ass, I already have cameras set up around my property but to use this when you hear suspicious noise and to send out the DRONE would be epic, modify the cam for night vision and your set
this has got me in so much trouble, I LOVE IT, tks guys!
great product!
a must have!
It looks like one of the coolest flying toys evar!! (yes I spelt ever with an a troll) but I'm guessing the batteries last as long as this video. 4 minutes and they're done.
@MrDahve there was a shadow for two seconds, untill the light overcome the block of the UAV. The lighting was everywhere, so a shadow was not there. Its kindof like standing in a stadium. Instead of one dark shadow, you get 4 very dim shadows.
Very good and funny videos bring a great sense of entertainment!
not a funny video, thats impressive stuff of how similar this technology was12 years ago to our technology today
@ChunderThunder1
you've never tried using rc planes/heli's before have you. 12 minutes is actually pretty good, especially for something under 1k
usually the only ones you can get around 1/2 hr from is the gliders... and that's if you know how to take advantage of the wind.
they always make it look easy in the videos...
@dirostudios parrot is a french company so it comes from europe and can be bought outside of the states
The auto-stabilization feature is quite impressive.
@ARdrone you guys have made the first step for skynet.
This is amazing! Only I would prefer actual controls over a touch screen. And yes some Predator Missiles would come in handy.
O-O
i saw this when i was in melbourne! you might remember me because my brother was crying and didnt want a turn but aventuly did. i also had a go! i want it so bad!
dont break your ar drone, yes that is tons of helpful because when i saw this i said to myself "wow, i think im going to buy that and break it"
Great video, thumbs up. Cheers from Sint Maarten
Awesome Video
Great video! It helped me a lot.
I wanna know too, I really like this track!
Amazing... but what we need next is batteries with higher capacities... almost like 20 to 30 times the current ones. Also, I wonder how many batteries you consumed while making these shots.
I have an iPhone and several RC helicopters, but not this "AR Drone".
Currently I believe that you can't properly control this nice little flying machine with the iPhone because you can't feel the sticks of the controller and you have to look at the screen sometimes.
Now that I said that, I'd like to get testimonials to tell me where I stand... Am I right or wrong ?
@Corkoth55 It's totally worth the money. ($349.99 CAN) It's either this or a $29.99 Heli that will brake in a few hours. Or you can spend $16,000 on an industrial grade Draganfly RC. So I think i'm going to go for the $349.99 one with the flight stabilizer and autopilot, remote control from Ipod and the defualt controler. Hint hint, it's the best choice.
That looks so awesome
WOW I CAN SPY ON MY ENEMIES
The AR Drone has its own wifi system that you can connect to using your iPhone/iPad
I have one home and this is really really cool
BOSS BB GUN GEORGE COOL do u have to tilt your phone to control it or can u switch that
These things remind me of a 90s video game called Lander, the flight is basically identical.
Thumbs if you remember that thing it was awesome!
I have one of these and a Phantom, and the DJI Phantom blows this out of the water. This thing only goes as far as a wifi signal. The Phantom transmitter has a distance of two miles.
And the Phantom can fly 10 meters per second, and is more stable and easier to control.
***** AND - a simple build can boost the wifi about 5 times - need a access point and a battery and do some simple wiring - for my money I got the AR and I love it - getting the phantom next - gotta build up the loot first!
alex A. So can you do that with any of the Parrot AR Drones 2.0?
RUclips newscasts
Got this for my nephew at xmas and the battery lasts just 7/8 minutes, for something this expensive you would have thought they would last longet or they would supply couple free extra batteries.
this helped a lot! thanks! i just need a better battery now. i may be back for questions.
@5068Christian Yeah you can, because it is controlled from a "wifi" connection from the airplane to the ipod/iphone.
This was the first drone for consumer markets
Flight: 12 minutes. Charge : around 1 hour
Is it nessesary to have a wi-fi connection all the time to fly the drone?
@asteris145 no, it can be done with anything that has wi-fi and the application needed to fly the drone.
Although, to date, only the ipod, iphone and ipad can be used to fly it. There currently working on other mobiles to have the application.
@dbsouza1 AR.Drone is available for iPhone iPod Touch iPad and Android !
Nice
@DjKasHHA AR.Drone battery last 12 minutes. Of course we recommend you buy additionnal batteries.
iPhone : 299$+
Ar drone: 299$
Gaming like a boss: priceless
Excellent video!!
Ar:waiting to move
Me:hmm what should I do?
Ar:battery low
Me:back to charging -_-
lmfao man i want one now it'll be so cool i can view anything from a long distances lmfao XD
I thought this was amazing, then i saw it was just for the iPhone. I wasnt that impressed. then I saw that it's also for the Droid. Now I'm craving this thing.
There seems to be considerable input lag due to the accelerometer control. It would be more fun if there was a dedicated remote control with sticks and HD monitor :) and be able to switch from front faced to ground camera. oohh.. maybe a reeled claw to pick up objects, or ability to drop bombs from the fuselage or something :)
This will make peeping into the neighbors' bathrooms so much easier.
@BattalionOfMars you can literally make a cheaper one from scratch if you know how but it's easy to learn
how awesome!
I felt more like a little kid yelling ccccooooolll while watching this.
looks super fun! I can deliver messages with this.
@APACHESTRATHE140 It work with iPhone, iPod touch, iPad.
Nothing was said about:
1 - battery life.
2 - radio range.
3 - maximum height from approximate sea level.
4 - approximate lag of video.
I got this for christmas. Havnt gotten to use it yet :P
that's cool i'm getting one as soon as i can
Lets see how long it takes to see a similar invention from the military.
Trop bien ! Je viens d acheter le mien. Un peu dur à piloter au début mais trop super
Thanks good video the control of it showed me
awesome video.. i just got version 2.0! still trying to figure out how to fly it..
Talvez no Natal... Quem sabe!!
That is 10x better than geting COD: Black ops prestiege edition.
my birthday is coming up. woot!
@ArT1Tuvsho no, its made to use your ipod/iphone as a controler
Not fake. Available for pre-order on amazon.
Why don't they create helicopters that can do this kind of thing on a larger scale? That kind of maneuverability would be amazing.
@trueboss926 no, it works also with an ipod touch and an ipad ;)
How does the wi-fi work? do you need to be in a wifi zone? I want to take this up to the mountains and make mountain bike videos. How about a batter backpack for extended flying? Can you mount a go-pro camera to this? What quality of video does it shoot? how much video memory does it have? Is it an SD memory card?
@bastkrug you sure? it definitely looks animated to me! do you think the actual product is a fake?
wow. this is awesome.
The US Air Force wasn't created until AFTER the close of World War II. Before then, it was known as the Army Air Corps.
this is genious. except the video feed could be a lot smoother and updates faster
thumbs up for the beginning of skynet
If only the camera didn't lag, scared to haul ass when the camera can't keep up with me, lol! Feel the need to see it at all times!
@ArT1Tuvsho
I don't think that would work too well, as I remember seeing this in an article on an electronics site, and I'm pretty sure it only has two cameras: forward and below it
However, I guess you're free to try and put your own micro cameras on it, and try it out.
@ryan11540 no, the ARdrone creates the WiFi network you fly on, (not connected to the internet)
@bbboy1997 it's not cg, it really works like this
I have a few questions, 1. How much is this very nice product? 2. Do you have to have a iPod, iTouch, or iPad? Does it come with normal controller?
omg this is fantastic!
I couldn't find anything about that on the internet and I'm wondering if the cameras affect the battery life? Wouldn't it fly longer without them? :>
I mean the additional weight and data transmission :)
Sorry if I sound noobish, just interested:p
Wonder if the military will ever have a manned version of this.
@TheNamesJosh35 The app FreeFlight in free on App Store and Android Market !
wouldnt it be cool if the parrot thingy had like a heat sensor radar thingy so then it could follow heat sources around the area (a person)..and you can adjust how it follows him or her like the exact distance it is away from it and which side it stays on and you can put it on auto pilot so it can follow the person...i dont bring this up as a new way of stalking lol...i think it would be a greater easier and more accurate way to capture footage of like skating bmx or anything extreme along that
True!
Great information.
Wow damn, haha. Pretty freaking awesome.
GUYS LISTEN!!!
This only uses its own wifi connection!!
U don't need to use a wifi hotspot!!!
the ultimate tool for a peeping tom!
Around 50 meters via Wi-Fi
@windhawk0012 because its so real
this would be great for catching skate footage :]
