Today we bring you to Boppard, the beautiful small town at the Rhine Gorge in Germany. Boppard is in the Middle Rhine Valley in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It's on the west bank of the Rhine, at a point, where the deep river gorge turns sharply (the Bopparder Hamm) before continuing north towards Koblenz. Boppard is an hour and 40 minutes by train and a little less by car from both the cities of Cologne and Frankfurt and around 30 minutes from the city of Koblenz. The town of Boppard is a typical little village of the romantic Rhine region. It has a rich history dating, back to the 1st century a.d. when the Romans built a fort here, called Bodobrica. It also flourished during the 1st an 3rd century with fishing and trading. Today, its numerous historical monuments attract tourists from all over the world.
