This music is unlike anything before or after Yes. One main point is that the members were beyond virtuosos, and many songs had very accessible portions, not just endless musical obscurity. I in particular remember many girls wearing Yes tour t-shirts, almost never other prog units.
Lol, I was in Seventh Grade when Yes began back in 1968. Although, today depending on my listening mood there are too many Classic Yes songs on my Favorites List to mention. Lol !!! However, after discovering this music video ( the extended edit version) this is by far My "All-Time" favorite Ever. Great job again "Yes" !!! Oh, BTW !!! I have submitted Other reviews on Yes on other MV's and I will reinterate that: IMO - the "Genere" should be defined as: ("Yes" - Best known for it's {Progressive, Classical, Renaissance Style} Rock Music in It's Time) - Period!!!. There Style of Music is quite "Unique" - and Second to None. A Group that "Can-Not" be Duplicated by any other Rock Group out there. Love Ya Always - "Yes". Thank You for All the memories over the past 40+ years (1968-Present). P.S. (Again, (Roger Dean,) your Art Work has been always "Simply Subperb") - Bravo!!!
I was in second grade when this was released. As for Seventh Grade, that's when I discovered "YES". What better way then with "YESSONGS" being my first album. And the "RELAYER" tour being my first tour. Let the games begin!🫧🌟🎶🫧
For Yes connoisseurs. The outtake insertions are nice in the way they show the intended spaces & progressions. Also the outtakes haven’t been bathed in reverb ie: the drier drums reveal beat patterns I’d never noticed. Thank you
I was 15 when this LP came out, and over the years I have listened to almost every month of my life, I have a German white label copy, 2 American version ‘s and various CDs I first heard the extended version on the YES box version. I often wonder how this LP would have sounded with Bill Bruford on drums, I think it would have been brighter and perhaps more complex. Of course Alan came to the table with Relayer, after that he was no longer a Rock drummer. I agree with another person who posted, YES is beyond Progressive Rock, they are in a category of their own making. No other Band will ever come close to the song writing and musicianship of Squire, Anderson and Howe. Long after we are all gone, I wonder how future young people will receive this music.
40+con̈certs since '72 Chjcagoʻ to Grand Rapids '23. I sat behind JANE, JON̈'S wife. I had lap sìgn/art on paper towels .@her presence & scen̈t was intoxicating. YÈS4VR
Clearly a lot of work gone into this, but the "out-takes" are just the "Dance of the Dawn" studio run through from the 2003 remaster CD chopped up into bits. Nothing new here, just duplication. Still - good fun though.
Heavy-metal writer Martin Popoff is a Yes fan and writing on their induction; has written each Topographic Tale is/ was shortened from lengthier compositions. Thus, so short.
As a big time YES fan, I love their stuff.......but to be honest, Rick should have used a Mellotron instead of that damn irritating Moog synthesizer on most of their songs.
When I was a teenager, I thought this album was so cool, so fantastic but now, as an adult, I see it as overdone, unbelievably pretentious and even boring. I couldn't listen to all four sides of this monstrosity even if you paid me. Sorry.
This is truly a masterpiece of music history. YES definitely knew what were doing
I WAS so young, I took this music seriously!!!!!!!.........

...the only other Lystrophyans I know of are The Cocteau Twins...

I wish I had been there, however, I was a little child at that time, I envy everyone who were fortunate enough to see those shows in the seventies.
Thankyou 'Stringquartet' for this x-tended cut. Been a Yes fan since about 72'. First I've heard this x-tended cut....majic.!!! Thankyou.✌
Don’t we all wish that Jon loved Revealing Science of God as much as Ritual? We would have all heard it live so many more times . . .

one of yes's lost gems, this song is awesome from the composition, right on to the playing.
One of the last songs I thought that I would hear an extended edition of.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 that’s exactly what I thought!
it's actually suite number one on T.F.T.O.
…with tongue planted firmly in cheek 😗
I bought this double lp not realising it was and it took years for me to get sides 3 and 4 but it awakended me

Love the extended opening. It really sets the tone so well.
Not extended, this was/is the original opening.
@@hanvanwees2948 Not on either my Australian Vinyl or CD copy it was.
This is excellent. Do more of these.
I did but a bunch of man-bitches ended up crying about ruining great songs.
As a YES fan since 72...first time I heard this..thank you for this
I love YES music.... Una maravilla.
Super idée que ce mix extra long...
Gorgeous this super long mix ! Thanks
Then, I grew up and took it along with me according to some sage advice I was given when I was seventeen!!!.........
It's part of me . The world can't break..
Perfect!!!!!!!.
Thank you for the upload!!!.
That was a cool strange trip!! I enjoyed it!!
Totally agree ! Just awoke with very Short Version in the German Charts
Awesome! This could be an Album in itself.
You should do this for the other 3 songs on the original album.
I did but a bunch of cry-babies ended up whining about ruining great songs.
That's nuts. This is awsome!
Well done! Thank you very much!

Well done, this post reveals your artistic talent, Bravo!!
Love this!
Interesting how someone just took my entire animation and used it! Interesting in-progress recording
This was the version performed on the original tour that debuted this music. MBB
Heb deze gekocht via internet, terwijl ik de originele elpee ook heb 😁
Muy bueno
Great job! I love the animations!
the video is good too.taking scenes from their albums during that time period.
nice job i loved it mmmm nice 40 minute piece !!
Brillaint. well done, you beat me to this !
NO Terry Gilliams were damaged during the creation of this product.
As a little kid, I cannot guess as to how I would have reacted to this!!!?!!...

Finally! Someone who understands what I did! :-)
back when attention spans existed
Anyone else think that Kate Murphy may like Yes?
RUclips just keep amazing me. "Animated, extended edit" - what will they come up with next? Are there any limits? 🤔
Heavy-metal writer Martin Popoff is a Yes fan and writing on their induction; has written each Topographic Tale is/ was shortened from lengthier compositions. Thus, so short.
Great! Herculean work to revive the artwork of Roger Dean!
And there is the quality 720p or at least 480p?
-240
Brilliant. Where did you get the alternate sections from?
3:46
still using my animation I see!

There’s so much mellotron in this song

Music for your retirement and youth
