@@ABDUlABDALLAH-qh4op You'll need to use the meta account you originally had when first starting the Quest. That account should then be turned into a dev account, followed by the steps outlined in the video.

My son’s quest 2 has been stuck on this screen ever since we had to do the factory reset. After many hours of doing every other possible fix suggestion we could find online, I stumbled across this video and we finally got past that! He is now happily playing GTag again. Thank you!!!!!!!!
Bearski for the WIN! My 9 year old daughter received a quest 2 for Christmas last year (2023), 3 months into enjoying it, she gets stuck not being able to play because of the pairing issue. Tried all the recommendations from meta, what a joke those are. But this work around really works, you're a life saver bro and made my daughters day.
Many thanks. My oculus has been out of commission for months, I would try and connect it to my phone once a week just to see if it fixed its self, but I just got that same “can’t connect to devices”. My sons oculus stopped working a month ago. When he would turn it on, it just said "unable to pair". We researched for hours and spent many times contacting Meta about it, only for them to tell us ours was out of warranty and that we could buy a refurbished one for $170.00. We were just about to throw in the towel until my older son asked if we "had checked with youtube university cause that's where everyone goes to get knowledge" :) Of course I stumbled upon this video and figure why not, there's nothing to lose. Well, guess what, this guy is a genius! I am not a techy person, however my son and I followed all his steps/prompts and my son's oculus is now working again!!! Thank you Bearski. I bought a Meta Quest 2 from my friend who forgot to unlink it from his account / factory reset it at his house which is half way across the country. So I factory resetted it and when it got to the code to pair on mobile device it just would not pair at all. tried everything there was I could read. Finally stubmled across this video and with a little patience cause of terrible bluetooth signal to my PC I was able to get it to work! life saver here.
New sub from Seattle!! I've been having that problem for about a month. I've searched the internet up and down for a solution for quite a long time like about 5 minutes. I found nothing that works so I finally said I should talk to meta. After talking to 7,977 different meta support team person suggesting to try different things to my headset (which still none of them worked) from doing a factory reset to stop yelling at my my headset. I kept saying nothing is working and added maybe you guys should reset the factory. They responded saying it didn't work either. With all kidding aside. I would like to thank you for this video. I'm going to ship my headset to them this Monday the 25th. But now after watching your video I'm tempted to try it. What if it works and I still send it to them, I wonder if they'll be able to tell that my headset is working properly and send mine back to me. I'd miss on getting a new or refurbished headset. I got about a day to think about it so if you or anybody else that made it this far and would like to say something please feel free. Thank you.
If on warranty, take the new one. If you are needing to buy a new or refurbished. I’d go with the repair and save the cash. Times are tough. Ultimately your choice, good luck on the trek back to gaming!

I connected WiFi and Bluetooth USB adapters to my desktop computer. WiFi is connected to the same network, and I could see Bluetooth devices. I spent 5 sleepless nights with the APK and 3 with the Oculus hub, couldn't find the device; Oculus support personnel refused to replace it because I don't live in one of the advanced countries. I tried with a laptop, and pufff, it was solved within minutes. Thank you very much for the video; those who failed with a desktop PC should try with a laptop.

@@Obiburger Just for shits and giggles. What happens if you touch and hold the unpaired controller to the front faceplate of the headset. Does anything happen?
Will sadly it won't work for me I've just been on the screen where it shows to pull out the downward arrow stickers from the controllers and shows the code to type in at the top
My son has the same problem. We will try this solution. Can you then only log in to the quest with one account or is it still possible with multiple accounts? And when I change networks, for example, if you have several or if you're at a friend's house. Is this possible without problems or do you have to change it accordingly in the settings in the developer account?
If the headset exhibits the “device identity” error then you won’t be able to add additional accounts. No one knows what causes this error and there is no solution. You can change wifi networks through the headset without issues.
Hey man thank you so much for this video. My son is going to lose his mind that hes finally able to play on his Quest 2 again. We've been struggling to get this thing reconnected again. He accidentally did a full reset because thats what he thought I said to do the next time VRchat started crashing. It wasn't. I said just clear the cache, but he must have thought that meant something else. One question. Does dev mode make one bit of difference if hes just playing games? Can it be turned off if or does it need to be?
Good morning! Glad to hear the video was able to help. Dev mode doesn’t change anything at all; gameplay wise. Biggest benefit would be that you can plug the the headset into a computer and install sidequest/mods. Have a good one!
I've been using this as my solution since January. Issue I have with using this is the native calling or joining a call does not work. I chalked it up to the calling feature using the app to establish the calls and this solution was not pairing the headset within the app. It does pair with the account, so it's at least heading in the same direction
So super weird issue, about 1 week after I did this fix to my own headset, people and calling began working again. There was no rhyme or reason why. It just began working.
I have a question so when I tried to connect my headset on my phone it says look into your headset for a code and when I look their is not a code do you know why?
Damn, I can’t recall the exact setting header, but you can view this in the settings app. Try typing in “headset code” or pairing code in the search bar of settings. It should come up then.
@@BearskiVR I will say this, I am not telling their tech support about it because if I do, knowing Facebook they will say "Well you are not a professional developer so we are disabling your account." That would be typical Facebook behavior. Well technically I am a quantitative developer and teach machine learning in Python at a local university part time and do plan in building an app in Unity for my son one day but they still would cancel my account beacause that is Facebook for ya.

appreciate the help, unfortunately it didn't work for me. I got as far as "sign in with MQDH account" and it just hangs there with the spinning loading icon on the blue button. Any ideas how I can get around this?

If I don't have a bluetooth adapter is that just it? when you're on mqdh "connect a device", it just says "bluetooth not detected", wired doesn't work either.
Strangest thing that it connects through wifi. But it checks if your computer has Bluetooth. If on warranty then I’d definitely swap it. Otherwise you’ll need to find a friend or family member with a pc/laptop that has Bluetooth.

Hmm, possibly restart your computer and try again. Is just a generic browser authentication page that pops up for you to log in and verify with a meta account. Is your Facebook account. Different than your meta account?

If I do this, will the headset settings be accessible? I'm trying to pair a new controller to my headset and have to do it through the app (IMO stupidest idea ever) but the headset setting is greyed out and can't access it
Such a bad idea. Why can you not activate Bluetooth pairing and then pair it to your headset. No idea. So, my quest 2 does eventually pair back to the app, it just refreshed itself after an update. Not super helpful. But there is hope. Your quest isn’t on warranty by chance?
@@BearskiVR unfortunately it out of warranty. I bought this when it was still called Oculus quest 2. 😆 But yeah Bluetooth setting is turned on with my phone when doing this. Another video suggested I hit casting on to help unlock the future but even casting doesn't work. I'm wondering if the recent software update is glitched on the app
@@aaronlpeck1884 type meta zipped firmware into google use the website the ends in “.trade” I can’t type the first part as it’s in the demonetizable word list. I’d recommend v60 for the firmware. Was the most stable build as far as I know. Unzip the file, do the factory reset procedure for your headset(don’t actually factory reset, just get to the menu) select upload firmware instead of factory resetting. And pray you can pair to the app. I’d personally go through each firmware and see if one will work. Good luck!
Hey I have the app pairing issue but I also have 2 new controllers that won't pair and no longer have the old ones. I factory reset the headset trying to fix the app pairing issue so now I'm stuck on the 1st setup stage where you need to pair controllers. I can't use the fix in the video as it tells me to continue setup in the headset after the wifi stage. I know it's a long shot but if you have any suggestions they would be appreciated
Oh damn. Have you tried putting the controllers in pairing mode to see if the quest detects them? I’m not sure if the dev hub has a manual invoke pair like the phone app does.

I'm guessing it's probably still technically connected to the old controllers and won't auto connect to new ones, though with it not pairing on the app I can't check

I did this about 3 weeks ago, today i was going to play and it said to me to log on another device and gave me an error message with no code, i tried to do this method with my notebook again and it didn't work this time is there something you know to fix this?
Meta had a crash this morning. I hear it ended up fixing some people’s apps though. If you previously paired with Bluetooth, you may be able to use a cable to sign on.
This worked for me...at least to the point of getting into the headset. Going through the website to try and download apps doesn't seem to work...keeps saying "something went wrong" or gives me a timeout error. edit: what did work was using my PC to sign into my meta account on the app lab and get the apps there. Although it said I didn't have a headset paired, when I next fired up my Q2, the apps were there ready to install.
Yo, thanks for ur video. In MQDH I get empty window "Choose Device" when trying to find my Quest 3. I tried a lot of phones, routers, PC, laptop. In mobile app I catch "Unable to find your headset". Tried to flash v65, v64 ROMs, a lot of factory resets. May be Bluetooth module died in my Quest 3? Btw earlier my Quest 3 was working.
That’s brutal! Plus side is that your q3 is definitely on warranty. Do you know if your router is broadcasting g 2.4g and 5g? That can confuse the headset for whatever reason.

I need help actually because I've been stuck at where it says answer Oculus prompt in the quest and reboot and come back here to follow the rest of the steps My Oculus was already put in factory reset mode . I said you're just made me buy the right controller. Jesus. I even tried to do my best on my end knowing I used to work in IT. (Its a software issue on metas end) And the thing . If I buy a meta quest 3 Chances are I'm going to experience the same thing again. And they're going to tell me to buy it again. But I did professionally tell them "please advise your developer to fix this software engineering issue. It can create lots of value and realibility toward what we're paying for and for meta itself . Also a can increase sales. "

Im not good at saying things but did your headset ever connect back to your phone? for me it shows up, but it never connects. I cant access the headset settings on the app, or cast.
Ah okay, for me my headset is on the app but doesnt connect. After the servers went down i deleted my headset from my account and tried to pair it. Had to use this. My headset showed up on the app after a few minutes. Didnt connect at all but was there. I had a chat with a customer support person and from my previous emails etc, they said that it was a software glitch/error in my headset. I sent a picture and a video of errors i was having. Once i was offered a replacement but i declined as i know that this will be fixed soon. They said to me that i should wait for the next software update, and also said they will do more troubleshooting to see if they can fix it that way
@@iii-uv5rl ooh, was it a free replacement? I would’ve took it. This error has been going on for a long time now. Also prevents casting to phone and making calls(the calls app does fix it self after some time) Thanks for the info though, always appreciated.

Your quest 2 should heal the chrome cast feature in a few weeks to a month. It did for me but I can’t say why it wouldn’t work now or why it would fix itself.

Hard to say, my question 2 eventually allowed me to pair it with my phone after I paired it to the dev app. Just give it some time. You should be able to make a call to people in time.
would I be able to use this hub thing to do my first set up as well? I just ordered a Quest 2 and was very excited about it. While checking in advance how to set up I found out I need the app for first set up, but the app won't work!!! I tried several fix it "solutions" but it still keeps giving me an error msg when I try to log in in any way. It would be really sad if one can't use the device because the app won't work properly... The app may work when it detects the headset on your home network. Did you take advantage of the friend referral? Both parties receive $30 if a new quest user accepts the referral prior to activating the headset.
even though I'm logged in with the network. Its not finding the Quest on the Developer hub but is showing on the meta account through the browser. Any help is appreciated
@@firewaterbars ah, that’ll be the issue. For some reason quest 2 and 3 Has a hard time setting up on non pure 2.4 networks. That’s been confirmed by meta as well. Could try hotspotting your headset and pc to a phone.

@@TamperedMarioBros this should take you through all the steps to set up the account. developer.oculus.com/documentation/native/android/mobile-device-setup/ Make sure it’s the same meta account you used prior. Developer mode for the headset isn’t required.

I connected WiFi and Bluetooth USB adapters to my desktop computer. WiFi is connected to the same network, and I could see Bluetooth devices. I spent 5 sleepless nights with the APK and 3 with the Oculus hub, couldn't find the device; Oculus support personnel refused to replace it because I don't live in one of the advanced countries. I tried with a laptop, and pufff, it was solved within minutes. Thank you very much for the video; those who failed with a desktop PC should try with a laptop.

My son has the same problem. We will try this solution. Can you then only log in to the quest with one account or is it still possible with multiple accounts?
And when I change networks, for example, if you have several or if you're at a friend's house. Is this possible without problems or do you have to change it accordingly in the settings in the developer account?
If the headset exhibits the “device identity” error then you won’t be able to add additional accounts. No one knows what causes this error and there is no solution.
You can change wifi networks through the headset without issues.
Hey man thank you so much for this video. My son is going to lose his mind that hes finally able to play on his Quest 2 again. We've been struggling to get this thing reconnected again. He accidentally did a full reset because thats what he thought I said to do the next time VRchat started crashing. It wasn't. I said just clear the cache, but he must have thought that meant something else.
One question. Does dev mode make one bit of difference if hes just playing games? Can it be turned off if or does it need to be?

Dev mode doesn’t change anything at all; gameplay wise. Biggest benefit would be that you can plug the the headset into a computer and install sidequest/mods.

I've been using this as my solution since January. Issue I have with using this is the native calling or joining a call does not work. I chalked it up to the calling feature using the app to establish the calls and this solution was not pairing the headset within the app. It does pair with the account, so it's at least heading in the same direction
So super weird issue, about 1 week after I did this fix to my own headset, people and calling began working again.
There was no rhyme or reason why. It just began working.

I have a question so when I tried to connect my headset on my phone it says look into your headset for a code and when I look their is not a code do you know why?
Damn, I can’t recall the exact setting header, but you can view this in the settings app.
Try typing in “headset code” or pairing code in the search bar of settings.
It should come up then.
My hero! Meta's product manager needs to be fired.

@@BearskiVR I will say this, I am not telling their tech support about it because if I do, knowing Facebook they will say "Well you are not a professional developer so we are disabling your account." That would be typical Facebook behavior. Well technically I am a quantitative developer and teach machine learning in Python at a local university part time and do plan in building an app in Unity for my son one day but they still would cancel my account beacause that is Facebook for ya.

appreciate the help, unfortunately it didn't work for me. I got as far as "sign in with MQDH account" and it just hangs there with the spinning loading icon on the blue button. Any ideas how I can get around this?
Only thing I can suggest is to restart the pc/reinstall the mqdh app.

If I don't have a bluetooth adapter is that just it? when you're on mqdh "connect a device", it just says "bluetooth not detected", wired doesn't work either.
Strangest thing that it connects through wifi. But it checks if your computer has Bluetooth.
If on warranty then I’d definitely swap it. Otherwise you’ll need to find a friend or family member with a pc/laptop that has Bluetooth.

When I go on meta quest developer hub and click login with a meta account it says continue in you’re browser but there is nothing in my browser any ideas on how to do it ?
Hmm, possibly restart your computer and try again.
Is just a generic browser authentication page that pops up for you to log in and verify with a meta account.

If I do this, will the headset settings be accessible? I'm trying to pair a new controller to my headset and have to do it through the app (IMO stupidest idea ever) but the headset setting is greyed out and can't access it

Why can you not activate Bluetooth pairing and then pair it to your headset.

So, my quest 2 does eventually pair back to the app, it just refreshed itself after an update. Not super helpful. But there is hope.

@@BearskiVR unfortunately it out of warranty. I bought this when it was still called Oculus quest 2. 😆 But yeah Bluetooth setting is turned on with my phone when doing this. Another video suggested I hit casting on to help unlock the future but even casting doesn't work. I'm wondering if the recent software update is glitched on the app

I can’t type the first part as it’s in the demonetizable word list.
I’d recommend v60 for the firmware. Was the most stable build as far as I know.
Unzip the file, do the factory reset procedure for your headset(don’t actually factory reset, just get to the menu) select upload firmware instead of factory resetting. And pray you can pair to the app.
I’d personally go through each firmware and see if one will work.

Hey I have the app pairing issue but I also have 2 new controllers that won't pair and no longer have the old ones. I factory reset the headset trying to fix the app pairing issue so now I'm stuck on the 1st setup stage where you need to pair controllers. I can't use the fix in the video as it tells me to continue setup in the headset after the wifi stage. I know it's a long shot but if you have any suggestions they would be appreciated

What’s your default browser? Sounds like it’s having issues.
Try changing your default browser to chrome and sign in to meta.

I did this about 3 weeks ago, today i was going to play and it said to me to log on another device and gave me an error message with no code, i tried to do this method with my notebook again and it didn't work this time is there something you know to fix this?
Meta had a crash this morning. I hear it ended up fixing some people’s apps though.
If you previously paired with Bluetooth, you may be able to use a cable to sign on.

This worked for me...at least to the point of getting into the headset. Going through the website to try and download apps doesn't seem to work...keeps saying "something went wrong" or gives me a timeout error. edit: what did work was using my PC to sign into my meta account on the app lab and get the apps there. Although it said I didn't have a headset paired, when I next fired up my Q2, the apps were there ready to install.
Odd, you can use the meta app to purchase/download apps as well and save them to the headset.

In MQDH I get empty window "Choose Device" when trying to find my Quest 3.
I tried a lot of phones, routers, PC, laptop. In mobile app I catch "Unable to find your headset". Tried to flash v65, v64 ROMs, a lot of factory resets.
May be Bluetooth module died in my Quest 3? Btw earlier my Quest 3 was working.

Plus side is that your q3 is definitely on warranty.
Do you know if your router is broadcasting g 2.4g and 5g? That can confuse the headset for whatever reason.
My headset serial number never pops up idk how to fix it it’s on the same network and everything and Bluetooth is on
Restart the pc and laptop and give it another go.
Maybe turn anti virus/firewall off for a minute to make they aren’t blocking the necessary port.
What can I do it dosent keep loading on the sign in with mqdh account when I click next

Chances are I'm going to experience the same thing again. And they're going to tell me to buy it again. But I did professionally tell them "please advise your developer to fix this software engineering issue. It can create lots of value and realibility toward what we're paying for and for meta itself . Also a can increase sales. "
The developer hub should be able to detect the quest via Bluetooth on the pc/laptop. Then you’ll input the pairing code into the hun to move forward.

Im not good at saying things but did your headset ever connect back to your phone? for me it shows up, but it never connects. I cant access the headset settings on the app, or cast.
Actually, it just randomly did. Took around 2 weeks and then everything came back.
Ah okay, for me my headset is on the app but doesnt connect. After the servers went down i deleted my headset from my account and tried to pair it. Had to use this. My headset showed up on the app after a few minutes. Didnt connect at all but was there. I had a chat with a customer support person and from my previous emails etc, they said that it was a software glitch/error in my headset. I sent a picture and a video of errors i was having. Once i was offered a replacement but i declined as i know that this will be fixed soon. They said to me that i should wait for the next software update, and also said they will do more troubleshooting to see if they can fix it that way

This error has been going on for a long time now. Also prevents casting to phone and making calls(the calls app does fix it self after some time)

You can still cast to pc. Maybe screen capture if you have an android phone.
I can't believe it work. But my only problem is how do I cast to my TV I wanna screen mirror to the TV so that my family can see what I'm doing in the oculus quest 2
Your quest 2 should heal the chrome cast feature in a few weeks to a month.
It did for me but I can’t say why it wouldn’t work now or why it would fix itself.

Hard to say, my question 2 eventually allowed me to pair it with my phone after I paired it to the dev app.
Just give it some time. You should be able to make a call to people in time.

would I be able to use this hub thing to do my first set up as well? I just ordered a Quest 2 and was very excited about it. While checking in advance how to set up I found out I need the app for first set up, but the app won't work!!! I tried several fix it "solutions" but it still keeps giving me an error msg when I try to log in in any way. It would be really sad if one can't use the device because the app won't work properly... (I've seen a lot of ppl online have this problem but I can't find a solution)

The app may work when it detects the headset on your home network.
Did you take advantage of the friend referral? Both parties receive $30 if a new quest user accepts the referral prior to activating the headset.

Could try hotspotting your headset and pc to a phone.
