    Thanks for sharing this. Teleprompters are a must have for anyone delivering scripted content media. I only wish I had binocular vision to make it useful for me. I actually built a prompter with an old CRT monitor, and glass for a DVD I made back before the tablets came out, but my one good eye made me appear to be looking away from the camera. I had to use an off axis prompter to compensate. I now have a prompter similar to this one, (maybe an early version). Works great for guests in the studio with scripts, or out of studio, for that matter. :)

    Like lonearcherfilms, I use a couple of picture frames. It works perfectly. The setup took about ten minutes.

    I know this is cheap compared to the pro teleprompters, but its still a decent chuck of change for what it is. I use a teleprompter on every episode of my show that I built from 2 picture frames for less than $20 and it works just as well.

      I find that annoying

      +itastain Yeah, I get them on my channel too unfortunately. I just felt like commenting on something being touted as cheap when its over $200 for what's essentially a trapper keeper with a bit of plastic in it.

    That would be an excellent teleprompter for our show if it had REMOTE CONTROL. On camera, sometimes people get nervous and need a loooooot of scrolling back. It'd be nice to have a crew member off camera just to focus on prompter operation. The on-camera talent and the camera person have enough to worry about. If it's a one-man production, that's gonna be one EPIC workout! lol

      You can get bluetooth foot switches for the iPad (Pageflip Cicada is a good one) that let you pause the scroll - works for me.

      +My Life Japan Hi. You are 100% right. I have used a diy teleprompter system someone built, and I spent some time building exactly what you are talking about. Basically, it's a windows application that controls the script, fontsize, play/pause and speed. Then any tablet or computer can display the image by simply browsing to a webpage that is on the internal network.
      We gave our talent some control over the speed of the teleprompter, but quickly agreed that it was a lot better if he just read and I would adjust for his reading speed on the fly.
      This set up worked great, especially in a live environment when our talent had no time to prepare. Broadcast still looked professional.

      +My Life Japan I just got this teleprompter last week - it's pretty cool. I bought and returned one from Ikan that had a hardware remote control, but it didn't work well/consistently, and the rail system was poorly designed (hard to keep attached to the camera, hard to work with, and really heavy and bulky - this is quite thin and portable). With regard to remote control, there ARE some teleprompter apps that provide remote control functionality - the folks at OneTakeOnly recommend Teleprompter +3, which allows you to use your iPhone as a remote control for the app on your iPad - so, don't discount this product because it doesn't come with a remote - that can be added as a function of the software, which is NOT included with this hardware or any others that I have tried. Also, I found the people behind this teleprompter to be REALLY responsive via email for support and questions.

    I wish this was around 5 years ago when I bought my prompter. Now I'm stuck with an older model that connects to a laptop via RGB cable. The price is a bargain, and I know that some will complain. But if you're making money from producing corporate videos, you can easily add on the cost for prompter, which rents for hundreds a day.

    Can anyone advise on how to set it up for a tripod? Just purchased it and the instructions don’t really explain tripod. Only shows light stand set up. Thanks

    • @TomAntos
      @TomAntos 2 года назад

      You don't attach it directly to a tripod but to 15mm rails that are part of the camera rig. You then attach the whole rig ti the tripod.

    Too much money. All you need is a HDMI cable for 4 dollars connecting your computer to your TV at home. Put your camera in between you and the TV and start reading the text on your TV screen which is bigger and easier to read from. www.easyprompter.com is a website to scroll your text in the same way. If you are on the go, then you have to pay the money they sell this teleprompter for, sadly.

      In a professional environment the way your describing will not work, you will be able to tell the subject is not looking into the camera and is reading something off to the side or above or below . Right tool for the right job is key to getting more jobs. It's the difference between a good content and great content.
