Are you FREAKING KIDDING ME???? I've been so annoyed for YEARS because my column width never translated . . . I thought it was just me, because I never heard anyone else complaining about it. Thank you for always showing me quick and easy ways to do my job! Sumit, you're my hero!!
Thank you for this fantastic tip! It has been such an irritating detail in Excel. So far I have used the icon for copying the original source, but it never worked with columns. And the solution has been so close :)
GREAT VIDEO as always. Thank you! A question for all My ALT E S W does not work. I keep getting a message that ALT E is not there. Has anyone run into this issue?
You can also open the Paste Special dialog box using Control + Alt + V (hold both Control and ALT key and then press V). Then use the W key to select the column width option.
For a moment, I thought it was some nonsense from the notorious Trump University or associated in some way with Donald Trump. Luckily, I did not skip and learnt something very useful. Thanks very much!
This method does maintain column width but it seems that if you want the column width, row height and ALL formatting (ie, formatted as table, font colors etc) the only way to do it is to select the entire worksheet. Please prove me wrong as I would really like an easier solution than copying everything and trimming down to just what I want. Or copying a limited selection and reformatting everything. And of course if there is already data in the sheet pasting “everything” is a problem. Hopefully someone will point out a way to do this.

So cool. It's so simple but I didn't know it existed. Great video as always, Sumit, thank you s much for your excellent videos!
Great tutorial. How can also copy paste the row heights?
I feel so stupid- how many times have I seen that paste special menu and never noticed the column width option??? Thank you!!!
For me I usually use shortcuts: ctrl C and then ctrl alt V + W (for the width of column)
Great tip, thanks a lot!

I use a simplest way: Just Copy the whole colums, instead of the limited range.
Oh so that also automatically adjusts to the source column width, is it?
Ctrl + W seems faster
Control + W closes the workbook. Not sure how to use it to copy paste column width
@@trumpexcel my description was not good. after ctrl + V, then ctrl again for pop up menu. shortcut is W. (not ctrl + W at the same time)
@@manosvenianakis9323 yeah, that's a good way to do it. Thanks for sharing
Alt+H+o+i
