Unrecognized and definately untreated case of postpartum psychosis? Although in those days the "treatment" probably would have done more harm than good! I am always Bewitched by Ms Moorehead"s performances. Thanks for these great old shows.
Agnes Moorehead was a national treasure. Too few realized it. So much more than just a "star." She was an ARTIST. This story reminds me of Silent Snow, Secret Snow.
Good as Miss Moorehead is, the original short story is even better. It's told entirely through the woman's diary entries, and her encroaching insanity progresses so gradually that it is impossible to tell where it actually begins. The ending is bizarre and horrifying.
The psychological challenge of the human refinement of marriage and child bearing, Lack of objectivity was found and devastating. Triumphant was not kin.
WOW, this is a good thriller, with great artist performance!!!!
I love these radio shows . I think they are great , especially at bedtime. Love the old time shows!

Another wonderful performance by my favorite actress!

I downloaded this old gem .... Thanks for posting

It is also reminiscent of The Haunting of Hill House. Could it have inspired Shirley Jackson?
@@hyramesshiramess1035 Seeing as Miss Jackson suffered from a similar malady to the lady in this story, she likely identified somewhat with her.
She was a scenery-chewing, glorified-community-theater hack

Amazing! I prefer this version; I like the younger Agnes, and the husband, who I believe is the great William Johnstone.
Thank you. Mare
This is so freaky! I love Human Event!
She is freaking out about what she sees in the wall paper ...is she crazy? Probably yes... but it’s fun. Good ol Agnes Moorhead .

Agnes Moorehead the first lady of Supense.
I was expecting them to say she ripped her skin off or something.
Thank You 😦
I love the shows I think they're better than Edge of Night
What the hell was that about? Just mental illness? Cuz I just don't get it. It had no ending. Some of these Suspense shows have no ending.
Just a decent in to madness. She makes you actually see that wallpaper...
😂
