What was supposed to be a "quick Far Harbor" build turned into this 5.5 hour build-fest that I've managed to cut down to 2 hours. I should have known better!

EDIT: Two things which are missing; a radio tower/antenna for communication with the mainland, and fire extinguishers (which are a must in all my settlement builds).

You don't seem to like the windmills, but I think they look pretty cool! I have a small mod that makes them faster, and I should boost their output a little bit, but I really like having actual moving parts in my settlements.
I like them because they are more realistic. All other generators (even fusion generators) need fuel, but they don't use any.
+Elephant Warrior Don't they use nuclear power to fuel up the generators?
Only the fusion reactors. The other generators use conventional fuel such as diesel.
+Chris Jones Even fusion would need Hydrogen atoms to smash together.
it hydrogen comes from water duh its called H20 for a reason
It would be cool if you would build a destroyed and abandoned minuteman outpost/base that bandits could have a hideout in or something.

You have no idea how much the barn posts saved my immersion! (console so no mods... yet)
If you are low on nuclear material, just get a gun that turns enemies to green goo, and that gives you nuclear material.
Plasma.
Regarding nuclear material: I farm it with plasma weapons. Well, that and General Store toys and alarm clocks/etc.
Please please please have Joel in all your tours! I love having you explain the build to him. Really adds to the entertainment value for me
this world-building process pleases me every time
If you use the stairs with the top and bottom floors attached that are under the wood floor category in the vanilla game and snap the bottom to the edge of the bottom deck you can then snap your next deck level to the top of the stairs to get them to line up perfectly. works the same for snapping the big concrete blocks
i never thought about the power settlement build could have... until i saw this series, holy shit this inspired me to build my own settlements ALL ACROSS THE COMMONWEALTH! I THOUGHT THERE WASN'T ENOGUH ROOM FOR ALL MY IDEAS! SO I INSTALLED MODS TO GIVE ME MORE SETTLEMENTS! MORE SETTLEMENTS! MORE MORE MORE!!!! i have a obsession with downloading more settlements mods... i need a fucking doctor jesus christ.
Yo evilviking13, try using getpos and setpos for stacking stuff like you were with the tower. get and set get the actual position and set it to the actual pos. so by clicking on the bottom of the tower and typing getpos x and getpos y then clicking on the second floor peice you could pass those numbers to it with setpos x and setpos y. this will set the second floor at the exact same x y coordinate then you just adjust the z axis till you have it where you want it. also works with rotation. those are getangle and setangle, will make matching angles much easier. i will say though that rotating on any axis other than z results in strange behavior.

18:58 Place everywhere can do the incremental moves too, so you don't have to use macros in the CC. Rotate as well. Also, if you had left that piece where it snapped, you could have just snapped another floor piece to it in the middle of the posts.

a new evilviking settlement build?! is it Christmas yet?
Would love for you to bring out your own 'DLC like' mod. You know we get a radio call from a crazy minuteman scientist/architect (dave, he could voice him and such but he couldn't be the general as your character is) but he bring us out to an island roughly the size of spectacle island and him and his crew have run out of supplies. Therefore you go and get him supplies and (somehow) you get into a situation where u show of your skills in either building or combat and gain his trust. The quest line would be you rising up his 'ranks' and you would go and help him build up the island (every time you left and came back to the island he would have 'built' something) and eventually you have a large minuteman HQ that the settlers you meet in concord can settle down in.

i would have done a full forward operation base and staging area for the minute man expansion to far harbor

Make a Medical Center settlement at "Sunshine Co-Op Trading". A place where General Dave can send his wounded Minutemen.

Just a couple of qualms with it though. In my opinion, needs an actual armory, even if it's only a mini one. Also, needs some sort of infirmary. Plus, I wasn't particularly thrilled with the way u did the roof (but hey, it's your build, u decide on how it's built). Most importantly though, u didn't have a tour with Joel :(
Love watching you build. Sure there are some things I would do differently but that's always how it is.

I think it woulda been more textured if you used the wood railing on the mesh flooring and keep the steel railings on the wood floor
would be cool if you made a bigger dock in nordhagen beach for supplying far harbor or in kingsport lighthouse

You should add a siren somewhere by the tower. Also I noticed the last staircase at the top of the tower had the top end not connected with the grate platform. Otherwise this is probably one of my favorite builds of yours simply because the premise of it is really cool :)
you should go see Erikson the super mutant, and get some guard dogs for the settlement

So you're obviously establishing a Minuteman presence on the island. Is there a specific quest ending for the minutemen that you know of?
love your builds! have to ask though, the watch tower is so open on three sides with all the holes but you put in filing cabinet and folders. are you using it as some weird punishment? making some poor bastard file reports as the wind and rain sweeps through, "And don't loose a single page or double shifts today for you!!" 😂

Dave you should get the fallout amino app it's awesome you can pretty much do anything on it even upload your videos there after you've uploaded them here it's really fun plus news is always there before anywhere else anyway u was just trying to tell you about a very cool app I've been on it for 19 days and already I've fell in love with its you should try it!

Why aren't you moving the trees? They all say "enter> select" when you highlight them.
tcl = no clip you could make things easier to snap that way

you should try and glitch an American flag post into the minute men post but slightly lower so it looks like your flying both flags on one pole

Plus it would be great to have tips and tricks video on how to expand your settlement, and settler cap without using mods.

Hey, Dave great video; however, I do have a minor question. I myself am on console and do heavily enjoy settlement in immersive (in no small part due to your videos), but wonder how you so many resources so quickly. I know about shipments but myself they deplete so quickly: any suggestions?

I'd love to know what I must be doing wrong as when I try adding all the mods you have to do some of the builds my build menu looks so different than yours. Is there any chance of ya giving some advice please mate. For example I have all the dlc' sand my factory stuff disappears when I add the mods??? Cheers mate

How the heck did u get access to the barn tab?! I use the same settlement keywords mod, yet it doesn't show
Okay. I have no idea where to post this. But I'm super confused. I have some settlement building mods, spring cleaning, and just a few custom armor mods. I can play the game like normal, EX: playing quests and building up a settlement, etc. but as soon as I go into an armor workbench, a VANILLA ONE, my game crashes. Like I said, idk where to post this this problem but I was hoping someone could help me out. And also no, I'm not trying to modify a custom armor from a mod, I'm just trying to modify a normal piece of armor from Far Harbor DLC.
