I agree with you...I went through Hurricane Andrew in Homestead. Clean up took 13 yrs. We were with out power for 3 months. One thing I appreciated during that time was laying down on the hood of my car & seeing stars like I've never seen. I felt so blessed. I had my family my neighbors, & community. That's what you did...once you were done cleaning or fixing your home, you helped your neighbor. What broke my heart the most, it wasn't my family or home & what we were dealing with...my community...my neighbors hurting...hard to see 💔

When Hurricane Matthew hit our island, it was our neighbors who jumped in and cleared the roads, cutting huge trees and moving them out of the way, had we waited on the government we would still be waiting, and FEMA only came in later and assessed the damage.
