Vinicius gets pretty lucky with his assists, that’s what often happens at Madrid because of all the individual brilliance from teammates, they create something out of nothing. That’s also a reason Ronaldo has 1 assist more in UCL than Messi, Messi in 30 games less actually created much more and better chances, they just got converted worse. Same thing if you compare KO stats of creating/assists with Messi & Vini, same amount of assists while Messi created 3 times the amount of 1v1 chances… 🤦🏻♂️
I agree that it’s better to look at what a player creates like xA, Key Passes & BCC instead of pure assist stats. You can create five 1v1 chances and get no assist from it and it’s possible you get an assist from a moment where you don’t even create a big opportunity.
Messi wasn't lucky enough to play with great players like Suarez and Neymar who helped him increase his assists numbers? Luis Suarez was once the top scorer in the league. No one who played with CR7 at Madrid was the top scorer in the Spanish league.
