    I find painting figures into my paintings is enormously challenging. I dread it. Your demo is very helpful and reassuring to me. I think I might be able to make these carroty people! Thank you so much.

      I have no doubt that you can, just go for it. The more you do it, the easier it becomes :)

    Thank you so much. I really enjoyed doing these last night. Great instruction at a perfect pace. I am so pleased I can do a little figure now that looks presentable (nearly). It's harder than it looks. They didn't all turn out perfectly...a few gender changes and facing a different way. Each stroke matters. I will keep practising. Many thanks for the inspiration.

      I am glad this has given you a base to build on. Now as you practice your figures they will become easier to paint and of course they will start walking in the right direction :D

    So great !!! I spent twenty minutes fascinated painting small figures while I was watching your video. You gave me really good ideas! Thank you for your time and pacience to teach. I don´t know yet how to make a difference when the person is looking at me and when he shows his back... I mean when you paint those black figures. Do you have a tip for that?

    • @PaintBasket
      @PaintBasket  7 лет назад +8

      Hi Carolaxis. Glad you enjoyed painting the figures from the video. If the figures are completely black (in silhouette) it is virtually impossible to see if they are facing away from you or towards you. I suggest you painting them almost dark. You can then add some lighter and/or darker colours to show the way they are facing. Hope this helps.

    Thanks for the demo. While it has been very helpful however, What I find at times difficult is how to decide how big or small a figure should be so it fits into the paintings?

    • @PaintBasket
      @PaintBasket  7 лет назад +4

      This is not an easy question to explain in words because each person's mental picture will be different.
      These two videos should be able to give you an good idea in how to place them in a painting. It has all to do with perspective. Study them carefully

    I really learned a lot from your tutorial. Thank you. I need some help. I finished my background, now I need to add in the figures. All my figures are protesting, marching and holding flags. I cant seem to capture the stance and mood of the protesters. Could you do a short video on how to capture attitude and stance of protesters so I can finish my painting?? Please? Thank you

    • @PaintBasket
      @PaintBasket  3 года назад

      What I suggest you do now is go to pixabay.com and find a reference photo of people protesting. That way you will be able to reference from their postures while painting your artwork. Good luck, you can do it!
