Stories are the way we make sense of our world. And, when we see ourselves in the stories we share, we recognize our place in the world. It’s an amazing feeling, the validation that comes from reading, listening to, or watching a story that includes people who look and live like you do. Think back to when you were a kid, and remember the first time you read a book that made you feel seen.
BMGFly was founded on the promise to amplify the stories and center the narratives of Black and Muslim girls and women. Rooted in that promise is the belief that we are meant to share our stories with one another, to create community, to learn, and to grow.
We’ll be sharing some of the many beautiful stories crafted by Black Muslim authors, illustrators, filmmakers, and more, that center our unique perspectives. Come join us and share in the joy of just being our fly selves and expressing that with flair and beauty, that special it-factor that we possess that makes us amazing, dope, & fresh-to-death awesome. #BlackMuslimGirlFly®
*SUPPORT BMGFly and our mission to change the narrative when it comes to Black and Muslim people in media and entertainment, and help us empower the up and coming writers, directors, authors, illustrators, and more, who are creating authentic storytelling.
