  • In this video, the Garagefathers get more familiar with Randy's 1915 Ford model T Roadster, nicknamed Silver Dollars. This little car boasts 1 horsepower per pound, and at only 1800 lbs, you can imagine how fast this fantastic roadster is. This car is so fast that it isn't for the faint of heart, and more of a show piece than it is a track car. Don't get us wrong, this car handles beautifully and functions as it should, but a lot of respect must be given to such a beast. This Hot Rod was created in 1989 and still looks a fresh as the day it was finished. We were so honored to get to showcase this historic Rod. Come jump in and see what all the talk is about~

Great to see this video in 1988 to 92 living in Orlando Florida I had a 1923 t bucket with a 289 board out to a 302 with two four barrels sitting on a Weind high-rise manifold. I had the real antique headlights all brass with the brass radiator Harley-Davidson motorcycle tires and chrome in the front on the rear with 31-15/15 slicks and out the back were stainless steel wheelie. bars custom buckets inside and it was all black. If I figure how to send some pics I could do that I love that car but moving from Orlando back to New Jersey I didn't think I would be using it that much with the kind of weather we have up there so I sold it to someone living near lake Okeechobee.. I sure wish I could get it back.

With No Doubt in my mind. That is the BEST 'T' I have ever or even envisioned. Seriously well done. 1,800 HP Of the charts. Gotta be a wee bit of a handful when you get on it.

This hot rod is absolutely stunning! I know it's built mainly for show but i'm guessing it would do 0-60 in about 1 second and theoretical top speed would be over 200.

I recently came across a video of someone that had a T-bucket that had steering go out at 70 mph. They didn't wreck but the problem was the splines in steering box had stripped. Too much pressure put on the splines because column had no upper support. I notice this car doesn't have support either. Any problems there?

Awesome car. The engine sounds kinda weird. Sounded more like a rock concert than a supercharged massive block. Oh well...maybe someone else who appreciates the crackly sound of a huge engine will make a video of this car. Otherwise, fantastic.

I am building a 29 mmodel a. I live in lancaster ,ca, It was a 29 Murray sedan but the wood was so,bad could not afford to use the whole body. So I cut it up and not sure what parts I am going to use, at this time . I need front brakes hubs and drums for 39 backing plates . Or no front brales. i have some modela stuff for sale so I can buy parts I need.

So, all that power and it’s going to waste? That seems a real shame. It looks stunning but instead of show and go, it must be show only. Couldn’t it at least be made safe enough for a sub 3 second blast to 60?

No way that is driven on the street much. Trailered to a place close to the event and then driven that short distance. Like probably a mile or two. And not much over 40 miles per hour. That would be kinda safe
Anyway with all of that said, very nice build.
