Hello Rich: Thank you for the Pledge of Allegiance sir. Thank you for the update on the pending recall for the 2021 on up for the parking brake wiring problem. I just finished see your air bag replacement video for your Lincoln Town car. Nice job & those aftermarket bags look good. 2 more great videos sir. The fountains of Belegio are looking great. Please stay safe & have a prosperous week 🙏 💙. TMP from N.J.
I looked at my 2023 F150 XLT once the TSB came out. The parking brake harness has a rubber grommet that slides onto a metal holder. That holder is on the drivers side of the rear axle. Upon inspection, the harness was in direct contact with the axle and had already rubbed through the exterior electrical tape, but not the cloth tape. (4,500 miles on truck) I took a piece of flexile tubing and put it around the harness and electrical taped it up before placing the grommet back on the holder.
Yeah I was looking in the bulletins on PTS Oasis for you too. There's not even a delivery hold or anything posted yet. That's because dealers haven't been notified yet. Weird we can't see it but the media did.
So glad my 2015 F-150 5.0 still had manual parking (I still personally call them emergency) brakes. Kinda like the electronic in my 2019 Honda CRV, but don't want them in a truck when towing larger trailers.
Yeh I’m not a big fan of electric. I bought a brand new accord back in 2016 and there’s several reasons I don’t want to upgrade to a new one. I don’t want electric parking brakes, I don’t want a turbo which is the only option in the new ones, I don’t want push button gear shifter. The 2016 and 2017 was the last year until they went to all this new stuff that I’m just not a fan of
Have one in the shop right now that locked up going down the road. I could have bet money that the harness had rubbed through to the wires, but i got under it and the fabric tape is barely even chaffed
I do not own an F-150 anymore, but mine (as far as I could tell) had the wire running from the parking brake pedal to the brakes. This seems destined to fail anyway. If I used the truck in the field and went through water/mud/snow a lot, I would think that the connection, at the tire itself, would eventually get water intrusion and corrode. Perhaps it would get caught on tall brush in a field or a medium stick or something. What are your thoughts on the durability of this electronic version versus the classic one that has worked for decades? Enjoy your Sunday!
As far as F series goes since the late 70s I've had a 1971 F100 Two 1972 F 100s a 1979 F150 an 82' F150 an 87' F150 a 96' F150 and a 2002 F250 which I still have ,,, never once did I have an issue with or even give a single thought to the parking brake....
That’s because you had the cabled activated version just like my 2003. It’s comparing apples to oranges. With an electronic parking brake, more problems could exist BECAUSE it is electronic.
Well considering the fact that is less than 1% effective and you can catch it ahead of time you're probably not going to have to wait for Parts... because if it's like zip ties and it says zip tie it out of the way they have you obtain that locally you don't wait for Ford to send that They have you purchase it locally to finish the recall
Sounds crazy but ive never had a working parking brake on any vehicle...they are NOT necessary but they do give a feeling of safety for regular ppl i guess.
My parking brake on my 2022 f150 randomly comes on to where I have to release it pretty often, this may be why. Thanks for the info I’m going to check it out
What year would you say manufacturers started making trucks with all these electrical buttons? 2012 ish? Should we stick to buying trucks made before 2012 for reliability?
Manufactures are getting sloppy. They need to spend WAY MORE time testing these vehicles and features before releasing them to the public. Vehicle purchasers have become the longer term test mules.
Last week i was driving a F350 6.0 diesel, out of know where front brakes locked up, kissed windshield, towed back, bad abs valve, scared shit out of me
The quality of modern wiring harnesses been getting cheaper & cheaper over the years from wires that are thin to cheap tape jobs & wire looms to poor quality connectors that leak & hard to disconnect, the older harnesses from GM (Packard Electric ,weatherpack & Delphi) was way better as was older Ford harnesses, now its all paper thin wires with Tyco Amp ,& sumitomo connectors with soy based insulation that breaks down overtime & the rats & mice love to eat it as well
Hit the thumbs up please and share if possible

Asinine....a cable parking brake has been working for 50 years.
Or a column mounted shifter that uses shift arms instead of electronic solenoids.
My brother is borrowing my 98 F150 right now because his 2022 is in the shop waiting on back ordered parts. Lol

Thank you for the update and solution sir! God bless you 🙏 I will check mine tomorrow
Thank you so much for the heads up, I’m going to look at mine this afternoon.

I’ll be checking mine today. Thanks for the picture. You’re the best!
Yvw
Checked mine out and I don’t see any problem. The wire is connected to standoffs and everything looks great. No rubbing. 😁
Black appearance package also comes with double exhaust

@@standhd Yeah I know,, the WORLD not just Ford is so damn stupid now..
Thank you Rich’23 F 150 I’ll be crawling under there now.
Somebody is watching the store for the rest of us. Thanks
same to you be bless
Good luck waiting on these parts. I still can’t get my wiper recall fix done.

I have a 2018 F150 that this happens too. Twice driving 75 mph on the highway it engaged.
Just received my letter from Ford about the yellow wire.
My 2020 Explorer has done this twice now and Ford says they don’t know why it does it? I’m just lucky it did it rolling at a idle.
My parking brake on my 2022 f150 randomly comes on to where I have to release it pretty often, this may be why. Thanks for the info I’m going to check it out
Let us know going to look at mine this weekend. I only use my truck on weekend's.
Thanks for this info man
Appreciate it
godbless you!! ❤

About 2015 with Ford

What happens if you buy a truck after the letter goes out?
So I am looking into a complete rear end rebuild on my 02 f150, how much will this usually cost for parts and labor total?
About 7 or 8 hours labor and then you're probably looking at about $700 in parts on the high end
@@FordBossMe Ok thanks, that will probably have to wait until tax time then.

Yuck
Oh fuck. The pledge? Just get to the damn issue
Just checked and mine looks fine
Thanks Rich… is there a fuse that can disable it? Temporarily…
Just climb under check out though wires that you don't plug anything
There's an old European rule for endusers: the 3F rule.
Do NOT buy Fiat, French cars or Ford!
:-))
No no you got it wrong buddy Ford is not part of that
I have a 350 Transit AWD HR with electronic parking break. Does this only applies to F150s?
Only the F-150
