I think he made so many u-turns cause he was looking for somewhere to put her body. Then decided to go back to the house and brainstorm a better option. Then he headed out one final time and that’s when he was seen (approx 1:30pm) with the “flat tire”. He’s certainly a monster. My heart breaks that Maddie never had a chance . So SS woke Maddie up at 7.15 am to drop her off early at school. They leave the house 15 minutes later. No breakfast. She falls asleep in the car almost instantly, and halfway to school SS makes a sudden u turn and wakes her up for a Mac breakfast she didn't want, so off they go, there is time to kill even though she wanted to be dropped off early, so he makes a few more random u turns, and when he is almost at her school he remembers he forgot his gate clicker, so he doesn't drop Maddie off because there is time to kill, you know, but drives all the way back home with her in the car to get the tracker, that he didn't need in in the first place, then drives back to school and drops Maddie off near the church, because there is still plenty of time to kill, so he talks to her for a bit before she tucks and rolls out of the car. Even without camera footage they would have arrested him for the most bullsh*tty story ever. And then there is Jen, who had lots of good night's sleeps in the past 7 years, and never had a clue about what was going on in the room down the hall, never noticed the dark circles under her daughter's eyes (no good night's sleep for Maddie), or any change in behaviour, so she kept on letting her daughter sleep in the same room, in the same bed with her on/off boyfriend ( I mean what mother wouldn't allow that, it's totally normal, right?) while she enjoyed an undisturbed sleep. Seven years, 1700 pictures, most of them taken in her house, a few steps away from her bedroom. Because she needed a man in the house? For what? He probably never slept with her anymore, he didn't contribute financially, he had no job. But he was willing to babysit for free! Life is hard for a single mother with a Mickey Mouse job.
Maybe he left the house early so he could dispose of her somewhere close to the school. Perhaps he thought not many people would be around at that time, but after making several passes decided against that. What stands out to me is says he returns around 10am, with no explanation as to what he may have been doing all that time.

What did he say he was doing between the time of 8:40 and 12:30 besides going to the Vape shop?
