You're currently one of my studying metas for dedicated. It's insane the amount of work you've but into this content and I can't find the words to describe how thankful I am for you
Honestly, no words can describe how helpful and amazing this video is! Once again, you come in clutch big time!! Thank you again for all your hard work and effort
Not sure if this has been said already but here's an easy mnemonic for laterality of lesion involving uvula vs. tongue deviation: uvulA -> A = away / Tongue -> T = towards.
I stumbled upon your RUclips a few days before my step 1 exam and as an IMG these videos have really helped me with my revision! Thank you so much Dr. R!
Dang...between this content and Bootcamp, I think we'll be just fine. May God bless you Dr. Roviso. I hope you're doing well. Thank you, thank you, thank you
I’ve watched this a few times as a quick review to keep things fresh and touched. But I gotta admit that every time, my favorite part doesn’t change and it’s iced coconut macha part ! 😅😅
Thank you so much, Dr. R! After watching this video, I was promoted to Jr. Butcher at the Costco I work at! Just kidding. I started watching videos on the Titan sub CEO, Stockton Rush, then began trying to understand his thinking.. which led to a few Neurological videos. I work with Databases and Web Development in the real world. After 30 minutes of your presentation, it saddens me to think about how much I didn’t know about my own Brain. There I was trying to understand someone else’s, when I don’t even understand my very own. Kudos, and thank you, for all of the effort you put into these videos, Dr. R.
That's Tuff bro !!..Best Utube teacher.Your content always very unique. One can't leave your channel without learning something new. We are with you 100%.Keep up with the effort and sacrifice. 💪🏻
Fast brief but almost everything important is discussed in few hours the good thing is I felt like I dont even have to watch the video just listened while I was doing lab work and was amazinggg. So thankfulll for this video. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I've watched hundreds and hundreds of videos and just the first 5 minutes of this video was more informative than oh that I've watched previously before thank you so much.
My dad had a hemorrhagic stroke on his right side which was due to chronic hypertension a berry aneurysm rupture in the midbrain. He did have a craniotomy to release pressure but he did have a midline shift and hematoma. The doctors and the neurologist really can't State what kind of syndrome he has or exactly what all has been damaged it's been a very frustrating for us family. He's is now quadriplegic. After surgery he was in a coma for about 3 weeks and then he started making more progress as far as conscious goes vegetative in between minimal conscious. Now he's in and out of it he's not really fully conscious ever but he can open his eyes sometimes he's got a tracheotomy but he can't move his arms and his legs. I don't know if he's locked in or if he just has severe significant brain damage and there really isn't an exact disorder to his condition. It doesn't seem to fall within any syndrome or disorder that I've found so far it's kind of a mix of a little of this and a little of that but nothing concrete exact maybe you can help me a little on what you think it could be. I would be so thankful for your input.
Rosalina, I am so sorry to hear about your father's condition. As far as your question goes unfortunately there is a divergence between what you may learn as a medical student, and what tends to happen in real life. In textbooks, boards questions, and academia, everything is straightforward. The syndromes depicted are always classically represented with features and catch phrases. In the real world of clinical medicine, as you will see on rotations and in residency, there is a grey area to these same topics. Many neurologists will sometimes be able to postulate based on MRI and clinical findings, where a lesion may be located. An example of this in the literature, may be decreased consciousness in the setting of infarction surrounding the reticular formation. I am wishing you and your family the best, and if you need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out. My response is not to be taken as medical advice and opinions are my own and do not represent those of my employer; I have not personally treated or evaluated the individual(s) discussed in my response.
Absolutely Amazing video! I have always struggled with neurology and this video cleared a LOT of stuff. You have done an amazing job in explaining everything. I never knew I could binge watch medicine!! Great Work Sir. Thankyou very much! :)
OMGosh SIR!!! These videos are saving me HOURS of rewatching boards and beyond!!! THANK YOU! (Side note: I start clinicals for year 3-4 soon. Do you have clerkship specific videos? ...Peds highlights... IM highlights.... OB/Gyn highlights... etc? Also, thank you for all the time that you dedicate to reviewing these concepts and making these videos.)
You are welcome! As far as the clerkship videos, I really want to get them started. I have so many videos I want to do, but my biggest restriction is free time right now. I will absolutely have them in the future. Stay tuned!
I am in love with these videos. Can't thank you enough for this. Wi8ing for your other uploads too Nd plz give us a tentative date for ur upcoming video too. TIA ❤
Thank you so much, I went through the uploads I am working on in a recent video I posted titled "End of July 2020 Channel Updates". Ideally, I would like to put out a high yield neurology video for USMLE Step 2CK, a high yield hematology video for USMLE Step 1, and 5-10 200 Highest Yield Topics on USMLE Step 1 videos in the next month.
USMLE exams won't bother you or be a problem if you work with someone like Mrs Catherina... She's God sent, she saved me from taking the test for the 6th time
Mrs Catherina is obviously the best, i studied her questions and answers just in 5 days and I passed, the materials she provided was exactly the questions I saw on my test day
so glad I found this channel. including the video of yourself explaining it somehow helps me stay focused and keeps me from getting lost. you explain things so well and i never feel like i need to skip past anything you say. and the time stamps in the description?? amazing. thank you so much!!
Hey Ernie! Thanks so much! That video will no longer be available on the channel. I am very sorry. More content to come though! I am working on some big things for the channel. Please be patient with me 🙏🙏🙏😄
I can't express how helpful this video was in my step prep!! Thank you so much!! I had a couple questions: 1. In tuberous sclerosis, hamartin and tuberin are dysfunctional and can't inhibit mTOR which leads to mTOR overexpression (and not inhibition) right? Which causes tumor growth? I may have misinterpreted the video. 2. When discussing parietal and temporal lesions, you mentioned right quadrantanopsia I assume in reference to a lesion on the default dominant hemisphere. I assume this is also present in the opposite (right lesion, contralateral quadrantanopsia)?
Hi.. thanks for making all of these videos! Do you by any chance have a comprehensive list of what’s highest yield for step 1? Across all topics... hope to hear back from you.
Thank you for this comment. It actually put a smile on my face today and gave me the reassurance that this channel is really helping others. As far as the HY heme video goes, it is now unavailable although there is a lot of content projects potentially coming down the pipeline. I promise to get 10x the content in that heme video out on the channel in the new few months. Much love friend and if you need anything don't hesitate to reach out.
It means so much to hear that. Glad I could convey you how much you are helping students like me across the world. I would really request if you could put that video or a new one anytime sooner since I have my exam this month🙈 Once again thankyou so much. Teaching is the greatest virtue out there. Stay blessed

I've heard a lot of good stories about this same woman all over RUclips channels can she really help
Mrs Catherina is obviously the best, i studied her questions and answers just in 5 days and I passed, the materials she provided was exactly the questions I saw on my test day

What happened to the heme/onc high yield video and the MSK one?
This I don’t know the terms such as cortical signs and focal neurological deficits?
