Herbert, the people than own Tesla EVs have jobs, most of the very good jobs that earn them upper income status. These owners don’t want to work as Uber drivers! These owners don’t want a second job as an Uber driver. If an existing Tesla wants to enlist their EVs in Tesla Robotaxi service, Tesla will have to hire other people who want or need the income. Perhaps they can entice Uber and Lyft drivers to switch to Tesla especially if Tesla moves to Remote Supervision either from the start or after a few months of driving data to show regulators the increasing efficacy.
Speak for yourself. I have a full time job(small biz owner). I own a 2022 MY with FSD and a 2024 MX with FSD and I absolutely will uber drive for Tesla to help them with last mile data and to earn some extra cash. What you fail to understand is that most those of us with Teslas who have been beta testers for years we are ultra excited about showing people who have no idea. I look forward to that and even though I don't really need another job the extra money will just go toward more TSLA stock. Maybe even another Tesla!
@@MyPapagio I totally agree with you and its great you have the time and desire and dedication for the cause. We need more people like you. My point was unfortunately most of the Tesla owners in my opinion won’t do what you will do for whatever reason - too busy with current job workload long hours, they have a family to attend to, they don’t need the money, they don’t feel the money is worth it, etc. Speaking for myself. I don’t own a Tesla but I am an all-in investor and would like Tesla to succeed. My son owns a MY and my brother owns a M3. Neither of them would enlist their cars in the Robotaxi service.
@garycarson3128 I agree that someone who has a new Tesla, likely won't want to admit it to the network. However, when a car hits that typical 4 year mark and has lost that new car appeal, they easily become second cars or are traded in. But now, instead of trading in you can enter your Tesla into the network and use the income you earn from that to completely pay for a new car. With an estimated potential of 500k-1mil mile life of these cars, this could really compound. And with Teslas making their cars FSD compatible since 2018 there are currently a couple million Tesla's ready to hit the network. I plan to enter my 2022 Model Y into it...surely there are many others. Besides, Tesla about to crank up production on lower cost cars so the number of fleet managers willing to buy these (or yours) is going to skyrocket. If I could afford to do it, I'd buy 10. As for the initial Uber style run so Tesla can gather last mile ride data, I'll certainly do that in my MX. If that earns enough to cover the payment on another Tesla, I'm in. Then once the FSD is ready to go unsupervised the whole thing is going to rapidly expand. I can't be the only one out there that thinks like this. I bet your sons would enter their Tesla's into it if it meant they can then use that income to buy their own brand new Tesla. Why wouldn't they? It's free.
Honestly this was my first thought when people initially brought this up. There are some existing Uber drivers that buy Teslas but it does seem like a small amount of people that would actually participate in a supervised taxi business for Tesla. Maybe if drivers get to keep close to 100% then it could spur some demand.
MIND Blown tonight. This is what its like driving I MEAN riding in my car now after last nights software update. Just drove 50 miles though Kingwood to Tomball and then back to Kingwood and never once had to touch the brakes wheel or blinkers. The car drives it self. Its like a UBER.
Sooner or later they'll have to shut down Y production to change over and ramp up juniper production. They might shut down on 1/1/25, initiate online sales and changeover the model line ASAP.
Warren is way off on his view of 10/10. He first thinks its a recruiting event and then thinks they are going to bring out a new Model X?? This is just silly.
Now that lots of folks finally got Summons even though they paid for it a few quarters ago, will Tesla show that revenue on the books now or did it get entered in the books when the purchase was made ?
@@MyPapagio It looked that way to me. You could buy Smart Summons and Auto Park for $6K and optionally FSD for another $6K, but you couldn’t get FSD without buying Smart Summons & AP. You’re kind of right.
Once people realize what a Tesla car can do with FSD used Tesla prices are going to go way up. I believe Tesla stock price is about to skyrocket. FSD and Robo Taxi is now A REALITY....................... I KNOW because MY CAR CAN DRIVE IT SELF.
@TheSpartan3669 Perhaps you aren't following the Tesla story and their exponential development of embodied Ai. Nvidia went from a 1T market cap to over 3T market cap in under a year and their only making hardware that goes into the hardware that uses the Ai software that controls the body of the Ai (robotaxi, Optimus humanoid). Those two tangible Tesla products not only generate high volume revenue but also at SAS level profit margins. And one of their own products drives down the cost of producing the other, which will ensure they are not only the lead player but the absolute dominate player. And this is majorly disruptive within the largest sectors of the world. Transportation and manual labor. 8T is probably a grossly low estimate.
Tesla has an awareness deficit. People regularly ask me about gas tanks on my Tesla. There is a simple solution to this: ADVERTISING. Get over it, Elon. Educate the public about electric cars, Superchargers, 120V home charging, superior safety, low financing rates, IRA and state point of sale rebates, etc. Only Tesla nerds know all this. Spread the love, BOOST SALES.
Yeah, Tesla should do some TV infomercials with celebrity / car guy like Jay Leno. Show charging at home and coming out to a charged car everyday, show how to do a road trip with Navigating to SC etc.
Totally agree! Had a young boy excited to see my vehicle and said Tesla was his favorite type of car. I said "do you know it's an electric vehicle?" He said no and I thought that was interesting. He was old enough to know the difference but, was glad I was able to teach him something ❤
So much talks about bad positioning of tesla because of politics but then again how many here voting for trump and have a positive view since recent developments
Elon’s politics have decimated Tesla’s once exponential sales to almost “flat line”. Once the darling of the centre left, now it’s almost toxic to that massive market and not just for USA.

Jeff nailed the financing incentives and desire to maintain production capacity at certain levels. Lower financing costs will increase demand.
I agree with Jeff that supervised robotaxi announcement on 10-10 makes sense

Tie in Tesla insurance at a low cost. That will move the needle more than lower FSD prices.
A low spec Model Y will do extreme well in Europe, I think.
It would be great to hit sales just over 1.8 just to stuff it in the face of everyone who has said sales are or will be declining!
