    As a Marine who left active duty in 1994 after coming home from Somalia and then watched this movie a year later.... I felt the line "Its civilian life, sir, I had a minor setback". 😆. I had a few issues in my first few civilian jobs because I had no filter but all is good now. My kids who are grown adults now, like to tell their friends that this is how I raised them and how I used to call all of them "Turds". My daughter was 8yr old when she learned the meaning of turd and she was offended. LOL... Good movie. The movie showcases the tenants of leadership with Marine Corps traits and principles.

    Pain knew they all paid to higher Bam Bam to attack him. He even knew the cadet comader threw in 40 bucks. His hearing is good enough he easily heard him say put me down for 40 right after he dismissed them to take off the dresses. That's why he asked what about you?. But since he refused responsibility, Stone took responsibility for everyone on his shoulders. That's what a leader does. So Pain made him the cadet leader.

  • @Kamenari37
    @Kamenari37 8 месяцев назад +7

    I was in JROTC in high school. Typically, those drill rifles are made of light pine wood and simply carved into the shape of a rifle. Sometimes weights can be added to make them a bit more realistic to the heft of an actual gun, but that's typically what most drill squads use for the twirls and rifle stunts while learning... except my school. No, at my school our instructors actually managed to get their hands on ACTUAL decommissioned M1 Garandes' for our armed drill squad. We used to run contests to see who could trigger the breaches to close and pull their thumb out before it got smashed by the action. I once did an over-the-shoulder drop and catch and wound up hitting my funny bone with one of the iron sights. My arm went numb for like 1/2 an hour.

    I remember the first time I watched this movie was on my 21st birthday. This movie had just come out on video. I never had even heard anything about it. We were having a birthday party at my place and one of my friends had brought the movie over just to kind have on in the background. No one was really sitting down to get into a movie. Now we were all pretty drunk, and we had been smoking the wacky tobaccy. And it was about maybe half way thru the movie that we started noticing some scenes that were really funny. And more and more we all began to sit and watch movie, until by the end we were all in stitches just laughing our butts off. When it ended, we literally started it again to see what we missed, and watched the whole thing again. I know its a pretty corny kids movie. But Damon Wayons is just so damn good at playing that part. Its hilarious.

    i saw this after i had completed AIT in the army and was waiting to get shipped off to Germany. Pain sounds almost exactly the same as my Drill Sargent we had. He would do the weird suck on his teeth thing and had the same voice. What made it even funnier is as we are watching, pain says something in a scenes in this movies and our DS wandered in basically said the exact same thing in the same way. We lost it so bad, if it had not been for us no longer being in training and him being in a good mood i think we would have been smoked so bad.

    Love this movie such a classic and a great family comedy, I think pretty much every joke it gag was perfect lol.
    I will say I know it’s a joke BUT Payne definitely wouldn’t be abusive (police station scene) then he obviously doesn’t do child abuse (stone and his stepdad) and she wasn’t to much b trying to fix him vs just loosen him up a bit since he was amongst civilians and not the enemy. 😂😂

    100% they should not make a sequel this movie is good enough you don't want to go and ruin it especially in this era it'll be way too watered down that was the great thing about that was the great thing about the 60 70 80s 90s and early 2000s there was a lot more freedom when you can create a movie and everybody wasn't so soft they could take a joke or something what would seem inappropriate nowadays people had tougher skin back then and could deal with it.. and by the way Bam Bam Bigelow is my uncle R.I.P he was a really great guy when I got to see him he was always in and out of either rehab and or Down and out at home because all the pills

    Fun fact. Damon Wayans made a Spike Lee reference. He eventually starred in Spike Lee's Bamboozled. I know there is ZERO chance you guys ever cover that movie. However, if you did its one of Spike Lee's most underrated films ever.
