I love Chun-Li, she's my favorite Capcom character, but no she isn't the strongest in the world. She might be the strongest in Capcom. Because for example like in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, I agree with what Jean Grey says to Chun-Li, "You're about to deal with forces you can't possibly comprehend." Even if Chun-Li, Juri, C. Viper, and Cammy are put together, they still can't touch Jean Grey aka Phoenix, and even less when she's White Phoenix of the Crown.

I think she's the strongest in the Street Fighter universe. However over all, there are stronger ladies than her. Jean Grey, and Wanda Maximoff are two examples.

It may be a good idea but I stay stay close tabs with Sakurai what he's playing next and besides request has been shut off Nintendo already decided who will be joining the battle even if you don't like the choices he make
I heard she was planned for Ultimate, but scrapped due to time constraints. They decided on Ken because he would be easier to develop, being similar to Ryu.

that depends on how one count, but the first playable female fighting game character would probably be Yuki from Typhoon Gal or Gaea from Galactic Warriors.
Shortly before that, Yie AR Kung Fu had non-playable female opponent.
However the VS Fighting genre as known today was codified by Street Fighter 2, and it was the first to really features iconic characters, making Chun-Li was the first widely known female character in fighting game and remains the most iconic.

Chun Li is amazing in MvC3, it's in SF4 where I find her at fault. In MvC3 she has some of the best air combos available in the game, to the point that it becomes rediculous. It was so bad my friends and I usually boiled our fights down to which of us could keep Chun Li alive longer.

I like that while she is quite attractive, they didn't make her a total sexpot like say Juri. For once, it's just nice to see a woman in a fighting game for more than just fanservice.

I don't think Juri is a "fanservice" type character.
But Juri fits the archetype of enchantress/femme fatale though. Juri dresses provocatively to take advantage of those who would be attracted. If there is anyone to complain about it is Cammy "One-Piece Swimsuit" White, but even she has 'agility' reasons.
The only real Fanservice character is Poison. Cammy is nothing compared to the amount of fanservice Poison has.

My favourite female SF character so far. I main her as well and I'm slowly getting to the point where I'm going to be as good as other Chun Li players. But still need more practice as her.
Well she's no 1 for me followed by Cammy, Juri, Sakura & Makoto. And her theme is so far on my top 5. So far, my favourite is Cody followed by Sakura theme, this theme, Ken theme & Yang theme.
