  • Ronti Saddle is a saddle between the glorious Himalayan peaks of Nanda Ghunti and Trishul closer to the Nanda Devi Inner Sanctuary. The trek follows the Nandakini River and takes us through the villages of Sutol and Tatra to enter the deep forests of Lata Khopri to reach the moraines of Sila Samudra and the peculiar campsite of Dodang. The name Sila Samudra translates to 'Sea of Rocks' and is given to the glacier coming down from the mighty Trishul. If there is some noise in this valley, it is of the frequent ice breaking and falling down from Trishul, feeding the Sia Samudra glacier. Here, you will only find yourself and few 'Keeda Jadi, Yartse Gumba' pluckers during the months of June. Homkund is a small lake which mostly remains under snow. We get to this high altitude lake by trekking along a broken ridge with a sharp vertical fall to one side then climbing on towards the infamous Ronti Saddle which sits between Nanda Ghunti and Trishul.
This trek is a trek of many climaxes and definitely makes you sweat for all of its exquisite offerings. A perfect mix of challenge and beauty, it is a trek for anyone who wants to push their limits in the high-altitude terrain.
