You still look at the same chapel late one night during a full moon that every cadet has looked at thousands of times before and wonder where the journey will take you, and where it took them, and what they thought. I work with a bunch of retirees and we all miss the experiences. Chasing money in the civilian world will never give me what I've got. Besides, pretty sure the Academy isn't a four-year committment anymore...
I just want to thank you for making this video. at the time of this comment I am 15, with a dream of making it into the academy. whenever I don't feel like studying for as long as I should, I just watch this video and hop right back to my assignment. This is definitely one of my favorite RUclips videos ever.
I am going to get into that academy no matter what. I want it SO bad. I am going to work my butt of and when I don’t want to do something, I’m going to tell myself “If you want to get in- then do it.” I want to make all of these amazing memories and do all of the amazing things I saw in this video. I want to be a leader. I will get good grades, I will work so damn hard through out middle and High school. I will work harder then others and I want to be able to say “I have served in the U.S Air Force.” I can do it. I can get my Math grade up that one letter. I want this to be my goal in life. I want to make my Mom so proud of me and I want to prove everyone who doubted me wrong. I may be young but I have this goal and I want to live up to it. No matter how hard it seems I can do it. I wish I figured out I wanted to go the AF Academy as early as you did. I am a jr in high school and just recently figured out that I want to go to this school but the past 2 years of high school I did not try my best at all. Last I checked I have a gpa of around 3.46 and to get into that school it has to be around like a 3.6 to a 3.8. So I plane to use the last 2 years of high school to get my life back on track and do every thing in my power to get my grades, test scores and my gpa up so that I can fulfill my dream of becoming a fighter pilot.

This was really well done, makes the place seem fun:) I am a 98 grad and will say this. Life is never perfect, USAFA is not perfect; however, the people (fellow cadets and leadership) are exceptional and the experiences you have and make are invaluable. Then you get to serve our country in about whatever field you choose. I was far from a perfect cadet, but the Zoo is a special place and the military members I learned from in my career made me a better man. I am available to speak with anyone looking to be nominated and appointed. Would say to start first with your local Liaison Officer…they are everywhere now. Here to help, I am on LinkedIn. Worth it? listen, don't watch this video and assume that everything is gonna be fun and peachy. Currently an A1C in a shit base working as a CST (Military IT), can't wait to get out and make more money, because my experience isn't nearly as fun as pictured in this video
listen, I understand everyone’s experience is different. But you also have to know that a lot of the things you do is in your control. You chose to enlist which led you to your AFSC. I used to be an A1C like you stationed in South Dakota, and I could’ve easily had a terrible attitude but what’s the point of that? Don’t try to demotivate others when you haven’t tried to change your experiences
@@fuhren_tsai I'm not trying to demotivate others, I'm always searching for fun things to do with friends and make the best of a bad situation. However, I'm trying to give another aspect to the whole "everything in the Air Force is awesome and there are no negatives," rep that people who are in are always trying to pitch. I had a lot of people hyping the military up when I was first interested in joining just to get smacked by reality.

listen, don't watch this video and assume that everything is gonna be fun and peachy. Currently an A1C in a shit base working as a CST (Military IT), can't wait to get out and make more money, because my experience isn't nearly as fun as pictured in this video
listen, I understand everyone’s experience is different. But you also have to know that a lot of the things you do is in your control. You chose to enlist which led you to your AFSC. I used to be an A1C like you stationed in South Dakota, and I could’ve easily had a terrible attitude but what’s the point of that? Don’t try to demotivate others when you haven’t tried to change your experiences
@@fuhren_tsai I'm not trying to demotivate others, I'm always searching for fun things to do with friends and make the best of a bad situation. However, I'm trying to give another aspect to the whole "everything in the Air Force is awesome and there are no negatives," rep that people who are in are always trying to pitch. I had a lot of people hyping the military up when I was first interested in joining just to get smacked by reality.
